  1. Fell off my FS1E at 16 in 1975 and thought I would have learned a lesson. Got my RD250 after it and went over the handlebars in a burn up a couple of weeks later. Impact at 60mph was on top of my head. A hole the size of my fist was ripped off the top of my helmet right down to the last layer of cloth. Rolled down the road and lost skin of knees and elbows. Could not afford to buy a new helmet  So I repaired the old one with car body filler  and resprayed it. Sheer loonacy I used it for 2 more years with the filler cracks showing thru. Learned to be careful after that. I take every other rider and vehicle as a blind fool now.
  2. Old Saddam no longer under lock and key in England, good job

    hit this

27 seconds and fell off once, slow down at obstacles
  4. Flares, how about this for fashion. Keep your women folk under control boys
  5. One lap does not make a race :yes
  6. Very difficult question to answer. One the changes with time. All the machinery I always wanted revert back to the 70's and early 80's. Always wanted a Suzuki T500 in Maui Blue (ugle bike which had a charm of its own and a unique sound Always wanted a Suzuki GT750B "boiler" (us here in Wilts never called them kettles or Buffalos  ) I did pick up a 74 restoration project a couple of years ago but someone made me an offer I could not refuse  Would also have liked a RD500LC but by the time of its launch I was married and with a family. So I was looking at bikes in passing. I see many a bikes I would like to own today. but not any I would own long term
  7. I thought the little red bits earlier lit the topics up nicely. :jump But the life blood of forums is new members, old one's move on and need to be replaced. There is always a hardcore of members and a few who visit (me as well) on a non regular basis. Don't bite that lip LC let me have it. When I finish editing the "aircooled" mag I will need feedback on it :duel The smillies have got very small
  8. Anyone reading the earlier postings will be totally confused now. Now looks bright and welcoming in the light blue, not too sure about the blue smillies, they look very cold. A couple of unobtrusive tunning forks and a classic bit of speedblocks would not go amiss. A dash of red and pink would be ok as well and a pot of flowers here and there  Wots wrong with pink. I sprayed one of my old helmets pink in the 70's after I ripped the top of it off in a crash and repaired it with plastic padding  I am not kidding, I will write the story for the CMM mag one day.
  9. This looks better than the last. Me not scared of change, just giving my opinion on the look. Remember a site always needs to be user friendly. A confusing and complicated will deter the newcomers too this sort of thing.
  10. Just like to add my opinion welcome or not. Not trying to insult anyone this is just my personnal oppinion but I think the general look of the forum has taken a step backwards. It looks dark and unfriendly and the layout although much the same looks cheap and tacky :bawl I presume there may have been a deep routed reason for the change
  11. Thought that might stir :duel it up a bit. We had a chap who was taking redundancy the other week and he did the whole last 12 hour night :loser They gave him his final pay check the night before and he then stayed on all night. I would have gone home for a bit of :drunk and then :loved with the missus
  12. A lot of advice to work them nights. Obviously the writers don't know wot night shifts are like, :sleep work the first one then go sick :tsk

  17. Yes this chap was wizzing along a couple of feet behind the lorry at 60mph. He was on a smallish trail bike hence the tailgate drag. Driver of the truck must have been pissed off

  23. My wife saw one on the road today in Chippenham. Taylor Racing our local dealer had one out on trade plates today. One chap here had been advertising that the one he has on order will be on ebay. I will see if they take it to Avebury Biker night tomorrow
  24. I remember in the 70's when Suzuki introduced the GS850G shaft drive. They added an extra 100cc to counteract the shaft system power loss as compared to chain drive. The GS1000 version became the GS1100G
