  1. I couldn't find a thread about this issue, but on my Tx500, I have removed the old seals, which didnt come off completely, and I am trying to install new ones. Here's my dilemma. If youre looking down into the lower fork tube, you have a "flange" that the fork seals sits below(thats how they were when I took them out). and with all my might, I am having trouble getting the seal past this "flange." Since the diameter of the seal and its rigidity is bigger than the diameter of this flange I am flabbergasted on how I am going to get this thing in? I have already ruined one seal trying to force it in with a socket and mallet. Am I missing something? I feel like I am missi…

Hey all Jordan here, Im 17 years old from sheffield As I recently got a full time job around 10 miles away and public transports stupid prices I needed another way to travel, So I decided to pass my CBT and get a bike! I did look around for a while before buying one and ended up being stuck between a XR 125 and a XT 125, Was also considering a DT 125 as i saw one going cheap, I ended up getting a XT simply because it was cheaper then the XR, Does more miles to a full tank and looks nicer then the XR. Now I have been riding the XT around 4 months and the snows come to a end it's time to make it look the part, So a few days ago I went out and ordered myself a …

Hello folks! Liam here, 25 years old from Gloucestershire and a 2-stroke noob!! I used to have a nice Suzuki Bandit N600 (96 plate), But due to the snow early 2010 I got rid of it and picked up a cheap, very non-cheerful 125 that dealt with the snow fantastically. Since June (when I finally decided to get rid of it for good!), I have been without a bike and earlier this week I managed to bag myself a bargain and am now the proud owner of a 1998 DTR 125! The bike unfortunately had been taken off of the road and turned into a Motocross bike for use in the Rhonda Valley. I do however fully intend to get it up together for road use once again. …

Hey I've already posted on the forum but I missed this section! I'm Dean from Manchester UK and I'm 17 currently in the progress of getting my test done! I have a Yamaha XT 125 R at the minute which isn't my favourite bike, but it'll do till I pass! Recently got my XT, beforehand I had a road legal pit bike which was really fun but... well it was chinease - but still fun because of its size! Only pic I have of my pitbike is whilst it was being built so there was a lot of bits hanging off: And heres one of me on my XT the day I got it: About to embark on a 2.5 hour trip from Birmingham to Manchester on a bike that does 65 flat out.…

Hi All, Just to say hello and thank you for letting me join the club, could not resist buying a dead bike from a scrap yard and info from here has helped me a lot, if you have seen the bike please feel free to let me know what you think of it, I saw this bike back in the 1970s and wanted it but could not afford to buy one.

G,Day Just posting to announce myself. I'm returning to an everyday rider as a lifestyle choice. Why, who bloody knows, sanity? stupidity? ego? resisting the ageing process? or just flying high on life despite myself. either way i found myself a yamaha fj1100 to resurect as my ride of choice, ( yeah i know what most younger riders think of older bikes.) yet then i grew up on those and know they can outperform my skills so why not. plus if i break it i can fix it. about me....... Nik ---- Doa = Dead on Arrival = live life 100% until it ends. why die wondering if only i did?????? to hell with that im alive now. Name ---- Ian = mum (hated writing maybe…

I'm a new member from the colonies (Canada) and joined as I'm a Yamaha owner once again. While my first bike was a Yamaha (1964 YA6, 125cc single) and my longest ridden bike was also Yamaha (1979 XS11, 17 Years), my recent purchase of a 1966 YM1 (305cc Catalina) is the only Yamaha in the shed. I've been riding since 1967, currently campaigning a 2000 BMW R1100RT with 180K kms on the clock, and have a few too many projects, completed and not, filling up the available space. Interests are bike restoration, vintage racing, photography and snooker. That's enough of the boring stuff. I'll make a separate post shortly but my immediate need is to find some bits for the YM1…

Hi all, Just ordered my new XVS 1300. Traded in my ZZR 1200 against a silver XV after weeks of "Shall I, Shan,t I" Looked at your forum and the XV seemed to please the people posting, so took the plunge. Going to miss the power, especially on our annual trip to Scotland with the mates on their ZZR 1400, ZZR 1200, GSXR 1000, R1, CB 1000 and Sprint 1050, but will have a Harley Sportster and a VN 900 to cruise with. Hope you don,t mind if I post with questions later as I get used to the bike. Cheers, Bill. Sheffield
