Hey people recently bought a dtr 125.. Top speed stops at 50? Man who had it before said he bought it boggy and his local shop said the jet was to high and power value had been tweeked! The bike is fully restricted, with dep pipe on.. Do you think it's possible they put the wrong jet size in? Loses power on high revs? Does anyone know the standard jet size for a 1990 dtr 125? Many thanks brad

Hi guys im hoping somone can help i have recently upgraded from a pit bike to a DTR125, It starts and runs fine except one thing, when you pull off the engine wants to die sometimes it does sometimes it bogs down a bit then starts to accelerate, as soon as i am going about 5 miles an hour the problems stops and runs really well goes through all gears you can feel the power valve it is just when you get to a slow speed it wants to die. the worst is hill starts. it seems to get better after about an hour of running but hoping i can get thsi sorted. I dont know if it matters but it used to be a road bike all elctrics have been stripped and auto oil mixer removed too. …

Hey, the ypvs is not working properly on my dtr.. When i start the ignition the pulley moves the valve as normal. Then i start the bike and the ypvs seems fine. The pulley is moving but suddenly it just stops?? It can stop at any time, after the first rev or after a short trip. I have tried to look after people having the same problem but it seems like people ypvs do not move at all or it works. I have removed the power valve, cleaned it so tjat it moves freely, i have adjusted the pulley cables (many times!) and i have opened the servo too see if everything is good. I have hear it can be the pv controller or the cdi, but these are expensive parts so is …

Hi Am in desperate need of some information regarding the Yamaha Enticer 125cc..... I have recently bought the bike with the intention of fixing it up as a bike to learn on,,, but i have found out the bike was made in India, and no one in the UK can give me any advice on parts, as most have never even heard of it. The bike has suffered some front end damage and new forks and wheel are needed...... Question..... Is there another bike that has the same fork measurements... My yolk size is 30mm hole and 185mm centres, the yolk stem is also 30mm. It may be possible to buy a complete front end from another bike if the stem is the same size,, i was told the virago xv 125 m…

Olivier Pain “As always it’s a pleasure to be back in South America. This will be my seventh time here for the Dakar but I’m still surprised by the warmth of the people and the welcome they give to the competitors. At the moment we are in a hotel about 70 kilometres from the centre of Buenos Aires, the perfect place to relax, acclimatise and recover from the flight. But even here, away from the hustle and bustle of the city, the other hotel guests come up to us to wish us luck and politely ask for an autograph. We’ll stay here for a night. The whole team celebrated the New Year together and then it was be quickly off to bed. We’ll save the big celebrations for when we arr…

Week 1 "Still, if we look at the route a bit more closely we can make some educated guesses about what to expect. The first day is a long stage but a short special, 663 and 175 kilometres respectively. It has been billed as a giant prologue without major difficulty and that seems entirely logical. Clearly the challenge is to not get carried away and do anything stupid right at the start of the race, while making sure to be up with the front runners and not stuck in the dust of the mid-pack riders, to be well positioned for the stages prior to crossing over the Andes into Chile." "From the second stage on you could say that the Dakar ‘proper’ gets under way with two to…

Hi i have a 2001 Yamaha fazer 600 which i have only just bought, the problem i am getting is that when i am driving and open the throttle quickly... i get a jerking through the bike as if something is making it hold back. i have replaced the coil packs anlong with the spark plugs so i know it cant be a misfire, it is as if it is coming from the front sprocket area. when i put the bike on the centrestand, and put it into 1st.... the chain seems to jump about and make a horrible noise like a banging. there is also a clicking noise when i spin the rear wheel. i am really stuck for ideas. Thanks.

Hi there, Has anyone had any experience of re-spraying a frame using S.A.S. 27 Glass Black Paint (acrylic)? I'm just wondering how hard wearing the finish would be. Any tips on how you prepared the frame and applied it would be appreciated. Alternatively, has anyone used powder coating? Cheers, Johnners
