Smoking
I quit using hypnotherapy, cost £140 but havent smoked for 5 years now. On the other hand, I have become the stereotypical ex-smoker. SWMBO still smokes, F**k it stinks worse than an oily exhaust. As previously stated though, it is down to habit. Sick to it for a fortnight to kill the cravings then change the habits.

XJ carbs.....
Am very interested in the kits mentioned above but have already hit a problem. I have an XJ750 RL. This is an American import but is basically our XJ900 with a 750 engine. What would be the best way to get the correct kit. Better still get some one to rebuild and set up the carbs for me as i done have access to vacuum gauges etc

I think it was Drewpy who said it in a previous thread. "You can make any engine fit into any frame if you have the cash"

Speedometer Conversion
I would like to swap my clocks over to MPH fro KMH Is it a straight swap when i can lay my hands on some, or is it a change of speedo drive too? Can i dismantle the clock assembly and just swap the speedo mechanism. This is preferred so that i can keep the clock that is in the XJ900 console but not in the 600 console.

Silencers
The new silencers arrived today. Very happy with them for what they cost. SWMBO will go Apesquit if she sees that i have had them in the front room.

1983 XJ750RL
The wiring looks like someone has poured a freshly boiled pan of spaghetti under the saddle. The clocks are pretty good looking considering the date of the bike, even though the speedo is in kmh but the clock is a nice touch. I want the rack off as it has had the tail piece drilled out to fit it and the rubber stoppers look like the tips of walking sticks. Next time I am in Gloucester I'll drop it off to you.

Reg Numbers
As and when i am permitted to buy parts (without getting kicked out to live in the shed or threatened with divorce), and actually start doing my bike up, I would like to change its number plate to something more suitable. Its currently on an age related 1983 plate. What can i go for and wheres the best place to look? whenever i look at a web page the price for the one i fancy is for some reason the most expensive. Anybody been down this road?
