  1. Just thought i'd pop this up. Guy at work has just picked up a mint, never seen rain 15000 mile 2003 gsxr 750. It is in truly stunning condition. Good value buy, not overpriced. around 2k I think he paid for it. Power commander, pipe, usual trinkets. Arm fulls of receipts, notes on when services are due and done. Receipts back years. Recommendations on the high quality oil he used etc. The polish even. Guy had to sell for financial reasons, washed it more than rode it by the sounds of it. The kicker, I have mentioned john before as the guy rides year round whatever the weather on the 400, that's a 65000 mile gsxr 400 and uses mother natures heavy rain in ap…

Hello, my name is Harvey and I own a 1987 Yamaha dt50mx that I am currently restoring. The old barrel on the bike was scortched and getting piston slap so I decided to buy a 70cc airsal kit. I found out that the VM20-273 mikuni carbs are recommended for my setup but was unable to find out what I should have my needel height or pilot jet set to. If anyone has any known information on this please leave a reply - Harvey

It's been a while since I started a new post, so thought I'd share my new toy! Picked it up last week, I'm 30 this year so I thought balls to it and had a brand new bike. Gone for the new speed twin... Pics attached. All I'll say is that it's awesome, torque for days, nice and easy to ride - even at a spirited pace Sorry it's not a yam [emoji851] Sent from my SM-G973F using Tapatalk

Well on top of all this covid bullshit were having to deal with someone has finally finished of what little faith i had in human nature today. Found someone who would fix the drive hub on my vmax. Sent it off end of Jan with the sounds of " couple of weeks, end of Feb maybe? with covid its quiet". Sounding in my ears. When i called yesterday apparently its "gone crazy", so ok, i then asked for a ball park, end of the month maybe? (that's another 4 weeks he's had it 6 ). The response of "not sure will have to see how it goes", any parent knows that's a fancy 'NO'. So at the earliest that means getting it back, May/ April. Once i get it back its not just a ca…

Well if you aint sick of it yet, Day1, its bollocks,, Heres an example, they had to lock off the wind tubines last year,[ too windy] AND they still get paid downtime [ £280million],, So rather than give us cheaper electicity [ so we wont use oil&coal heating ] do they fk, it all about profit,, And they were givvin massive grants to install the bloody thing too, Next news we here is, there about to plant MORE fkn wind turbine in the north sea, which will power enuff for 2/3 of the scottish homes, .. fkn ell were locking em off ,and still planting the fkn things,, [ subsidised no doubt, Scam.----..And weve 2 or 3 massive Hydro plants ,that get…

My headlight and tail light bulbs blow within a minute. I don't know much, but do know some. It wasn't the earth. These two lights get their electricity straight from the magneto, not via the battery. So I reckon it is basically that the voltage regulator isn't working right, and that is what is blowing them. I think it is under the tank. I'm sorting a little problem with my magneto at the moment, so i know the lighting coils are good and so is the condenser, so i would like to just continue a bit further and get the headlight and tail light working. I suppose the best thing would be to replace the parts like the regulator and whatever. I wouldn't be able to test the…

Hi after some help with a transmission bearing please. Im rebuilding my yz125 2003 and need to replace one of the transmission bearings. The bearings is an ntn 6304x3nx2. It has a snap ring on the outer race. Is this just a normal 6304 bearing with snap ring or is it a specific bearing made for yamaha? As I am having trouble locating one without going to yamaha direct and paying the privilege. Thank you in advance, Tom

Hello and first post from a newbie. Bought a badly kept XV 650 to turn in to a bobber. Stripping it down and when I removed the tank I found that the 2 plastic covers over the wiring (it also surrounds the ignition keyhole) was brittle and parts broken. Need to get a replacement but cannot find on the service manual what this part is called? If I am not making myself clear I can post some pictures later. Thanks in advance.

Hello all, im pulling my hair out over my D Reg DT125LC (1986). I bought this a year or so ago for my little bro so he can come out with me when I go green laning.... It was working fine then all of a sudden had an intermittent fault where if would 'race' and basically fart about... Took it to my local mechanic who said it was the main seals and bearings gone and drawing in air so paid loads to have the engine fully rebuilt with new bearing, conrod, piston, etc... Worked fine for a quick ride but then started again... Took it back to him as and we were stripping it I touched the CDI area and it all started to work fine. Im pretty sure that is not a cable/loom as I can…

Good Morning, I ended up with a 1964 Yamaha YA6 which I have gone through. I went to start and it has no spark. I checked the wiring, changed out the regulator, coil and starter/generator/dynamo. It has lights, signals, horn, brake light which all work, but I can't get a spark. When I pulled the bike apart the white wires (armature circuit) was melted, I fixed that. Otherwise I'm stumped, please help! Cheers

Well, as some of you may have noticed, there have been one or two slight, minor, hardly noticeable changes to the Forums... I'm sorry, I'm English, sometimes we don't realise that Sarcasm Mode is engaged! So, long and short of it, I blame Alex, he broke it!!! lol No seriously, there's been an upgrade to Invision v5, and it obviously hasn't gone as smoothly as possible. I got this message from Alex last night: Hi Paul, Hope all is well. I've seen your comments on the board but can't respond! The upgrade to v5 of the forum software has been a disaster. It was fully tested in the same environment, applications etc. I also waited for two revisions after the v5 went live t…
