Well suppose that is not a huge amount added on to the initial price if you are willing to make all that effort. Does sound like a lot of work, but good luck to you! Haha after seeing initial post I actually looked for a Honda Prelude with the pop up lights - not dissimilar to the picture you posted. I remember thinking they looked cool...

Curious, Does it not cost a ton to ship these? Also are these from reliable sources, I would be a bit worried parting with money for something coming from half way around the world. But yea very nice looking cars.
  3. Wow I have never even seen a six cylinder bike. Loving those pipes.

For the first 10 minutes in rush hour traffic I was thinking 'I miss my YBR' but after that I am loving it and to be fair for the size it is fairly agile. I am still struggling with tight turns from standstill a bit.. but really I should just avoid being in positions where I have to do this. - No more lifting up the front end and moving it like I had done in the past with the YBR
  5. Well, glad it is sorted. But yea I would keep an eye out when it rains! Hopefully it was just a very unlucky occurrence.
  6. When you turn it on does it flash at all? or just come on and remain on? What does it do when you attempt to start it? What did you wash it with, just a bucket and sponge or a jet washer? - I agree it almost certainly should not sustain any damage from a normal wash and should be covered under warranty.
  7. Yea, I feel that it is the 'placebo effect' lots of people seem to think this has a big impact; 'smoothing the throttle' I also tried it out of curiosity and noticed no difference. Maybe smelt a bit different? But could have been my imagination. So after some time to dwell on this here are my thoughts on my original suggestions. Fit an after market fuel injection tuner - Most expensive, reversible, unsure how effective it would actually be at making the throttle smoother.Fit a different sized/shaped cam on the throttle to extend the first 1/4 of opening - A cheaper, reversible and effective way to soften the throttle responseCheck for/remove slack on throttle cable - Not really a solution unless this is the issue..Adjust the 'CO settings' to make the fuel mixture richer - From a short test seems to have no real impactGet the ECU reflashed by the dealer - Not tested, free within warranty but difficult/impossible to reverse. And the number one solution -
  8. Maybe I am just cynical, but I assumed the bikes they give to reviewers to test on launch dates may be tuned slightly differently than normal production ones, maybe with less concern for emissions... *Now where did I leave my tin foil hat*
  9. after reading the first two paragraphs I had to scroll up to check the web address to see if this was meant to be a joke... Not sure where the boundary between real news and satire is anymore. '£8000 debt on 0% interest credit cards + 1 year to pay it off? - 190k Salary?' GTFOOH
  10. Yea I think that was why I was kind of shocked, people just forked out for the bike and then decide the throttle is too much and immediately pay £500 + to put it on a dyno and get a PC fitted. I have been using the clutch more to take the bite out in some corners. - seems like a commons sense solution..

If they are the same length, diameter, and the wheel bearing and brake assembly fits I can't see why not. What is the purpose of changing the forks for a different model?
  12. I quite like the responsiveness, I assumed it was normal. Just others seem to think it was not - turning corners on 'A' and being a bit choppy on the throttle has led to a couple of brown moments as the front wheel decides it no longer wants to be on the road. Also had some complaints from a passenger who is used to driving a car, which made me look into it - 'Yes it is not as smooth if you are hanging on to me for dear life' I don't think I would bother with a PC. But I was considering changing the CO settings, as I can easily revert them back with no effort or cost. Other than that I don't think I would bother to do anything. At least not until next year after spending more time with it so I know what my own ideal setup would be. Was just curious if anyone else had bothered with any of the suggestions listed A shame really if manufacturers are losing performance/drivability just to pass emissions tests. Not sure how I feel about electronic throttle, though I would like to try it out.
  13. Just wondering what peoples opinions are on this really - Some people consider the throttle to be over response if in 1st/2nd gear at around 18-30mph - I remember this was mentioned in a few reviews when the MT-09 was released. Suggestions I have seen to address this; Fit an after market fuel injection tuner thing - (probably a better description for this)Fit a different sized/shaped cam on the throttle to extend the first 1/4 of openingCheck for/remove slack on throttle cableAdjust the 'CO settings' to make the fuel mixture richerGet the ECU reflashed by the dealerI am fairly happy with the throttle response, I only began looking into when someone else mentioned it. With the cold weather yesterday and big gloves it was a bit 'snatchy.' But as my instructor always said, 'its user error not the bike!' (and he has been 100% right so far with all the issues I had!) Riding in the rain this morning in 'B' mode it was smooth as anything. Are there any MT-09 (2014) owners out there that have done any of these things? Apologies if this has come up before I did a quick search but did not see anything.
  14. Congrats on passing mod 1 and good luck for mod 2.

Finally picked it up yesterday, just in time for the weekend (and snow..) loving it so far. One complaint is - the owners manual is of lower quality paper than the YBR - .. Also it says it is my responsibility to park it somewhere where 'pedestrians and children cant' touch the hot parts' - I don't feel it is.. Some people have to learn the hard way. Already have my shopping list of bits and pieces I want to add to it so I am sure you guys can look forward to some 'oops I have broken my bike' and 'why does this not fit back where it was supposed etc.' posts in time.
  17. Glad it was recovered. I was worried about this happening as the bike is so light. At first I was really cautious with disc lock, huge chain. (neither of which are convenient to carry around!) Then after a year I kind of stopped caring and have not used either, I figured these were not popular to steal. Maybe they just don't like the look of mine... Sounds like a good idea, but looking at the size of it probably wont be difficult to find!

Apparently it is the headlight harness for all these models that has been recalled due to the fact it is too short and can disconnect at full lock! *facepalm* - I did not test ride this specific bike. But as it is a general issue with all models, not too bothered now.
  19. "I have contacted the moving service, meanwhile you should put request through my PayPal account [email protected] , so l can send money and choose a good time for the collection after payment has been received." So will be overpayment scam, I send the request - they send fake notification of payment that is too much and then ask for a refund. Not sure who would fall for this. But good example here
  20. So currently trying to sell my bike, first interest I have is certainly a scam. From the second email this was clear, but I thought I would play along and see what happens. Here is the convo; (Scammer asked if it was still for sale first, the message seemed like a scam then so was rather abrupt) Yes, the Yamaha is still for sale. Hi, I'll like to know it present condition. I can't come to view it because I’m recovering from surgery. Why do you need to sell it ? Any accident history? Sorry my phone is not active as I just came back from the hospital after several weeks. (O really? - How exactly will you be driving this bike then, and who doesn't have a phone) It is in good condition, no accidents. I am selling as I no longer need it. Sounds good, so what’s your best price as well? The price that it is advertised at. I would be willing to negotiate on the price in person upon viewing. Alright, where are you located? I will need to contact the mover service to know the cost and expenses to collect from your location. Hi Tara, Bike is currently located at; West End Central Police Station 27 Savile Row, London W1S 2EX Will you be coming to inspect it before collection? Where are you located? (It's not, but pretty close, curious if this will scare them off) I imagine next if they are not deterred they will ask for bank details or try and make some 'money transfer.' But amused me for a few minutes today anyway!

Just over a week now since I bought it and still not ready.. Went to the workshop on Friday for a check and apparently needed a new part. Curious what this could be on a bike with 1k on the clock.
