R6 00 model, very poor running

my 2000 R6 wont reach above 8000rpm in 1st, also when it gets to 4500rpm in 2nd it gets really sluggish! then it does it randomly in the rest of the gears! any ideas please?? all ideas would be greatly appreciated thanks guys, it is running really poor :angry:

im gonna take a wild guess here and suggest it might be an electrical fault CDI unit maybe or whatever its called lol....if u know a mate with same bike and year maybe try swapping the boxes over to see if that makwes any diff...

other than that its a case of checking the plugs, carbs etc for dirt ...maybe check the coils too!...dunno otherwise but im sure a more wiser guy in here will have a better solution lol

buy new plugs, check voltage to the coils, could need a carb rebuild or cleaning but that bike might be fuel injected so maybe not, check for leaks in the intake manifolds, airbox boots, either one would cause it to suck in excess air reducing performance... does the problem apply to neutral as well? check the wheel bearings by making sure it rolls freely, dragging brakes, valve adjustment might be needed, weak spark caused by an old battery, etc etc

cheers dude! ive got new plugs! ive had the carb stripped and rebuilt! no problems there! i dont think it is the valves otherwise it would do it constantly! just waiting for my new coils! just hope that is it! cheers for the advice though!
