  1. Anyone know if one of a 2008 or 2009 model will fit a 2005 model?
  2. Afternoon, Can anyone give me some pointers on this. I need to change the rear light on my YBR 125, bought a new light off ebay but the connections are different not quite sure what to do. Not that great on this kind of stuff. Hopefully these pictures should help show what I am talking about. This one is the back of the old light : This one is the wires that are coming out of the back of the new one with a connector block : Finally this is the 3 wires on the bike that the light connects to, fine for the old one but i cant see how to connect the new one to it. Do I need to cut something? or need some new/different type of connection? Thanks in advance
  3. When are you looking to buy one for her? I am putting my Yamaha YBR 125 up for sale as I am getting a vespa for the summer Something I have wanted to do for a while and thought I would do it this year. If you want pictures I can do some Pictures. Its a 2005 under 10k on the clock. Tyres are ok there is a sakura? on the front these are the stock tyres they put on these, rear is a michelin city pilot, sprockets fine, just put a new chain on week before last. Fork seals will need doing for MOT which is due in July. Just taxed it for another year. Has been used all year round for the last year and a half I have owned it so does have some light rust and marks as you would expect. One small scratch on the tank (something fell against it in my mates van not long after I bought it) could probably be touched up if it bothers you. Rear light needs slight attention, since the bulb blew I put a new one in and whilst the brake light works fine the main tail light is temperamental. I think its probably a connection in the tail light as if you hold the bulb in or push it slightly at an angle the tail light and the brake light operate normally. Never been dropped. 2 keys, owners manual, some other paperwork, letter from yamaha when it was bought. Around £8 or £9 quid fills it up and you can get close to 200 miles off that depending on how you ride it. Its 4 stroke to so you don't have to top up the oil that often. Nice bike I have probably made it sound worse than it is. I just fancy a change for the summer and will probably get another when the weather turns sour if I don't give in and buy a car. I would keep it but I can't afford to have 2 vehicles at the moment. I think I paid £1200 for it in October 2007. I'm not far from you either. Northampton. Price is £800.

    cbt is inadequate

And to the original poster, if you didn't think you were safe enough or still had reservations why did you not go back and have some extra lessons or something.

    cbt is inadequate

To the guy saying he started his at 10 and was done by 12.30 then the fault is with the training school. A 2 hour road ride is compulsory, so was everything else done in half an hour? The checking of the bikes, on and off the stand, controls, round cones, emergency stop.
  6. YBR 125. I had one for a couple of years now, cheap to buy, pick up probably an 05 plate for 800 quid. Most of them have fairly low mileage on them as most people just use them to practice on for their test. 4 stroke, reliable, does about 60mph, size wise is probably about right. Doesn't ever really need anything doing, mines done about 9000 miles. apart from a new chain and sprockets, a new back tyre and fork seals it hasn't needed anything else. It does need another chain now but only as the last one that was put on by the garage was cheap and poor quality. About £9 to fill it up and that returns around 180 miles, and thats with 15 stone on it driving it flat out wherever possible.
  7. You cant do it legally, doesnt mean you cant do it. Not that I would encourage it. Northern Ireland your ok though.
  8. Just so you know you definately can't ride your bike in the republic of ireland legally on a cbt.
  9. I know this is a bit of an old thread now so you might not see this but.. I take it your on a CBT with L plates? Whats the situation with your licence if your going to ROI I know it would be ok in Northern Ireland but what about the Republic. Also your insurance? Not putting a downer on things but I was thinking about doing somethingg similar on my YBR 125 but these were concerns that I have. Also for the amount of gear you take with you. There is no way you will need 150 litres of stuff. I did a trip over a couple of weeks in England camping on my bike and didnt have no where near that amount of stuff. You really dont need that much. I didnt have any panniers or a top box, i took a one man tent Gelert Solo they are £20 quid and weigh 1.5kg, a light weight sleeping bag, a meths stove and fuel bottle , and a bottle of water, and a small toolkit. I put most of this in drybags, the type kayakers use on river kayaking they are cheap. then I put it on the seat behind me and the rack and used a cargo net and some bungee cords and strapped it down. I carried a 30litre backpack on my back with a few changes of clothes in, dont need loads as you can always wash them along the way, if your doing it in the summer you wont need loads of warm clothes anyway. Oh and a tank bag with a map in it and the small tool kit. Let me know what you know about the licence and insurance issues and good luck.
  10. Is it not something to do with immobiliser?
