One winter morning a couple was listening to the radio over breakfast. They heard the announcer say, "We are going to have 8 to 10 inches of snow today. You must park your car on the even-numbered side of the street, so the snowplows can get through." Norman's wife goes out and moves her car. A week later while they are eating breakfast again, the radio announcer says, "We are expecting 10 to 12 inches of snow today. You must park your car on the odd-numbered side of the street, so the snowplows can get through." Norman's wife goes out and moves her car again. The next week they are again having breakfast, when the radio a…

Thought I would check the oil on the XL185 today and it was low. Tookthe dipstick out but then got involved with charging a battery on a scooter so forgot to tighten it. Then went for 10km ride to get something. Outside the shop noticed puddle of oil under the bike..looked closer..NO DIPSTICK..and back of bike full of oil. Oil was already low so thought now there is nothing in there. Rode it home very gently with a gaping hole where the dipstick was and made it back ok...no funny noises developed (says something about these old engines). Retraced my ride with the DT but no dipstick lying anywhere. So guess I`m in the market for a Honda XL185 dipstick.

Why? Why me? I am trying to sell a bike at the moment, not the best time of year to sell a bike, but its a winter bike - originally bought for the wife. Now we are with sprog its surplus to requirements. So why do I only get calls from fuggin' idiots? I had a couple turn up last weekend, I rolled it out of the garage and they both had a look of mild disgust on their faces, I knew it wasnt going to go well. I suppose its partly my fault, the advert says W reg bike (old W reg) £300. But this pair thought £300 got them a new W reg bike, after some kicking of tires and poking and asking some fairly insulting questions, they told me they had just been to a bike sho…

Doing the run home and the back wheel started feeling a bit light. Checked and low and behold a huge bloody nail in the back wheel. Not that technically proficient yet so off to an expert to get it fixed (when I get time & cash). Bloody training it again till then.....Moan over. How much do you think it would cost to get the puncture repaired? It's an XVS 125 tubed wheel.

Got a bloody section 59 yesterday for doing a professional photography session on a unused beach on my motorbike (fully road legal). Just wondering if any one knows of any one I can write to with a petition to get some legal land for us to ride on as there is no where for over 20 miles. I no I prob won't get any where but I'm fed up with it police thinking they rule everything and are bigger than me they do not even no how to issue a section 59 I had to tell them how to do it they wanted to take the bike straight away but I told them if they want to do that they got to catch me but if they give me a section 59 I'll cooperate I'm not a little chav on a battered old…

Right... Don't make many posts, but I am losing the will to live with my Suzuki GP100! I have my FZR600R which is currently having its winter strip and service, and last year in September, I stupidly decided to buy myself a little project, non runner to learn about the amazing 2 stroke engines. So... £200 non-runner GP100 local, decided to buy, clean to a certain degree and get on the road for a laugh! BUT I am facing a huge problem and would really appreciate your opinions on how to solve my Suzuki problems! I have so far... Completely stripped the bike to just the frame, completely removed all paint and rust, re-sprayed and lacquered Split engine,…

Picture this..... its Friday, you're looking forward to a nice ride tomorrow, Cornwall to Bournemouth. See some mates, see my mum, and then (wait for it) go and see Gary Moore. A mixture of friends, family and a guitar god. Only thing that might spoil it is the rain, but a new oversuit will fix that. Call Damerells in Indian Queens and tell them you're running late, can you pay for it over the phone and get them to leave it outside somewhere? "I'm only going to be 5 or 10 minutes late" I said...... "We'll wait for you" came the reply.... I hammered over in the pi$$ing rain.... got there SIX minutes late (45 minute journey in 33 minutes) and all the ba$tards had gone…

I'm working on a small engine that has low compression when turning it over by hand, seems to be low on power and mucks the oil up quickly. I'm guessing low compression due to worn rings/bore/piston. Anyway, since it's a shitty little engine and I don't wanna spend the cash on a new cylinder I'm wondering if I I could get away with just honing the cylinder? Or would a bore and an oversize piston be a better idea? (If that's cheaper than a new cylinder)

hey, i was driving on the interstate the other day. Um, trying to keep up with my friends who do not have dualsports. anyway, the gas line going into the carbs blew off. The bike was still running fine on the interstate probably because she was all the way opened up. when i pulled off, the engine flooded and it turned off. i eventually put the fuel line back onto the nipple for the carbs. But now whats happening is this. With the gas off everythings okay, no leaking. THe engine just is really flooded if i kick it over and it won't start. When i turn the gas on, fuel starts coming out of the fuel emissions line.(the tube that is hanging underneath the bike, …
