  1. put the fuel pipe from the tank into a can and turn it to prime to see if you have a steady stream, it seems to me if your float bowls are nearly emptying from just revving it a bit then the fuel cant be flowing freely enough from the tank.

or buy a bigger bike, i find thats the easiest way to get more speed, i tuned a few 125s and never found it anywhere near as good fun as say,, an rd 350 with stan stephens gear all over it. i'd save my money on mods to wee bikes and spend it on something bigger. then of course, i'm old and wise now

i've had loads of shaftys i never had a bad lock up yet, though ive seen the revs climb pretty high a few times. once you've done some miles on it you'll soon get to know the limits. its not that different from chain driven bikes though a lot cleaner and cheaper. ian

the glasgow easter egg run was cancelled, theres a lot of work going on at the secc where everyone was to meet and the orginizers decided it wouldnt be safe to have ten thoosand bikes clogging up the roads, its a shame when something like that happens. didnt seem like ten thousand last year maybe a thousand but i never counted. i think the police couldnt be arsed.. still, went up to yorkhill anyway and took a few eggs for the kids in long term,,, makes you remember how lucky you are.

its the difference between half full and half empty. my answers no i dont consider every time i go on my bike i'm going to die therefore i wouldnt say it to anyone. if someone said to me jump on but you might die then i wouldnt jump on. i told my boy all about the dangers of bike pillion and his answer was simple. you dont want to die on your bike do you? the answer is obvious, therefore he knows he can trust me to be careful and not put us in a position where something would endanger us. should anything bad happen then you cross that bridge if it happens.

not much more slidy than normal when its dry though definately when it gets wet, sometimes i've noticed a bit of wheelspin when ive gunned it, can be a wee bit hairy, but i dont go for it in the winter anyway just in case, certainly dont want to test it ... ian

never mind that it is the will of the gods that ye dont come onto a forum and attack the moderators. doesnt matter what you drive. unless its a camel or a donkey then your only havin a laugh , personally i think these gsxr riders are all the same, no good useless complainers with no sense of gratitude and a hierarchy attitude that their better than everyone else. and just to prove my point check this guy with his smiling face that says look at me i can get nice blonde lithuanian sexy babes on the back of my bike. twat.

ahh the old sin dai .. banned for life..... to spend eternity in the abyss,, scared to bend over in the showers,, left for dead to all who care, spat the dummy out, ITS MA BAW AN YER NO PLAYIN RITE , no i say let him back on cos if it wasnae for him then this forum would be boring.... even though theres like thoosands of people,, oh my god what we gonnae do now ,, i miss him already, no really i do
  17. ahh meant to say... the popping your getting under deceleration is usually associated with air getting in through the carb inlet rubbers,, personally i quite like the sound of it but if yer dont then when you put the carbs on make sure there good and tight that should sort it maybe,, ahh the sweet sound of decelerated backfire, ye cannae beat it man
  18. oi tink der idle jets are the smaller of the two inside der float bowl . theres a big brass one the needle slides in and out of ooh er and theres a small brass one beside it thats the one i think. buy them off the sad demented tired kraut....here, he's pretty good and not the cheapest but the best selection of bits forra xs650. definately need bigger needles i'd say. more air in.. more gas out... more fuel required. it,ll be running lean, before you go buy needles try turning the mixture screw out a bit, its possible thar might be enuff and you could move the circlip on the main needle down a bit (TOWARDS THE POINTY END), sorry, shouting there, to let even more fuel in but then turn the idle screw out before you run it hold the revs onb der throttle and adjust it back in till its tickin over nice i think.

since i dont know what it looked like originally i think it looks very original. i've got an original 1980 zed and since i dont know what that looked like when it rolled out the factory i'd say its definately original. yes, i mean, it must be. do i care? no i dont cos its mine. all mine and i'm keeping it. the way your bike looks is definately original. and i bet the people who say its not dont have one like it. so how would they know? your absolutely definately right. who cares? not i nope not a jot.
