Motorcycle Helmets, Clothing, Jackets, Gloves, Boots & Accessories (sportsbikeshop.co.uk) These guys have a set of 'white' loaners that they will let you take out for a couple of hours to try them out! As Cynic says, once things are open again...
  2. Yeah, I got confused there too. My question isn't about nuts though, it's about studs and bolts in cast aluminium... Are there any problems associated with Stainless Steel or Titanium in Aluminium castings?
  3. I don't see a lot of Brass studs/bolts being advertised. And they're pretty heavy... But you're right about the lack of reaction with steel, but I'm not so sure about it being reactionless with Aluminium.
  4. You know, when I first came across the Thunderace again, I called them Thunder Races too! Took a while to place that mental space... lol Does Alcantara feel like swede? I can't touch swede, it sets my teeth and fingernails on edge... eeew!!! rofl Ack, even just the thought of it has set me off!
  5. So, here's the main question: Is it worth swapping standard steel bolts/studs for Stainless or even Titanium? Whilst almost everyone loves shiny bolts in their engine, right now I'm particularly thinking about my exhaust studs. I'd like to swap my exhaust and like most peoples (I suspect) studs, mine are pretty manky. In order of simplicity/cheapness, the options as I see it are: 1/ Just put the new exhaust on and change the nuts. 2/ Swap out the studs and nuts for new OEM ones. 3/ Swap out the studs and nuts for Stainless Steel or Titanium. I'm not bothered by the cost of Stainless Steel or Titanium, but there's no way I'm going to even attempt to remove rusted steel studs from a cast aluminium casing, therefor I'd get a shop to do it. So either option 2 or 3 will involve extra hassle (still not worried by the extra cost, it's all about making it easier for me). But, in thinking about this a bit deeper, are there any hidden issues involved in replacing stock steel studs/bolts that go into cast aluminium? For example: Heat expansion rates? Or chemical metal reaction between Alu and SS or Ti?
  6. So, while I'm waiting for wisdom on my previous questions 😉, I have another one about my exhaust... I got it fitted with an aftermarket exhaust with no exup on it, it's not bad. The can is an ART pro series II, my question is: Can I get a replacement baffle for it (did it actually ever come with a baffle?)?
  7. Ok, start at the beginning... All the stupid answers in order of simplicity: 1/ Did you remember to turn the fuel tap back on (trust me, I've done it...)? 2/ Is there actually any fuel in the tank (not personally done this one)? 3/ Are all your fuses ok (done this one too)? 4/ Does it have a fuel pump? 5/ You'll need a compression gauge, check the compression (if you've just put a new piston in it, the rings may be bad). Well, that's pretty much most of my experience..!
  8. Does it actually turn over?

  11. I figure you pretty much solved your own question with your Topic Title... "Yamaha aerox 2009 keeps stalling with pod air filter" Stalls WITH the new filter, doesn't stall WITHOUT the filter, remove the filter..!
  12. I'm assuming it also goes in front of the lower yoke, since that's the one it's being trapped by...
  13. That lock looks like a good idea, do it! Other than that, I'd say wear good gear with body armour in it. And gloves with knuckle armour (for obvious reasons)...
  14. Aaah, I was right then. Restricted chemicals... Still, it doesn't explain why the item can't be sent back to the seller. Ask Darren that..!
  15. Possibly more than you'd want to pay, but comes with extras and look in good condition! Ebay link And coming from the UK..!
  16. It appears that they've defined them as a restricted item. Usually reserved for things like chemicals, batteries or weapons. Why they should do this for a pair of forks is beyond me. However, there are various mechanical items and vehicles that come under these restrictions, but again, I can't imagine why a pair of forks would. The important thing is, you appear to be getting your money back. Keep looking...
  17. I ride year round, and with all the weather we've been having lately they've been drowning the roads in salt, and with the lockdown, finding a jetwash open is near impossible! So, obviously the bike is taking a bit of a hammering. It doesn't help that it has a full fairing... After several slightly crap hand washes (I'm getting on and don't have a garage, so getting on my hands and knees in the freezing wet isn't easy or good lol), I've managed to find a jetwash and gave it a good 'low' pressure wash yesterday. I spent an hour messing around with it today, cleaned the chain, hand washed it, re-greased the chain and kickstand workings. Two questions: 1/ What else should I be doing? 2/ How do I polish up the aluminium bits (pegs, kick plates & rear calliper) which have suffered a bit from the salt. I assume they have a surface coating on them witch I don't want to take off unless there's no other option.
  18. Ok, so their appears to be only ONE option (same as the Thunderace). Original Part Number: 3GM2538119 Replacement Part Number: 3GM-25381-A0 There are 3 spacers (technically 4 (the rear brake calliper bracket is the 4th one)). Check out the pic I'm attaching, which spacer are you missing? And importantly, are the ones you DO have in the right order?
  19. If it's anything like a Thunderace, there should only be one option... I'll look into it when I get home tonight and let you know.
  20. Does it feel like it's lacking power, or does it feel like something is holding it back?
  21. Yeah, I was kinda worried about that...

    Hehehe...
  23. Aaah! The bike is the title! No wonder I couldn't see any info...
