  1. Right then dpreece, I take it you are new to this forum lark, otherwise you'd know that the New Members section is for people wanting to join the forum, to take the opportunity to introduce themselves, where they're from, what sort of bike they have etc, once they've done that, they then go on to find the particular section they need, to explain the problem they are having with their bike, which in your case would be the 'Yamaha Workshop' section. Now then once you posted in the 'Yamaha Workshop' section with your problem, you then need to tell us, what you've actually done yourself, to try and rectify your problem, so somebody with the knowledge of your bike can then think of trying something that maybe you've missed. If by someway you were a bit of a techniphobe, and new nothing about bikes and therefore unable to check yourself ,rather than can't be arsed to check what might be at fault, we'd know because you would have told us in the New Members section, get my drift? Oh and by the way it's 'isn't' not 'aint'
  2. Patrick you need to use the search feature at the top of the page mate, put in 6v, 12v, dt125, conversion, theres plenty of threads about how to go about it, infact I think theres even a sticky, I would've searched and put the link to it myself but Drewpy reckons I'm a soft bleeder for doing it so I won't

    Having a right Giraffe

Aye, Cheers Drewpy, have got the bearings and bushes coming from Wemoto, and Yambits only have for earlier models than mine,(80's)it seems the kits don't come with shims, or the end caps, mind you did order some bits from Yambits, the caliper piston and seal kits, and a DT125R locking petrol cap, both no use to me mind as although the petrol cap looked exactly the same as mine in the pic, but its waaaay too small, and the caliper piston and seal kit came with a 35mm piston, I need a 30mm piston, so if anyone needs these I'll do them at half the price I paid for them, that'll teach me for not reading the item description properly,p.m me, as I canna do bugger all with them.

    Having a right Giraffe

Managed to get hold of a swingarm bearing and bush kit for £26.00, missing the shims and the tin end caps/covers mind, does anybody know where I can get these at all? or is it a re-mortgage jobby at Yamaha main dealer?
  6. Good to see you got it sorted eventually Super, plus now you've seen it done, maybe now you can pass that knowledge on to someone else who needs help. Thats when the feelgood factor of working on bikes kicks in

    stolen kawasaki

Came accross that video earlier this morning, funnily enough, while looking for insurance companies, I noticed thatmost of those chains are guaranteed to withstand at least 5 mins, most I saw averaged about 17 seconds,in my opinion if they made bike chains like mini ship anchor chains,(each link is similar to the number 8 it would make it much harder to get a set of bolt croppers on it, but then again the padlock would more than likely let it down

    service

Kearnsy, before you even begin servicing it mate, get a workshop manual, you'll kill two birds here, one, you'll get to know what goes where, and what does what, so you get to know your bike better, and two, by about page 15, you'll see a chapter all about what you need to go about servicing it, and how to go about doing it.
  14. Aye, you would have thought so yes, have you tried putting the brake pipe, and the caliper back on, and trying? seems daft that it isn't pumping out the top end, and like I say the plunger is going up and back down again, inside the cylinder? I woulda thought it all had to be all connected up , so as to create pressure within the brake fluid. I say this because when bleeding from the bleed nipple, the tube you use to bleed with has to have its other end in some brake fluid , so as to create a type of vaccuum, Oh aye, as a p.s, if you do put it all together with caliper, put something wooden, between the caliper pistons so you can open them back up again
  15. I wouldn't have thought you'd need to rebuild the master cylinder unless it was actually leaking from it.I take it the internal plunger is going up and down, as it ought to? One thing I have noticed myself whilst bleeding brakes, is when you open up the bleed nipple right open it doesn't come out as easily as when you just open the bleed nipple, ever so slightly, a bit like the difference between putting your mouth over a kitchen roll tube and blowing, and blowing through a drinking straw, if you get my drift. Try just opening up the bleed nipple just one turn, see if it makes a difference. Hope this helps.

    Having a right Giraffe

Aye I emailed them over in the states, they told me they don't do my model the pic is just for show, they do the earlier model stuff, Mind you looking at the pic, it looks like the 4 tin end caps are missing
  17. I can't work out whether this is a clever idea, or a plain crazy one. What say you?
  18. I e-mailed these today, either he's having a laugh or has found out I,m a Derby County supporter, seeing as they're on the wrong side of the A52. my e-mail to them. Looking for the price of the full kit of swingarm bushes, rollers, top hats and shims, off a 1992 yamaha dt 125r chassis number 3MD019272. Their reply. Hi Nev Yamaha don't supply a 'kit' for the suspension bearings/collars only the seperate parts. It's unlikely that you'll need to replace every part, but a 'ball park' price would be around £250.00. If you strip the swingarm and check what's required we can give you an acurate price. Somebody please tell me that I can get these swingarm bearings and bushes for at least a third of what this geezer is quoting me, perlease!!! This is the kit I need
  19. Cracking post Leatherat, my daughter failed hers last year by putting her foot down on the U turn, I'll get her to read this for her retake
