  1. Started my bike (R1 5PW) for the first time in a couple of weeks on Sunday and it was idling at 4000rpm, I went out out for a small ride to see if it was just cos I hadnt ridden it for a while but it was made no difference. When I got home I lowered the idle with the adjuster but could only lower it to idle at 1500rpm no lower... Should I be worried about this? Anyone have any ideas why this may have happened? Your help is greatly appreciated Paul
  2. Hi guys after a bit of advice, My clutch appears to have stopped working, the cable hasnt snapped, but if i start the bike and select 1st or 2nd it just jumps forward and stalls. I did drop it before this started rode about 2 miles to work with no issue and then when i came to go home this happened. If the bike is off and im in nuetral i can push it freely but if a select a gear and pull the clutch and try to push it locks the wheel. Any ideas? Thanks Paul

Hi, I came to start my 2000 R6 this morning after not using it for a couple of weeks, i hit the starter button the bike fired up then cut out straight away i did it again and the same happened, then when i pressed the starter again a relay under the seat started clicking really fast almost buzzing, i think its the starter cut out relay that is buzzing. It sounds to me like the relay is busted Any one had this or got any ideas what it could be? Thanks Paul
  4. Hi guys, my 2nd gear and 6th gears are knackered, and ive read on some american sites that the more reliable smoother gearbox from a 2003 model will fit my 2000 model, Could someone confirm that this is true as ive seen one on ebay and am really missing 2nd gear!! Thanks
  5. Hi ppl, My R6 has started to jump in 2nd gear when i go for it, it only happens in 2nd all the others are sound! I'm guessing i'll need and new gearbox or rebuild am i right or anyone else got any ideas? Checked the chain tension and sprockets which are all new they are ok. Thanks guys Paul
  6. When the carbs were rebuilt do you know if the diaphragms were checked/replaced?
  7. If anyone is interested, i finally found the problem today, after stripping and cleaing the carbs and everything else, i found one of the diaphrams on the back of the 4th carb split!! Replaced it now its back to normal and i'm happy as larry! Thanks for the help guys!
  8. Ha ha nah unless Bp have started to add it! I've got the carbs out tonight, and checked the first lot of jets and they seem pretty clogged up, so i'm gonna take em into work tomorrow and get the comp air on to blow em all through! Was wondering if it is worth gettin one of these dynojet kits rather than cleaning the standard ones?
  9. Ha ha yeah, it does do it normally, but i noticed since this started happening its doing it differently! I'll check them rubbers out in the light then tomorrow Thanks again for the help
  10. Are the carb rubbers the rubber on the bottom half of the airbox that go over the top off the carbs?? If it is I've just taken it off and 2 of the 4 were not seated properly

Cheers for replying, The can hasnt got a baffle, pretty sure there are no holes in the exhaust system, choke isnt stuck on, ive got some new plugs will be checking them tomorrow along with changing the filter, then i think i'm gettin out of my capabilities so i'll take it to a garage! Thanks for the help will let you know what it is when i find it! Paul
  12. Just thought of one other thing its doing, on engine braking it is popping and farting a lot more than usual...
  13. Its got a standard air filter which i have ordered a replacement for and the can is a tube tech gp style can. Yoda, No other symptoms and seems to run as smooth as it ever has, untill i go for it thats when it buggers up!! Ta

Hi, my 2000 R6 seems to be struggling when i accelerate hard its a little juddery and really underpower then as soon as the revs build up it smooths out and rides like it should, can still lift the front wheel as soon as the revs are high enough but at the lower end something aint right. It feels like its not getting fuel but this cant be the case as it is sweet when the revs are nice and high. Anyone have any ideas what i can check or what they think it might be?? Thanks guys Paul

    Crash bungs

    Hi ppl, I wanna fit my crash bungs today on 2000 r6, any one got any ideas how long it should take?? Only asking because i'll be gettin ear ache if it takes too long as its valentines day supose i better spend some time with her
