  1. Hi If you have a road registered WR400F from circa 1999, I'm wondering if you could take a look at your V5 and help me fill out the following boxes on my application form for a first registration (I have some of the values already from the web, but I'll reproduce here if you can check it?): Variant: Version: Length: 2275mm HC g/km or g/kWh: Unladen weight: 113kg Number of Seats: 1 Max Net Power: 35.3kWh Width: 835mm NOx g/km or g/kWh: Power/Weight ratio: 0.312kW/kg CO2 g/km: Particulates (pm) g/km or g/kwh: CO g/km or g/kWh: HC + NOx g/km: Stationary Sound Level dB(A): Engine Speed Sound Level: Drive-by Sound Level dB(A): Thanks in advance for any info you can give. I'm sure that not all this info is on the V5, but if your V5 shows anything I don't have or disagrees with any of the values already entered, or if anyone can think of another source for this info please let me know! Cheers! cj
  2. Did you try the obvious? http://images.google.co.uk/images?q=yz+250+wiring+diagram
  3. I don't see a problem cleaning a chain in the manner he set about.. what I can't figure out is why he came to think it would be a good idea to put the rag on the inside of the chain... THat's just asking for a hand through sprocket.. But on the outside? I'd have no qualms about going near a moving chain in that fashion.. I'd probably just use spray-degreaser though, to take the chain off and soak it in a bucket of diesel..
  4. And you could have put the DT in the back and put her in a nice warm cab.. You rotten bastard!
  5. don't post your email in a machine-readable form on the internet; software will harvest it* and add it to a spam database, increasing the amount of spam you get. obscure it like: "I have a hotmail (.co.uk) email and the bit before teh @ is brian_stevens57" I've written such software before now, not for spamming purposes but... - As to your query.. yamaha uk were most helpful when i rang them with my engine number, they couldnt find it but looked either side and provided an estimate of the age. Whether they'd write this into a dating certificate i dont know, but i'm gfoing to ask today for my wr400
  6. Don't put your email address on the web without making it unreadable to robots, you nuggets! Right now there are bits of software crawling the web looking for email addresses to add to a "spam the **** out of this person" database. Edit your posts so your email addresses are readable only to human: "mail me, my ISP is eircom dot net and my email name there is ericmorley" You also missed the other obvious solution: A google images search for yamaha dt wiring diagram http://images.google.co.uk/images?sourceid=navclient&rlz=1T5GGLL_enGB260GB260&q=yamaha+dt+wiring+diagram&um=1&ie=UTF-8&ei=oTfOSo-5NoOZjAeb27D9Aw&sa=X&oi=image_result_group&ct=title&resnum=1 They aint changed much over the years...
  7. yamaha dt* yes, thats an asterisk after dt. That would be a better ebay search, choose category Cars, Motorcycles and Vehicles..
  8. Hi All I have here a WR400F that was advertised as stolen/recovered by the dealer I bought it from The frame number has been filed off and painted over The engine number is still present I phoned Yamaha UK with the engine number and they couldnt locate it directly but said they suspected from similar engine numbers either side, that the bike was a 1999 The DVLA have advised me to contact the owners club or yamaha to obtain a Dating Certificate (what can I say; she's my kind of ride ) for the bike. They also want to inspect the bike to check some things (not an SVA but some kind of inspection) and will issue a log book upon payment of £55 plus some money for tax. I have to have insurance (which I can get against a frame number if I can find it out), an MOT and some ID. Can anyone advise me as to the process here? Are the engine number and frame number the same (as with my old DT) or do they differ? If they differ, where can I get the frame number from? Who has equipment to analyse the metal and read the number even if it is filed off? (I hear it can be done) If they are the same, can I just have my local motorbike shop punch the number into the headstock? (They have the equipment) Will the manufacturer issue a dating certificate even if they cannot find the exact bike? (Yamaha said it might be an import) Where else could I go to find what frame number relates to my engine number? I don't mind if it has a Q plate; does this change anything? What can/will the owners club do to assist in such a process? Is it far more arseing around than it's worth? -> I can keep/sell the bike for use it on private land and buy one that is road reg already.. This bike may never have been road reg, and it certianly doesnt have all the necessary kit (lights etc) so I'd have to buy those.. Currently stands me at about 650 quid, and it's been a whole lot of fun getting it working again.. Not averse to breaking it either, but if I could get some green lane use out of it it would be nice.. Thanks in advance for any help you can offer
