Would there be interest in fibre glass parts/vinyl wrapping?

This is literally JUST an interest thread, this is not me advertising my services. I'm looking to branch out into the above. I was thinking that some of the more popular/expensive parts such as seat cowls and possibly race noses for the bikes such as R125's, R1's, R6's and so on...so they can be interchanged on track days and so on. Also replacement panels to cut down on the cost of replacing with new if need be.

Also vinyl wrapping, singular parts, whole bikes and so on.

I simply need to get an idea of what level of interest there would be and then go corporate on here (I believe in paying my dues!) and going from there.

Let me know in this thread, no prices as yet but the fiber glass parts will be roughly 50% that of standard genuine items and even cheaper on groups buys. Vinyl wrapping would be a bespoke service. I'll set up pricing if/once I've got enough interest to go corporate :)

Thanks all

John

To be honest, the market is tiny, and difficult to make work on a large scale.

I build carbon fibre components, the problem is, that as mine are hand made, and in smaller quantities it's extremely difficult to compete with companies that specialise in this kind of thing.

Stuff like huggers, chain guards and mudguards etc I can beat on price. But when I priced up doing track bodywork for a friend, it was cheaper for him to buy it from a large company.

I only really custom parts now, as it's the only market left.

Fair do's, fibre glass is always an option too though, especially for things like seat cowls for the likes of the YZF range of bikes...the genuine articles are nothing short of a blatant rip off....£95ish for the yzf-r125 version?! Doesn't seem right to me!

Ok well it's good to know there's a market and interest anyway! I've got my website being built and will be setting up a paypal/ebay business account so everyone knows it's all above board. Will update soon once the site's up :)
