  1. Rofl... You're too fast for me drewpy, I was just in the process of posing on that Indonesian spam post! I had the witty start (referencing the Monty Python spam song), a request for blocking and removal, and a vague insult in Indonesian for the poster!!! But you'd already taken it down before I could post! lol
  2. You could always take one of those strap thingies that go over your wheel, then they could strap to that...
  3. Never mind... Sorted! It appears that the local council does MOTs!
  4. May not be the correct place for this, but..: Does anyone know of a MOT only place around Wakefield/Leeds area for cars? We've had some trouble in the past with places trying to get work done that wasn't needed, so the idea is: If we get the MOT done at a place that does nothing but MOTs, they have no vested interest to make stuff up! Any ideas anyone?
  5. The keys aren't a huge thing, but it WILL annoy you. You just have to decide how homicidal you get before you need to make them a set again! lol But for now, all you're looking for is to get everything working. Keep an eye on E-Bay for a 2nd hand set from a breakers, stuff turns up all the time, and a key set gives you little to no reliability worries...
  6. I suspect neither of them are set at factory settings...
  7. Yeah, that does look a little rough! And possibly like it's frame has been modified! lol. I like that you're apparently fixing some of it with a hammer though...
  8. Welcome in... Couldn't comment on sprocket gearing, but, worth getting the part number from somewhere like Fowlers Parts | Genuine Motorcycle Parts & Spares, then running searches for 2nd hand options, or going to somewhere like Yambits : Yambits - Yamaha Parts for new... It WOULD have been all the same key (ignition, seat & fuel cap), the only way to get a matching set now though, is to replace all of them... It MAY be that you could get a locksmith to alter one, but it wouldn't be cheap!!!
  9. Here's a piece of thread necromancy... So, to add to this thread, I have a different question: 1/ Is the 750s 6 speed gearing strong enough to handle the 1000r? 2/ Bearing in mind that the above numbers supplied by Alex mean ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to me, how does the 6 speed box compare to the 5 in the lower gears? Does it gain or lose acceleration (because let's face it, acceleration is what the Ace is all about!)?
  10. Welcome in!
  11. One of us... One of us... One of us..!
  12. We now have proper gauges on bikes, the light is on older bikes, before that... NOTHING..! Old bikes had a 3rd position on the fuel valve for reserve, your bike starts to chug, you switch to reserve and go find a petrol station! lol
  13. Tips: 1/ Assume everyone else on the road is out to get you... 2/ Go at your own speed, not anyone elses... 3/ Carry some spare fuel, even if it's just a ltr...
  14. After a bit of a rummage on the interwebz, check out your fuel pump first, make sure it's chucking enough fuel...

Not bad at all apart from the crack in the nose cone!
  16. Any bike, just have to be a full member here (shows you're more invested than the average guy with a helmet and something to do with it, or something)... But phone them up and get your quote FIRST, before telling them that you're a member. I may be paranoid, but there's no reason NOT to be lol.
  17. Get them put together, might have another bike there! lol
  18. It seems a fair assumption. On the other hand, have you looked at a multi-bike policy? Also, if you sub to this site, you get a discount with bikesure..!
  19. On the plus side, the shock linkages aren't expensive to pick up second hand, I ran out and got one with no problem.
  20. The blue spot callipers are damn good, if you think they're not quite up to snuff, time for a service. It's not hard, you can buy a tool (pad it when you use it, so you don't scratch up the blue bit)..! I've not had the guts to check my clutch yet. No idea when it was done last, but it's had some serious hammer for the last few years off me and doesn't seem to be slipping. So, I seem to be in an 'if it ain't broke, don't touch it' situation. Oh, for gods sakes, service that rear shock linkage! I had all sorts of trouble with mine after my swingarm stopped... (swinging)..! lol Ended up having to buy a new linkage, as apparently, my original one, had a machining fault. The central socket wasn't machined straight! Bloody typical! Anyway, they pick up a whole load of road crap, taking them apart now and again won't do them any harm at all..! There are 3rd party rear shocks out there, but unless you want to cough up some pretty serious cash, non of them seem to have the adjustability of the original. Which appears to be serviceable (by professionals).
  21. SEE! Some of these 1-2 post guys DO come back!!! I've not actually tried to post any myself yet, so I can't help you I'm afraid. But I'm sure someone will be along shortly to put you on the right track! Welcome back!
