  1. Try Ryan Air, that way you'll get f*cked twicefold
  2. Hi and welcome to the forum Smuggler.
  3. You got yourself a right bargain with the bike, and you say you did a service on a blokes car for it? and as for the car, looks a cracker does that, must say, that when I first saw Vanishing Point, I fell in love with the Challenger, don't suppose you have a Mach 1 Mustang in that workshop, somewhere under a tarp do you? always fancied one of those ;)btw try Yuniparts on ebay, I'm sure they do replacement seat covers for your model DT.
  4. Very much doubt it no, but it does sound electrical, maybe a bad earth? cdi earth? HT lead breaking up, could be a few things.
  5. I'd say that if you definately know your battery is good, and you hear a clicking when you try and start it, may be one of two things I'd go for, firstly tap the starter with the wooden shaft of a hammer, a couple of times, it could be that the starter is jamming on the bendix cogs and if still clicking after that replace the starter relay, first checking you have a good earth to the starter and wiring looks ok. All else fails mind, find yourself a bit of a hill, should bump start in second gear
  6. O.k try this one. how about inside a plastic sleive, then inserted somewhere under the foam padding inside your helmet? I presume you have to take your helmet off, whenever pc plod stops you, and can't be that often either. In my opinion, leaving important documents like that, with the bike, you are asking for trouble, god forbid, somebody stole your bike. just a thought.
  7. Hmmm, we don't have your problem over here Dusted, the only thing we need to display is our paper road tax disc, (approx 2 1/2" circle)which we usually insert it into a weatherproof tax disc holder, this has to be visible, so we usually mount it on the bottom of the fork somewhere usually the cable guide, brake pipe guide mount, are your cards credit card size? and if so could you not send off for a couple of tax disc holders? and maybe mount them, same as we do here, onto the forks, if the tax disc holder is big enough to hold them that is? Here's an Ebay link to some disc holders, although if you scroll down to the Oberon type, it looks just what you'd need for any paperwork, but not plastic. Hope this helps. http://shop.ebay.co.uk/i.html?_nkw=motorbike+tax+disc+holders+&_cqr=true&_nkwusc=mototbike+tax+disc+holders&_rdc=1

Aye, I thought it was quite easily to spot the mistake as both Dolphins being pink
  10. A blip on the front brake, followed by rear brake, and while on the back brake a blip on the front again, calms the suspension down a bit, seeing as how the suspension has a big part to play in braking

    Stressed?

Now, you have to take this seriously - or else it doesn't work very well! This is a stress test. Make sure you read the instructions before viewing the dolphins! STRESS I am not sure exactly how it works, but this is amazingly accurate. Read the full description then look at the picture. The picture below has 2 identical dolphins in it. It was used in a case study on stress levels at St. Mary's Hospital.London. Look at both dolphins jumping out of the water. The dolphins are identical. A closely monitored, scientific study revealed that, in spite of the fact that the dolphins are identical, a person under stress would find differences in the two dolphins. The more differences a person finds between the dolphins, the more stress that person is experiencing. Look at the photograph and if you find more than one or two differences you need to go on holiday. No Need to Reply, I'll be on holiday Never take life seriously. Nobody gets out alive anyway...

  21. A cracking trip that, mind you seeing as you are up in Inverness, why not add an extra day to your trip and get up to John O'groats too, the coast road from Inverness to John O'groats was made for a bike, but like OG says keep in mind where petrol stations are.
  22. Panels, decals and headlight unit came today, starting to look something like a DT now. Tank sprayed but still some dinks in it need sorting out fitted the heat repellent fabric on rear panel. otherwise it will turn to mush after half hour of the exhaust heat on it. Decals were a bit of a pig to fit, not too many bubbles will go round with a pin tomorrow after they've settled in. Headlight unit on, and panel sprayed green, looking smart, but either need to make brackets for it to get around the size of the clocks, or get rid of the standard clocks and go digital, not sure yet.
  23. Hi and welcome to the forum Andy, lovely neck of the woods you're from mate, spent a couple of weeks at Atlantic College a few years ago, did a kayaking course there. Enjoy your new bike, ride safe.
  24. Hi dids, 3 wire servo right?, you should have a black/yellow wire coming from the CDI,that wire plugs onto the black/yellow wire on the servo, the other two wires are black (earth) and brown (switchable live)providing you've wired the brown to switchable live, and not constant live (red)the only thing it could possibly be are the cables going to the pulley, not being set up right. Usually you should hear the servo motor for a second or two, when you turn the ignition on. Hope this helps.
  25. Hi, and welcome to the forum Wayne, cracking intro, give it about 10 minutes on your bike, and on an open stretch of road mate, it'll all come flooding back to you, it's a buzz that never leaves you, ever!
