Finally passed my mod 2 and despite half hearted promises (mainly to the mrs) about keeping the ybr's fuel economy and cheap parts it just doesn't feel right after riding an xj6! I'm on a bit of a budget and have seen a few of the older xj600n's knocking around on eBay and auto Trader at a bargain price. For people that have owned them, are they fairly decent year-round commuters, or would I be better off trying to wait for a mid mileage fz6 or (if it's not swearing to mention on here) a S**uki SV or Bandit? Are there any common issues I should be looking out for if I buy one? Looking on Google it seems like the exhausts are quite expensive to replace. For selli…

  3. Hello everyone, A while ago I moved from Spain to the UK and settled down in West Yorkshire. I've been driving here for many years on business trips, but only on four wheels. Every country I lived in so far had a different code of behaviour for riders (not necessarily bound by law), and I'd like to understand the do's and don'ts specific to the UK. My main questions: 1. During rush hour traffic, is it acceptable to ride between slowly-moving car lanes? What the Americans call lane-splitting. Will it attract negative attention from the police or other road users? Any difference between local roads and highways in that respect? 2. In simi…

Hello Guys It's been a while since I've been on here and I hope you are all well. I'm hoping you can help me on this one because I'm stumped. Bled my rear brake and put new pads in on my MT09, made sure there is no air in the system and pads are seated correctly. As soon as I bolt calliper back on to mount I loose pressure (rear brake doesn't work) but when I unbolt calliper and just rest it on the disc it works perfectly. I've checked for leaks but can't see anything and the piston and piston seal are fine. Any help will be much appreciated.

  5. So I just bought a 2008 MT03 660 with 3,000 miles in hilariously good condition. Thing is all stock with no new parts or mods. I love the position and torque and knew full well it would be a vibey Bike. However at about 5000 RPMs the vibe is so intrusive that I get blurred vision, a bit of a chatter in my teeth, and am left with a headache the next day. Is there any way to combat this? I’m mostly a B-road rider, but do also cruise at 50/55 mph. I regularly enjoy rising 8-hour days and your Europe so headaches the whole time sucks. I love the bike, torque, pop and punch, etc - but not sure I can put up with how bad the vibrations are. Seat gel? Rubber mounting? …

Hey people, just wanted opinions on helmets. My shark is now 5 years old and i can honestly say i absolutely detest the fking thing. Its heavy, massively noisy and has never really felt truly comfortable. So, as a result I'm finally looking for a replacement, couldn't give a f who its made by as that seems irrelevant to what you get, just adds price, comfortable and quiet really, heavy on quiet as i really can't seem to find ear plugs that are comfortable for any distance. At least not for the row this shoei makes. Nb, i will accept part of the noise issue is due to the shape of the TDR with the wind hitting high on your chest/chin from the s…

Yo Guys, I'm thinking of buying a new house soon and then get my bike. Was just wondering whether you guys keep your bike in a garage or not? Will it be safe to park your bike on a cul-de-sac driveway or in a secured shed in the garden if I bought a house without a garage? :?

This is driving me mad. I have another post asking for help diagnosing problem with my FZR (its in workshop section) but i'm getting desperate so asking for help again. Recently got the bike on road again after cosmetic repairs. Ran great for first few days, until i stopped & filled up with fuel. Instantly, bike ran lumpy, wouldnt idle, felt like its running off a cylinder. So i have cleaned plugs, checked plug leads, cleaned airbox & airfilter, stripped carbs & cleaned all the jets. None of this helped. In a random attempt to cure it, i changed the voltage regulator back to an old one (had been changed recently cos old one blows bulbs) & pro…

Hi guys, got my module 1 tomorrow morning and as I know a few people here have done it recently I was wondering if anyone had any tips? I've watched the videos, spent the last few days riding round car parks at 4mph, I'm quite confident and at the back of my mind I know its only cost me a tenner to have a go, if I pass great and if I fail at least I know what to expect for next time!

As you may be aware I sold the FZR approx a month ago. WELL, I've just bought another one! It (another 3HE) was cheap as chips and couldn't resist it. Has mot for 10 months, new tyres, new brakes. Needs fork seals done and then cosmetics tweaked to my taste

Hey all.. Very glad to be on here. I recently crashed my black and yellow R125 and am now fully recovered. The right side is rufled up... the brake lever is severly bent.. the gear lever is slightlty bent also (i think the recovery done it) Also i have no more front indicators... THe side is grazed a lot... i thnk i got the worse of it Other than that.. the bike is as sexy as ever. Anybody in the central lodon area or a guardian PLEASE to help me grectify this for the sun which is streaming through the window. Iv been of work since, so my budget isnt too ohigh also. I doubt im gonna get anything faster. The crash scared me a little. I think i'll abuse the power …

A half decent forecast for the next 3 days spurred me to try and start the Bandit up, having flattened the battery once I just managed to get it ticking over (roughly), the next 10 minutes spent trying to open the throttle which has the quirky characteristic of killing it until finally I could give it some revs. Then I noticed one header pipe didnt burn me quite as much as the other three, so then..its new plugs all round when I get some, and I have no idea what sort of job it is to change them, on first glance it looks like tank off. (not looked in the manual yet though) so its the DTR out of hibernation I guess
