  1. Gents, Ok so now I have this machine that can do (supposedly) 140 MPH and on a weekly basis I'm now working a few days a week in Brixham so have 80 miles to cover to get there. A30 to Bodmin and A38 through Plymouth and beyond. I like going fast like the next man and certainly the A30 from Bodmin to Truro is pretty much deserted after 7PM on a Thursday. Once again last week cruising at 160 Kph (100 Mph) sustained is good going and pretty pleasant on the FJ. So on a straight and quiet stretch ...... ok lets see what this thing can do ...... but at 190 (195) Kph/118 Mph the influence of the wind just gets too much and uncomfortable and starts bobbing your …

Anybody have ideas about how to "restore" or replace theses lights? They are currently of the original type and whilst the lenses, bulbs and fittings are fine the "plastic" chrome surround and rubber seals are a bit tatty.

Although I`m a stickler for original..couldn`t take it anymore and decided to get the RD going faster (I need this bike to do power wheelies). I`m told jetting does not have to be changed so just gonna bolt them on and see how she goes. These are locally made Bosson exhausts..made just 12km from my house. They reckon 20-30% more power.

The Bike: 1989 DT200 (2 stroke dual sport). Liquid cooled, kick start, basically a liquid cooled Blaster 200 engine with a powervlave. The Issue: Doesn’t run, just sputters, backfires and dies. History: Was running mint. Non-starting issue was an intermittent problem, but it hasn’t been running for about 2 months now, so I think the problem’s here to stay. It will start up first kick, sputter for an exciting 5 seconds, backfire and die. Engine is non-responsive while it's doing it's 5 second sputtering routine. What I’ve Checked/Done: Compression: Running about 200psi. Spark: Plenty of spark at the plug when I kick it over. Spark will jump a 7mm gap. Nice …

Got some fairly hefty scratches on the tank of the XJ6 (tank bag related). As it's a metallic blue (2009/10 bike), I'm a bit reluctant to use T-cut. Does anyone have any recommendations for polish that will sit over the scratches, rather than taking the paint back?

Hey everyone. Im having issues with my V50 atm where my exhaust is full of oil. The previous owners use to run car engine oil through the pre mix system instead of normal 2 stroke oil (it says motor oil on the cap and they got confused) so im wondering what methods are best to clear it out so the bike can breath. Cheers

Well guys - firstly, I wanted to say sorry for not making it to Squires this year. Looking through the photos & videos it did look like a cracking time. Oh well, there's always next year. Basically, things have been a little manic at work with me, and this weekend rather snuck up. Any way, looking through my work calendar I'd realised I'd booked Monday and Tuesday off work, great! There were two things I'd told myself last year - firstly that I would do another Iron Butt ride (what's wrong with me?!) and secondly that I would go and explore Scotland. The decent weather is rapidly running out on us and I've not been out on the bike as much as I'd hoped, so a…

I have been riding 125's now for four years now and I really need to move on, I planned on doing the test this year but got made redundant in January and it completely messed my life up financially. I am definitely ready for a bigger bike. I think I didn't do it sooner because I was scared of failing. I love my WR and will still keep it, my plan is to buy a superbike to use on a weekend and keep the WR for commuting. The fuel economy is excellent and it is comfortable to ride. I'm just in the process now of learning the theory and hazard perception and once I have passed that I will be straight in for the practical. I'm working that many hours lately that I don't get much…

Rant Rant Moan Moan! Probably should post this in workshop, but I need a moan too. On the way to work today, thinking "hmm, that engine sounds a little off...", stopped at a junction... and the engine stalled. Tried to start it back up; it'd catch then instantly die again. Discovered that if I gave it some initial revs it'd keep running. If I slowly rolled off the throttle, it'd keep running. If I blipped it, or quickly rolled off, it'd instantly stall. Now, I think it was fine in getting off, because the engine temp was only ~50C and the EFI was still giving it a bit more welly. Once it warmed up, it was back to normal, and the basically …

Just bought myself an RG250 Gamma: looks a but scruffy, but feels as tight as a post christmas waist band. Can't wait to get out on it - i'd forgotten how smooth multicylinder 2 strokes were (last one I had was a 350 YPVS, which i sold in 2000). Will put new plugs in and change the gearbox oil - anything else i need to remember.

I was wandering around my local bike mechanic/dealer and found something very unusual. A big old air cooled 4 cylinder, sort of thing you'd expect to see in a Z1000, but it had a King and Queen seat, and had a semi cruiser style and a big tear drop tank. Poor thing looked like it had been laying on it'#s side in a shed for decades. Didn't have any identificatgion on it apart from a Yamaha badge on the tank. Kinda as if someone had stuck a 4 cylinder air cooled motor into an xs650 Does anyone have a single clue what it could have been?

Had the fazer for a year now, my only grouch is that I am finding the clutch lever heavy going in town traffic, and suspect the same would be the case on a trackday. I gone through the lever/cable connections/adjustments etc, well lubricated, and cant get it any lighter. I consider that I have 3 options. 1) Convert to hydraulic (looks to be around £250 min spend) 2) Lighter clutch springs (may lead to clutch slippage/variation in pick up point) 3) Some thing like these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/YAMAHA-FZ6-FAZER-2004-2010-LONG-BLACK-BRAKE-CLUTCH-LEVERS-SET-TRACK-RACE-R12B2-/231408112680?hash=item35e0ff9428:g:~RUAAOSwDk5T91-i Has anyone f…

Hey guys and gals, hope all is well? Not been on in some time as been having a right old nightmare! Keeping a very long story short I managed to kill the bandit! All that effort down the pan after the bottom end going bang in the most spectacular way on the way home from work. So she has now gone to a new brave owner after selling it for spares n repairs. But not all is doom and gloom, today me and the wife just made a trip up to Swindon to purchase a rather nice 1998 XJR1200 for a not so bad price And will be delivered next Thursday. took it out on a test ride and to be fair I really didn't want to go back to the shop, just wanted to keep going and going! So ea…

Hi all Sorry if I've put this in the wrong section, I'm new to this site but desperately need advice. It all started about a week or two ago, I got my ignition barrel changed on my YBR 125 and since then the bike has been struggling to go into neutral, it isn't smooth at all although changing between gears is fine and it's been running perfectly. Anyway, I've had this issue before and it was just that the clutch cable was too loose, so I figured maybe it got loosened during the ignition change, so I thought nothing of it and adjusted the cable today. When I adjusted it the engine was switched off, but I tried flicking it in and out of neutral and it was smooth so I t…

Ok, mk 2 post. After having to use the bike early last year due to car issues my front wheel is suffering from white death, add that to a worn front tyre and well, you know....So I'm ooking at replacing the wheels in the tdr, the wheels I fancy (Aprilia Yspokes/6spoke) have bigger bearings and I have got hold of the dimensions from tdr.co.uk for the Cagiva mito which is pretty much the same axle kit, certainly use the same bearings. Won't know for rock steady certain till I actually have the wheels if these dimensions are right for the RS and if anybody has an idea to what kind of costs would the spacers/bushes be. Would be nice to have an idea before getting t…

This fat bitch got in my way and I ran into her but that was her fault not mine. And the bikes were crap too.Little Hondas and slow as fuck. But I still wheelied it first time out and wheelied it onto the cones too. Nobody else could do that and they passed. The bloke was a prick though. I was thinking about going to another school cos they are shit.
