  1. I use in-ear wireless earphones with memory foam buds. No noise whatsoever with the added bonus of some tunes (on low) or answering the phone (all voice activated). There's a bit in my helmet can hold the little bluetooth adaptor.
  2. I've had my Drag 125 for a few months now and I love it. Had a Suzuki intruder before this and the Drag outshines it by far (my old VL was a lemon though). I'm only 5'8", 10.5 stone and it's a perfect size for me. Not even thinking of upgrading at some point. The guys are right, it's not that much kick to it compared to the big boys but it is a "125cc cruiser". Don't think about speed or acceleration on this bike. I've had mine to about 70 though in good conditions, fast enough for me. Comfortable & easy to ride long or short distances. Love mine and am just now beginning to customise it to my tastes (going for an orange/black motif). My advice is get one right away!
  3. Do you still have them & how much are you looking for them? Steph
  4. Sorry guys. Meant washed the bike! Had the bike 3 weeks so not up there with it yet. Had a look at the air filter (a slight bit of rust noticed - replacement ordered). Checked the fuel tank breather tube (ok) Have now noticed a slight squeeling noze from the clutch area before the engine dies. New plates?
  5. Looking for a bit of advice guys. My 125 started acting funny this morning. Revving up very slowly and not accelerating and maxing out at 10mph. It would take a bit of starting and would die completely when I opened up the choke. Was thinking either water in the air filter (washed it yesterday) or dirty carb (had to go to reserve earlier this week). Does that sound about right? (Beginner). If it's the carb. Is it a tricky job to do or is it worth paying to get it done? Was ok up until this all started.
  6. Cheers. Gonna have a look over the weekend. Starting the de-rusting and tidy up so will have some pics to post shortly. Wave a good weekend guys.
  7. Got a 2002 xvs 125 with only 8k on the clock but it sat for ages and the tyres don't look their best. Pleanty of tred but a fair few cracks on the side walls. For safteys sake I'm going to change them. What brand would you guys suggest and where have you found the best prices? Cheers, Steph
  8. Cheers all. Got an alarmed disk lock, Chained to a ground bolt, kept in a bike barn (not seen from the street) and in my drive. Plus I stay in a very quiet part of Glasgow's East End (they do exist believe it or not). I think I've covered the security as much as possible. On that not I noticed that my insurance said that it's void if I don't have an immobiliser!!! And advice of which one to get? Gonna start working on the bike this morning for a few hours and see where that leads me. Will post pics on the progress.
  9. Hi Guys (& Girls), Pretty new to bikes, used to run about on a wee tichy 50cc scooter but moved onto bikes at the beginning of the year. First had a Suzuki VL125 but that went the way of the dodo and was sent rapidly back to the dealer. Picking up my new (old) XVS 125 Dragstar tonight, so second time lucky. Was my first choice when I first started looking at bikes but none were in my meagre price range. I'll be doing a bit of refurb repair on it so might need any help that can be given. I can work the electrics but the mechanical side is a loss to me so I'm gonna have to learn. Looking forward to getting it out and about. All the best, Steph
