Are there more vintage british bikes on the road
I would call then vintage, that's usually flat tankers, but they are very nice and I do appreciate all bikes

Xs750 clutch cable route..
all the yam manuals have routing for pipes and cables, very useful. if your bike is a keeper, its worth investing in one

Cheers Paul that's the issue with faired bikes, the bike ran even better on the way home, just ran the bores in I think cheers Meat yes, nearly rammed into the back of you a few times. Hope the weather is better tomorrow, need to practice loading up and need to change the oil too

well I've finally sussed it. As usual it was a few things; 1) the exhaust cam was 1 tooth out 2) A few valve gaps were out of specs (poss due to the head bedding down) 3) re torqued the head down and it took another 1/2 turn to get the necessary torque thanks for your input fellas! it revs out and so much better the engine is a '91 xj600 in an Fz600 chassis. well I've finally sussed it. its not! got some running issues; Starts quickly with no choke and then picks up all the cylinders but have to use 1/4 throttle to do this high RPM when warmed won't rev over 6k and makes a funny noise if I push the issue spark plugs suggest rich mix before carbs rebuilt, no air leaks I'm just wondering if the skimming has affected the running ie too high compression or I've mistakenly didn't do the valve timing correctly (checked and double checked through during install) anyone comes across this or give me some pointers please? had the carbs just rebuilt and setup by NRP so no issues there. compression check next and probably recheck valve timing and gaps might have to go on the tracker, which is running great

Hello - Newbie Pre-Div XJ600 virgin saying hi . .
Dave, great read and if you need how to do the clutch, I posted it in the forum somewhere. Uses a pre-BMW mini door pin cut down and re-drill (dead easy compared to what you went through) I thought about getting an Ignitech but the price I have an FZ600 but have fitted the '91 engine, also check the primary gear near the clutch, mine was wobbly loose. there is a vibration around 5 - 6k on these, but its called character
