  1. Questions: 1. During all my failed starting attempts have I nackered the battery (two of in parallel after its restore). You hooked up dual batteries? 2. is the idling issue due to the starting problems Poor idle can be caused by a low battery charge, clogged pilot jet, clogged main jet, dirty carb, weak coil, dirty plug, low octane fuel.. But I think you should buy a new spark plug and maybe a new rectifier/good rectifier to help with the charging problem you appear to be having 3. I can start it on the kick relatively easily, will this recharge the batterie(s) Well no. But it will save the battery the large charge loss caused by the electric starter. You should test the voltage at your battery terminal, should be like 14 amps at 4,000 RPMs.
  2. try some thread locker, or lock washers.
  3. yeah, so you bought a performance exhaust for a 50cc scooter? anyway.. you'll have to put more fuel into the engine if the exhaust is supposed to make the scooter go FASTER. Unless it has black smoke coming out the exhaust when its running, which indicates its too rich to begin with, which is highly unlikely. So I'd suggest taking that carb off and buying idle and main jets, 5 and 10 sizes bigger and expirementing. also increase the fuel mixture, more fuel. Also it could just be a spark plug, when they are going out they kill the engine under load, i'd suggest a new plug first.
  4. did you repack them??? did it work out ??? I am considering a repack job on mine. gman
  5. that is the fastest front loader ive ever seen
  6. well if its working then i would think so, but it might be on its way out.
  7. yeah probably, id just buy the next years cable? 1982 or 1980 whichever bike is closest looking
  8. cool bike, i used to have one. why not take that paint off the engine and polish the aluminum underneath?
  9. nah, usually you just swap out the fiber friction plates. but you should clean the steel ones.
  10. You would have to take the low beam wire and put a 4 way connector on it. To that 4 way connector you would plug in the positive from the left headlight and the right headlight, then on the 4th connection you would plug in the high beam wire.
  11. headlight fuse might be blown.. wire might have come loose in the switch?
  12. what about a compression test? valves arnt opening or closing properly? have you seen the cylinder 4 spark plug spark? have you ran the bike then taken the number 4 spark plug out and checked that there's petrol on it?
  13. maybe it needs a little help? try some starting fluid. might have too much 2 stroke oil in the gas. engines love ether. Also the screw should be turned back 1 and a half turns or so.
  14. go mix some seafoam into the gas. local auto store. but youll never get it running well without taking those carbs apart.
