well its been nearly two weeks of YZF 750 bliss...Bummer back to work in the morning....She now has an extra 2000 miles on the clock and has been ridden to the point where my back can't take any more But on the plus side I have relived my youth to the point that my hair is growing back and my gray hair is going back to black ... We have even chased down a plonker on an 2009 blade (still a pile of poo ) who thought is bike would see off my old girl.. (young people and out right power huh need to learn the corners).. We had a couple of night at Sherbum where the YZF gained a few admires.. Need to win the lottory now....Back sugary first, Kids boarding school, Me out on bike for the next 2 years

Hi guys and Girls I have not been on in a while as like most people I have to work... But yesterday I found an old but mint YZF750 11k on the clock and abundance of service history....Bought it and wow....... I spent 6 years on one of these bad girls in the 90s and wish I had never part ex it for an R1. After the first few corners memories came back of what a great bike it is...Shame it was over shadowed by the boring blade. Some new Bridgestones and straight though an MOT 265 glorious miles done today and really starting to get to grips with this fantastic machine again..... Hi mate... I have had a mate with the same problem although on Kawasaki...It was the charging system.....It was over charging which was causing the cdi to cut out....

I have read this tread with interest..I tell you why...... My first big sports bike all the way back in 1994 was a FireBlade......Thought I would love I believed the hype, then it hit me, I didn't like it...I could nod off on the boring thing...My old FZR600 was more fun..... After the Blade meet its demises I went back to Yamaha in the form of a YZF750.......loved it......loved it.......loved it..... I made a major mistake in 1998 when I part ex it for an R1.... The R1 is fun, I still have it today, but for all its power it wasn't my YZF 750. If I could turn back the clock to the day I went to pic the R1 up, I would just keep riding straight past the dealership on my YZF 750... The Grass isn't always greener.....

I to have this problem.....I have just been out on the R1 and when I stopped my speedo said zero to .....I then noticed my rev counter going up to 7 when the bike was not moving...... I believe this is all down to replacing the ex-up valve with a 4.7 meg oscillater from the Starship Enterprise.....

Yer good point but.....If your on a sports bike The Police are forever pulling you up if you have a loud can on...But I was at some traffic lights somewhere a few years ago....I cant remember where..... and three Harley's pulled up....Man those V-twins...LOUD..made my Competition Quill sound quite....(naughty been on the road with it I know) ...... But why don't Harley's ever get stopped for loud cans???????

I know I am new round here but this made me laugh..So much so I thought I would put my 2 pennath in..... My 1998 R1 got up 411.6 mph after I disconnected the speedo cable....

Hi mate new here myself but been on bikes now for a while..... Well done on the test...and a good choice of bike....... Just out of interest did you have to do that in and out of cones part as well as a road ride to get a A2??? And.....Take it steady mate when you get out.......Go your own pace and build yer confidence...... Beware Biking's a bug and once yer get it you can't shift it...
