came off the gsxr last night late at night going home from my gf's. back end went, then caught and flung me off. tried to save it but it just went round way too far. knee's a bit of a mess as is my hand and my right thigh the gsxr's not too pretty either! thats the first time i've ever came off on the hard stuff, not nice. and the noise the gixxer made going down the road was horrible. off my work now till i can get my knee to bend properly again. feel fooking stupid, i knew it was icy guess i'll have to street fighter my bike unless i can get panels for the fairing. vikki's pissed off with me, as is my dad understandably so looks like i fooked up a bit

And the victim this time was Yam100RX-S who decided to be as disruptive as possible running round the site hurling abuse. As all the others in the past (and there's been a lot) will tell you.....we don't tolerate people trashing our house. Yam100RX-S.....you are the weakest link....Goodbye!

Hello there fellow riders, After owning a TT600RE for 6 months, and having just weighed my Honda XL1000 Varadero in against a lovely XT660Z (well, it's not everyones cup of mint tea!) I though I'd jump in and join this forum. I tried to find a picture of the right colour but Yamaha just don't have one on thier site - probably cos it looks crap in Desert Khaki (in a picture). Anyway, I pick the bike up on Friday and I hope it's all it's hyped to be as I'm off on a mega-trip in the summer, if you are at all interested, you could visit my website and find out more : Smokingtailpipes If you'd like to leave a message, use the contact buttons. Hello all, I am joining this forum to hopefully get some information about R6's, what is best for them and hints a tips on anything from general up-keep, to best parts and servicing centres. I don't even have a bike or a bike license yet But, I am doing my theory soon (hopefully) and doing my DAS on or around Spring 2009. Anyway, my first bike (and this might be a bad idea) will hopefully be a '08 R6. The reason for this choice of bike is I intend to tour Europe with some friends I have that already have bikes, but, I want a bike that’s fun when I am at home too. Cheers for all the help you guys (and gals) can offer

Rant on. Just been into town to get some 2c oil and see some mates, decided to fill up at tescos garage on the way back. forecourt was pretty packed with all the back spaces occupied but 2 or 3 open at the front, i joined a cue of two cars, one of which pulled into the air/water pumping station so i went between two cars which were filling up and pulled into one of the front spaces, leaving plenty of room so the cars behind me could get out (one of which did so without a problem). after i was done refueling i was approached by some miserable bastard who went on about me being a selfish bugger because i was not waiting my turn in the line, which would be fai…

Hello and thanks in advance for your input. I do not currently ride a motorcycle, but, am planning on taking the safety course and buying a bike before the end of the year. I have been wanting to ride all of my life and am finally in a position to do so. Being that I have no experience I wanted your advice on which Yamaha cruiser to buy....I was considering the V-Star 950 but don't know if that would be to much bike at this stage of the game. What do you think? I am in my 30's 5'11 and 185lbs in case that needs to be factored in.

I'm thinking about getting a bike more than likely and R6, but i was looking around for insurance rates and the lowest I could find was around $1100 a MONTH! is it just me or is that insane? I mean i know i'm a 20 year old single guy, but i've taken drivers safety classes for cars and bikes and never been in an accident. So my question is who are you guys insured with and what are your rates?

With quite a number of us keeping 'older bikes' on the road, I was just wondering what does everyone keep in stock in their shed/workshop/under the bed! I've got a lot of bulbs and a spare clutch cable, a spare set of indicator lenses for my DT and I keep a number of oil filters for my 400/4 with a spare throttle cable but thats about it. I know that there are many spares available on ebay and the like, but in a few years time it might not be the same. If i keep my MX for another 8 years it will be 40 yrs old. Buying and keeping a spare set of seals might not be such a good idea as over time the rubber will harden and perhaps start to perish and all the time th…

Recommendations on which helmet to get? I'm looking to spend $200-$300 on a full face style. Since I am on old fart , hold the comic book/superhero/deathwish graphics. A plain ole red or black or grey bucket, thanks very much. With a sprinkling of snow on the ground and it being -9C, the bike season is well and truly done around here. so i'm hoping to score a winter deal on a helmet. When I last biked, the big manufacturers (that I recall) were Bell, Shoei, and Arai.. AGC and Nolan were around too. My local dealer stocks stuff like Zox, HJC, as well the above brands and other brands that I don't recall just now. They are a fairly large dealer. (About 300 bikes…

Hi all, have a read at this post please, and chip in with your notion of pro's and con's, its spreading so keep an eye on a forecourt near you, personaly I think it could turn a whisper into a shout, The price of oil is as low as it has been for a while, the oil companies have simply jacked their prices up and the government will not do anything as they rake in extra VAT for every increase. See what you think and pass it on if you agree with it We are hitting 114.9 a litre in some areas now, soon we will be faced with paying 1.50 a ltr. Philip Hollsworth offered this good idea: This makes MUCH MORE SENSE than the 'don't buy petrol on a certain…

The amount of times since getting my bike in March it has lashed it down is unbelievable. My whole street has more or less flooded now. Looks like it's going to be a while before I can go for a ride. I've ventured out in the rain before with waterproofs etc, but its not very nice and its dangerous, especially when the rain is this hard. Looks like its due to piss it down for the next week at least.

Hey peeps, Was outside the block having a smoke earlier when i caught a glimpse of my poor DT, sat over in the car park covered in shite, long story short its now in my bedroom. ive taken the tank/seat off and started running the wires through to make a new wiring loom, other than that this is the condition it was in when i loaded it into the back of my Kia all the way from Colwyn Bay to Didcot . It's just like a little puppy that looks at you with a cute face after taking a dump in your bed, you just wanna give it a cuddle :3 behind it there's a rear window for a classic mini, two mini exhausts sat beside it, a weight bar i never use, a guitar that…
