  1. Like it matey, Looks wicked with the R6 tail. Some very nice metal polishing there 2..... Other post regarding the front....those plastic thingies are a bit poop, Ive one on my Kwak600, it serves a purpose for its MOT, but as far as usefullness goes.....lol, I had to follow another bike home because it had gone dark and the lights are poor....Got my eyes on a tripple chromed jobby now £££££ lol. Good look with it. P
  2. Goto Photobucket <Click that open up an account....upload as many pics as you like....then.....come back here...above your text screen (where you are replying to a post) are some little icons, roll your mouse over and see what they say, 2nd one that is a pic of hills and sun, click here, this brings up a window, put the url of you pic in there (the url you will find in your photobucket account underneath your pics, each pic has its own url. Its advisable to have 2 web pages open so you can copy the url straight into the window when it asks you. Give it a go...you know you want 2....
  3. 2 years ago, I hadnt passed my big test and I wanted to go on hols. I was on 125s...no bother...After a joke at a bike shop I use, I decided to go to John O`Groats. The day I was setting off, my bike got run over... Insurance man gave me a YBR125, lovely red thing, had less than a 1000 miles on the clock and obviosly been dropped a dozen times....I serviced it before I set off. Pic of us somewhere near Carlisle. Pic of some of the roads (Ahem....) we went on Beach at Durness JOG 10 days around Scotland, 2000 miles, best holiday Id ever had. Yam 125..never let me down, I even put a phone charger on it. So 125 riders...just because its a little bike...dosnt mean you have to do little rides.....
  4. Whoaa, There are bodies all over the place, look like victims of the mad custard pie thrower to me!... Very good,,,I had to cover there faces, just couldnt be assed to change the colour of the brush. Numpty.......Fancy undertaking me at 50-60mph on the hard shoulder in slow traffic..doh!! As oldgionabike will testify, I er had a rant about not being seen...I actually asked one guy "If Id done something like sleeping with his Wife" He asked "why?" I said "Well why where you trying to kill me?" He just put his window up, so I waved at him with two ickle fingers and rode off. Ive a big yellow bike with yellow panniers...how???? As my mouse mat says.....because you didnt bloody look!! Heres another good one...from last year, I was on my way down south (as was normal for me 3-4 times a week), at a service station. Because I spent an inordinate amount of time on my bike (Silver Yam), I wore a florecent yellow jacket, you know the type,so I could be seen. Well Im standing in the queue waiting to pay, when a bloke walks past and pushes directly infront of me and the guy infront..I says " Excuse me mate, thier is a queue here, we have been waiting for 5 mins" "Oh, Im sorry, I didnt see you" " You didnt see me? Im standing here in a big florecent jacket, a shiney white helmet, Im 16 stone (Not anymore!!!) and you cant see me? If thats the caase, what chances do I have out there on the motorway with you on it? Go and get your eyes checked and look twice before you change lanes, because I may be there, shining like a big yellow sun. " Well the guy backed right off and walked sheepishy to the back of the now silent queue. After travelling for 1000s miles each week, Id had enough of the "Didnt see you brigade" The last guy who tried to take me out by undertaking me on the M60/M66/M62 roundabout lost his mirrors....I took one side and my mate took the other, we threw them into the grass at the side of the motorway......pauvre con Phew...feel much, much better now
  5. Hiya mate. The Divvy is a fantastic tourer, yes the taller screen does make a difference (kinda depends on how tall you are. Im 5`9), although at higher speeds (er 100 -140mph) its does move a bit thus reacting with your visor unless you tuck down. I did 70,000 miles on mine last year, in 7 months, very comfortable, reliable and capable machine. 2 up very stable with boxes, plenty of smooth power, through the revs. As with all divvys tho...be nice to have a 6th!!! Capable tourer, but will play when you want it too, suspension a little wallowy when you push it hard round country bends. I put Avon Storm STs on, front and back, got great grip and good wear. But a duel compound would be good to, I tried a Michelin duel compound, very good grip and wear. Things too watch...down pipes and collector box rotting, the latter going first. Be carefull washing it too, on the left side of the carbs is the throttle position sensor, its in direct line to get wet....about 100 quid to replace...A mate of mine got carried away last year with a hose pipe, having a lark around, soaked the bike by accident and knackered mine up...expensive lark around for him.... let us know how you get on. P
  6. Holy poop ... ... The original tank decided to leak not salvageable. ..but Ive a great project to do with the new tank before I spray it back to its original colour. ....Cant say what just yet cos its kinda secret , have to wait and see. The problem is that I ride it everyday so it cant be off the road for long. The pic of it indoors dosnt do it any favours..its very very bright...ask Goff..we rode together for a day....oh and yes I have matching yellow panniers...
  7. Very true. theres a guy on here called rightchoiceinsurance may be worth a look, he is just starting up and may get you a decent quote. Last year my insurance for my 03 XJ900 was 3500, because I was insured for courier work (ie:15,000 miles + a year) in fact it was around 60,000 miles in 6 months. lol. just be wary who you deal with, and check to make sure theres nothing to pay when cancelling. been stung before....
  8. Mint that....Ill see if a few of us can have a go.... . I can get my peg down...but not to see how long or if I can write my name with it

  11. Well peeps, what a great day out. Up to Birch services for 7.30am. Already there where about 3-400 bikes. Press, News, Tv etc....and of course the Police. Met up with Goff At 8.00, around 2-3000 bikes had gathered..exact figure...duno. 8.10am...set off down the motorway at around 10-20 mph, using all 3 lanes and a few using the hard shoulder. Yeah we had a police escort... Anyhoo..we got to Man Utd Fc ground and parked up on the main road, blocking all surrounding roads..we hadnt got 2 our destination at Salford Quays yet. After about 15 mins..we got moving again and set off for The Quays. Those that where there....cool ..those that werent..shame you couldnt make it, you missed an awsome day. After the protest.. Myself and Goff headed for Matlock Bath. New great shop there on North Parade (up an Arcade)....called Twisted Spanner. A great day out...and Goff thinks Im a nutter.. ..Maybe she will explain.
  12. Sometimes it sets the scanners off. I used to do a lot of courier work for the police force and courts...moving evidence like hard drives to specialist forensic peeps and to various courts around the country, so security was a big issue, yes..it was a case of guess where it is..
  13. In good fettle, Lreg 750 Genesis, money not bad either...£450 with Mot. My ickle street. Yes more bikes at the top. 7 houses, 5 bikes on the street.....If you dont like bikes, dont live here!! As for my kitchen, :lol, no room in there, front room is the parking spot

  15. Whose been buggering his coils? Sounds painfull whateva Yeah MEN!!! My 600s a bloke My 1260 is a girlie, "H" Which is short for "Harley" which in turn is short for "Harliquine"
  16. Im duckin over here....you throwing stuff? Oh hun...they arnt out to get you..the copper that cut me up (undertook me) may do though. Sounds like a run of bad luck... the fabricator who did your ring may have understood better if you had described it as a large penis ring for your tank..sounds like he was the penis.... Your V&H dealer...DOH! DOH! DOH! So what you riding thursday....? Elvira? or something else?
  17. Ive tried the Metzlers, had Yamaha pit crew put a set on for me at Oulton Park BSB, they loved having a Kawasaki in their garage lol. Your right about the twitchyness in the wet.....good fun.... Doing the kind of miles I do (7500 since Feb), I have to use tyres that will last, so dual compound rear and a good sport tourer at the front. Im using BT021(rear) BT020 (front). Loads of grip, and goes round corners with no issues...(remembering that my motor isnt a standard 1100 its bored out and gas flowed) Id love to do a track day...but as said in previous post..my titanium wouldnt like it... Thanks for all advice peeps. I guess I`ll try not to over lean, use my judgement by feeling the angle with my pegs and feet.
  18. Ive an RAC model I got last year, uses earphones or I should say earphone. I have it wired into the bike so it keeps the charge up and it sits inside my map bag so I can see it 2. Having it in the pocket is ok....but can be frustrating because it loses its signal, and you press buttons accidentaly.... There are many out there. Goffs got a good 1 for sale...did? check her out... Good luck. Edit..Model is RAC SatNav 200.
  19. I followed this guy for 5 miles....his riding scared me (that takes a lot)..he wants to get past the camper he really really wants to get past... too much 55 degrees huh....? Have to get a meter to make sure.
  20. Im not sure whereabouts yours is situated....this maybe the labour..as with some machines you have to displace the carbs to gain access or be good with a angled screwdriver. Mine is on the end of the carbs on the left side and is keyed to the throttle shaft. Easy to get to. Make sure you disconnect the wiring first. Its easy enough to set up once youve replaced it. Id cetainly check a Haynes manual first before you have a go, I can see the yamaha peeps saying "Oh well you tried, now its broke, you want us to fix it? " P
  21. Hiya, TPS problem on my 2003 XJ900 Divvy, went the same way at 46000 miles (Had covered 35000 miles in 4 months). I ordered one for a hundred quid, fitted it myself using the on bike settup procedure. Divvy has a pre start test and servicing mode. The daft women at the Yamaha shop said Id have to leave the bike with them to have it fitted....ok..its fastened on with "anti ordinary person screws", but a kit to fit almost any type of weird screw head cost around £8. She said It would have to be connected to there computer...wrong... connected to the onboard computer on the bike. I talked her through the entire refitting procedure. She wasnt happy and nearly refused to sell me the silly plastic item. Its sad that such a good make of machine has so many issues when it comes down to customer service...but isnt that happening everywhere now?
