  1. Yeah maybe, I did some research, it has a throttle slide, and another that opens on its own due to suction, its kinda cool.
  2. For a simple 125 carburettor, how come its got wires, pumps, and tonnes of leads? I dont get it, I look down the intake of the carb, and I twist the throttle, the air slider valve dont move? Is there more to this carb then a simple couple of jets and a slider? How does the slider valve move? Either my carb is knackered or this thing is complex Ta?
  3. Mine are different at the back, can only just see underneath.
  4. Already ordered, I've been on this bike all day everyday for a week, my hands are poisoned due to grease, oil, rust, bands and constant cleaning.... I need this bike together
  5. F**KING HELL, Expensive or what? Cheers guys, guess I'll just have to bite the bullet.
  6. I know this topic is old, but does anyone know where the part was ordered from? I used a Virago one, and looked exactly same until it came to mounting the carb, it was at a bad angle, I've tried everything but it just needs a Dragstars one. If anyone can tell me this will save a bike. Thanks people I'm at my wits end.
  7. I can only get to the outside of them, the cross is all I see, is that to be pushed in?
  8. Caustic soda can ruin metals, I run Redlines SI-1 Complete fuel system cleaner. I've found some are crap and some are good, SI-1 is one of the good ones, its not just naptha and shit in a tub, its actually high temp detergents that slowly take the soot layers off, for bad engines I normally use two bottles in one tank.
  9. To get to the carb, I have to take off the tank, but the speed dial in on top and in the way, I have to remove rubber screws on it, how the hell do they come off?? Cheerz people, I may have to book this bike in a workshop.
  10. Should be standard, cheers bud, what mods have you given yours? Same as mine?
  11. Hi De-restricted my air filter and drilled my backplate, I need to up my main jet a bit now. Most people are saying go from 76.5 to 90+ sizes, aint this a big leap? I will probably get a few, but need to know the thread size of the jets, as I have no idea what the carb is cant see it Thanks
  12. Controversial question, you'll get a different answer from everyone, I've found that most people use semi-synth, because its a good cost to quality ratio, but even synthetic oils use mineral basestocks, the oil companies have fancy laws in place that let them call mineral oil synthetic when its got a certain ratio of addetives. The only true labratory made oils are PAO's and Esters, they are better in everyway compared to minerals except when it comes to holding lead in suspension, which no one uses anymore. I use motul 300v 10w-40, with a ZDDP as an additive for the rockers/tappets/gears. Its whatever you are willing to spend on your engine, better oils = more MPG, power, protection, but cost more. People who use semi synthetics, tend to change it more often though. Aslong as its a good quality motorcycle oil, not car oil, then its fine. Manufacturers always reccomend an oil, and say never to use any other type, but its rubbish, people have been choosing their own parts/oils for ages in both cars and bikes.

  16. Yeah just owners manual, I'll get the service one, never knew there was one.
  17. Cant believe that.... I searched everywhere, ebay included, and couldn't find it, I managed to find a virago one off bitzforbikez, same as that only 30 quid dearer
  18. Ive got the manual, all it does is tell you to take it to a yamaha dealer all the time, I'll have a look for it if not I'll let you know, cheers fellas.
  19. Thanks a lot, Ive already ordered one from a virago, it looks the same, if not I'll use this, thanks dude.
  20. If your gaskets gone it could be pulling air in, it makes the air to fuel ratio to lean, hence why it needs choke, if it is the head gasket it will need replacing. running it on choke will only ruin the insides, it will be lean then rich at high revs, coking stuff up.

My lass farted during sex the other day, I told her if she did it again I'd be taking a walk in the forbidden cave.
  22. Hi, I like to do my own maintainence, I have a dragstar 125, and its 2004. Its engine runs nice and smooth, but there is a slight ticking, nothing major, also there is like a very slight whiring sound, I'm just putting that down to the engines normal noise, seeiing as though this bike is more technical than my other chinese bike, I dare not open it up unless I really have to. Has anyone ever been into the dragstars OHV? does it need checking often? Cheerz
  23. Bent selector forks maybe? I've been into engines a few times, but I have havnt messed with the gears before.
