  1. Ah yes, the young mans aspirations of fast food, fast cars and fast women...
  2. Only problem i found when polishing my SR cases is they oxidize quicker , I use one of THESE for polishing cases as i am far too lazy to do it by hand, works well on car headlights if they start going cloudy or have lacquer peel aswell. What state is your clutch cover in?
  3. Holy crap, you polished your sprocket case like that? how did you get rid of the pitting? ive got a clutch cover that i bought and never used, would love to get it shining like you have. Fancy doing a few XJ turbo parts?
  4. Oh shush, you dont look a day over (*insert age here*)
  5. She likes motorbikes and whiskey, she'll turn out just fine
  6. Dry cider in the sunshine can you tell im a southern boy?
  7. Right now im not even sure if the car is worth it, once i can get it powered up and i know for sure its a good one i will probably end up putting new cables in.
  8. Ick, Last time i touched that stuff was when Airhead gave me a glass of it whilst trying to set my tent up in the dark... certaintly warmed the cockles though.
  9. Hmmm... man cave... with a mini bar? yes that would be awesome... may end up with a few more DTs though...
  10. I ended up in leicester and went to bed about midday when i got back, was knackered
  11. ta for rubbing it in, i will be thinking of you all nice and warm in your well-lit shed when im rolling around under the bikes in the rain pulling tarmac out of my ass crack.
  12. I meant with the shed, here i am working away in a freezing car park, no fair!, i want a man cave
  13. holy crap, where've you been all my life?
  14. Welcome Good choice of bike, iirc Andrew won the "longest distance rode on a two stroke" at Squires on his SR125... 170 miles i think it was?... and i was complaining about 130 miles on a fireblade! . Dont worry, we dont bite... some of us dribble a bit though (mainly the more 'vintage' members...)
  15. I cant remember if the chains are split link or expanded jobbies on these, when i had my DT i used to take the chain off and drop it into a pot of old engine oil over the weekend, just dont do it in your mums shed, somehow the pot got knocked over and left a slick all over the floor, she went f*cking mental.
  16. hi there peeps. Ive recently picked up a Mitsubishi FTO with the 1.8 straight-4 engine in the hope that it will be cheaper to run/insure than my 2.0 V6 FTO. only problem is i bought it as spares or repair, the drivers side window was smashed and the battery leads cut before the scumbags made off with the battery including the clamps and leads. ive replaced the window and i now need to splice a new length of cable to extend the existing cables to reach the battery box. The cables i need to splice are 7mm diameter and 10mm diameter, soldering is unlikely to work as i dont have a soldering iron meaty enough to tackle the job, so i am looking to use an inline crimp/splice, has anybody used these before or know where i can find some?. much love peeps. foamy
  17. If i didnt know any better, peeps. i'd have thought you were trying to get me into trouble...
  18. Looks like you've pretty much hit the ground running from what I can see, ihad the'83. SR as a project (see "project mong" in the project section.) I have a spare front wheel and clutchsprings left over if you need them, one thing that cannot be stressed enough is routine maintenance, the SR is a bulletproof engine so long as you keep changing your oil nd generally look after it, too many suffer top-end failure due to neglect.
  19. I get 2 weeks off work, 2 weeks in which i intend to spend as much time shitfaced as possible, avoid arguments with the family and stay inside as much as possible so that my ass doesnt freeze off..
  20. I have my fingers in many pies, occasionally one goes cold.
