  1. Yeah, too far away for me, I'm West Yorkshire lol. Ok, a 2' bar isn't as long as you imagine (I use a 3' breaker bar on mine). I assume you're trying to turn it by hand, your legs are stronger. I would try one of these: Do the same as you were with someone on the bike and the brakes. 1/ Soak the nut in penetrating oil. Put the bar on so it's horizontal and put your foot on it. Making sure it's not gonna come off the nut, start taking up the flex in the bar. Once there, bounce slightly. If you're using a proper breaker bar, I'd expect to see a very stiff nut flex a 2' bar a couple of inches. One of these bounces should crack off the nut. 2/ Soak the nut in penetrating oil. Put the bar on so it's horizontal and put your foot on it. Making sure it's not gonna come off the nut, start taking up the flex in the bar. Once there, get a third person to strike the back of the socket with a hammer (firm flat blows (doesn't have to be really hard or anything)). This will basically act like an impact gun.
  2. Where in the UK are you? Might be someone close with an impact gun...
  3. There should be enough of the thread sticking out for you to see whether it's a left or right hand thread. A picture of the offending item would help here...
  4. Aaah, you found a cheaper one than I did NEO, but yes, both options are out there, apparently only as a 3rd party item...
  5. The first question appears to be, for the rider or passenger? The second is: What year, what version? 2000? 2001? 2002? 2004? 070A, 070B, 120A, 120B?
  6. Closest I've got is an XSR 125. I'm selling it tomorrow... lol
  7. This is all I've found: Yamaha RS125 (479) 1974-1975 USED OEM Parts List Manual Book 479-28198-05 | eBay Yambits : for Yamaha bikes
  8. I'm looking for a set for my Thunderace, but not come up with any I like yet. But I don't doubt others on the forum will know...
  9. Moved... The thing with classics is that the parts are no longer made. So I doubt you'll ever find a 'one stop shop' for them. You find them where you can I'm afraid...
  10. The reason I asked was because you can usually use the Fowlers Parts website to find out colour scheme names and such. However, for some reason it hasn't worked on the XS500, simply because it only lists it for a single year. Don't know why... Purchase Yamaha XS500 1976 Europe XS500 (1H2, 1976) 999 None motorcycle parts online (fowlersparts.co.uk)
  11. It's more fun to ride a small bike fast than it is to ride a big bike slow! That said, get a Thunderace!!! Muahahahahahahahaha... I think he meant 'coming back to Yamaha'...
  12. Yeah, that was pretty much the only one I found on a quick search...
  13. 78 Yamaha XS500 C OEM Chain Guard 1A8-22310-00-00 MY124 | eBay E-Bay and Google are your friends... P.S. You wrote: 1A8-22310-00-00 It should have been: 1A8-22310-00
  14. No, no... I have a slightly dodgy crotch seam on my waterproofs, no pond forms, it just soaks straight in! I dunno how old you are Ray, but occasionally (as you get older), you just wanna walk out the door and sit in the car. Some days, levering on all that gear is just a pain in the ass for the short commute! lol.
  15. Welcome in! And I'm pleased to see you've subbed to be a full member too! Well worth the few units of whatever currency you use... lol. We're not terribly busy here, but there's always someone around to have a poke at answering questions.
  16. This is easier for my Thunderace, all years are the same! lol
  17. I can't help you with the diagnostics, but, if you've bought it to 'restore' it. Then you might as well change the exhaust for the right one, you're going to have to do it at some point... ALWAYS provide photos/videos!
  18. Hi guys, I need recommendations for crash bobbins for a Gen1 Hayabusa. Something preferably both pretty and most of all useful! Ideally from personal experience, we all know how some of these 3rd party items look good, but work crap..! lol Cheers in advance & all that...
  19. The first issue is safety, get that chain tightened! If you have an issue with a CDI, you're probably already into 'take it to the shop' territory...
  20. So this is a 1999 R1? There's a big ass fuse on either side of the starter assay. Try those first.
