  1. thanks jim, yes i have read the same as you but some of the guys racing the tt600 in the states reckon it cures the surge problem, had it in yesterday and triumph have updated the latest tune, dyno showed it had increased the bhp by 8hp but still surging when riding home not as bad but still scary at high speeds on twistys.should have bought an R1.

    power commander

has anybody got one fitted to there bike? have looked at fitting one on my bike £319 in the uk but bought from california £165 plus customs charge of £27 a big saving but how good are they really, not looking for more bhp just more control over the fuel injection side
  3. cheap its still cheap if we paid what it really costs, 88 per cent of what we pay is what the goverment put on in tax as do all the other countrys in europe, love that photo the way gaddafi is shaking hands but not looking at blair without a flicker of emotion.
  4. the arab nations have not drawn us in jim but agreed to back us over the no fly zone something the americans said last week was foolhardy but have now decided to join in, last as usual. but why have the arab nations backed us,one arab source said today there was an aggrement that if they backed us we would keep out of what is happening in bahrain makes you wonder, its not about gaddafi or the poor libyian people its the oil reserves. thank god i am to old and out of it spent enough time fighting different conflicts over oil and mineral reserves on the pretext it was for humanitarian reasons.
  5. are you sure he said solenoid it sounds more like TPS sensor, your starter is a different issue altogether it would not cause the symptoms you described losing power but the TPS sensor might or as suggested a carb problem.

    Light bulbs

my youngest son 34yrs old decided at last to leave home before xmas and got himself a flat in manchester, great no more dads taxi/pillion. i now have a new role, anything goes wrong its help dad, like you DT i thought what can be difficult in picking him up a couple of light bulbs ie halogen spotlight. so off i go to B&Q TO FIND THE SELECTION FROM HELL.one week later not knowing what the hell his are screw in push in or some other type perm any 1 from 10, i did what any good father would do i rang him up and told him they were out of stock.
  7. no keep it yellow, maybe a few go faster stripes. take no notice kev of all these piss takers dont let them get you down. it would take at least ten of them. been to rivington barn on it yet?
  8. no its not you its those robbing swines called brokers.a couple of years ago i had a multibike policy with bennets i sold one of my bikes and like an idiot rang bennets who i had been with for years and told them that i had sold one of my bikes so they could take it off the policy, the guy replied no problem mate i will inform the insurance company, great all done so i thought till 4 days later i get a letter telling me i had to pay a £30 admin fee no mention on the phone when i rang them so after getting nowhere with bennets i renewed with carole nash, but two years later i find myself in the same position wanting to add a bike on that policy more admin fees but this time £45 plus £36.40 for the new bike, the origanal policy was only £86 and it has 8 months to run!

    census

having like everybody else recieved the census i started to fill it in,one question asks how many cars or vans they have available per household ? no mention of motorcycles why, well according to the department of transport motorcycles dont contribute significantly to traffic or parking congestion. now i know why i prefer a bike to a car.
  11. yes its a bastard its almost as bad as when some one just comes in asks questions doesnt introduce themselves like in the newbie section just expects an answer and pisses off never to hear from them again.
  12. my triumph tt600 does 36.62mpg mostly short journeys but on a long run rises to the dizzy heights of 38.93mpg and as i dont own a car cant really compare it but if i used my old mans free bus pass would save a fortune but not have as much fun. as for all the physics in previous replies pass way over my head.
  13. not a fan of textile trousers or kevlar type jeans as both offer no real protection but have had a textile jacket (spada) for many years, but wear leather most times.
  14. ah but is it half full or half empty $4.10 per gallon god your lucky its nearly £6 a gallon here and going up week after week.
  15. oh god you have done it now darren mentioning jaffa cakes.we will end up with the 3 page thread on if its a cake or a buscuit.
  16. the reality is who gives a shit about all the physics and mpg, myself and my neighbour both left town at the same time today a journey of 6 miles i arrived home as usual 20 minutes before him on my bike not having to put up with the road works and traffic jams, i enjoyed my journey his face said it all when he got out of his car.
  17. have to agree ttask, two different bikes both datatool alarm immobilisers fitted from the factory, they were a bloody nightmare, overtaking outside lane on the motorway and the engine just cut out, yamaha dealers were crap could not find the problem yet a little back street garage took one look and as soon as he saw datatool was fitted just laughed 10 minutes later he had it sorted, alarms and immobilisers stick them in the bin big chain all the way,as others have said if they want it they will have it.
  18. yep up for that just give me a bell.
  19. should have given me a shout as i went up that way today.
  20. great photos the ones of the crimea look fantastic, some good trips red nice to see how other bikers do things.
  21. ah the common idle problem! its more than likely dirt in the carb this problem has been much discussed o the r6-forum,before you try and adjust idle try sea foam as your in the states as many others have found this cures it,yamaha do recommend that you dont mess with the idle adjustment but plenty of folk do but be aware its very sensitive.
  22. an hour, god what would i do for the other 58 minutes glad i didnt reply.
  23. there isnt one but i once made the mistake of putting my e mail up and within days was getting 20 plus e mails a day for viagra, russian girls and penis enlargements. maybe 20yrs ago i might have been intrested but not now at my age,my bike is the only thing i get my leg over.
