  1. Hi slice, sorry if I misused the chat room, I genuinely assumed that this was an appropriate 'non-bike related' topic considering that many bikers went through a claim process. I understand that bikers are not financial professionals however most of those who received a financial claim reward would have a personal experience with setting up a trust account. Either way, thanks for the below links. I will continue my research online, I was just hoping to receive a second opinion from someone with a personal experience.
  2. Hi, I bet that majority of us have some experience with accident claims, unfortunately. Mine is coming to an end, and I was being advised to open a personal injury trust to save my awarded sum into, if I am to protect my right to ever claim state benefits in the near or far future. I've never claimed benefits in my life, but one never knows what the future entails. My question is simple: are there any 'better than others' personal injury trust accounts? I cannot see any difference from one company to another so I wonder if there's anyone out there with more info. Thanks in advance!
  3. Hi Pro, from my experience Yam dealers are usually a bit anal about providing advice over the phone since they cannot charge you for it :/ Stumbled across the below site this morning, think am gonna give them a call.. http://www.nrp-carbs.co.uk/index.htm
  4. Hi, I am after FZX 750 carbs (diaphragms specifically but try to buy these new - £100 each!!! wtf??..). Does anyone know if there are any other bikes/models which would have compatible parts with FZX 750 '86? I don't seem to find the answer online. There aren't exactly many carbs flying around, but for example FZ 750 are plenty. Any ideas anyone please?? Thanks
  5. Hey Paul, just stumbled across your post. Still considering one? I have baby max '86. What do you want to know? I don't have experience of riding large scale of bikes so I cannot compare. All I can say is that FZX750 engine is an absolute beast. The bike is heavy which the year would indicates. Low seat creates comfort, even though the riding possition is rather straight so I have problems 'holding on' when I want to go really fast. The biggest weakness on this bike, so well known about 'maxes' (what was Yahama thinking???), are the forks and swing arm. This bike could do with sturdier ones in both cases, and if you look at mods online, those are the most common changes people go for (www.fzx750.co.uk). Basically the bike can 'wave' a little in turns. Luckily there are lots of suggestions online and plenty of compatible parts to do the job. Also the tank capacity is laughable (13l!!) but you learn keep that in mind, it's not a problem. I love my bike and would not change it for the world. Parts are not as frequently available as newer years, but they are not impossible to get hold of. Let me know if you need anything else. And let me know if you get one
  6. Ssssssssso my beautiful fzx250 is in pieces after a guy 'didn't see me' .... You know the ones.. Dealing with insurance proved to be more painful than my landing! So after I stopped limping I went up to Newkie Land to bring home bigger sister to my deceased Zeal, baby Max fzx750. I've always wanted this bike, ever since I first set my eyes on her in 2001. I am happy to have her but am still heartbroken for my loss. I didn't want to see my Zeal to go this way. What is it with UK drivers. It's p*ssing down with rain three quarters of the year, yet vast majority of the UK population does not know how to drive on wet roads.
  7. In London?? Addison Lee - total F*ckwits, should be banned!!! Scooters - mostly CBT idiots riding in t-shirts and shorts, with no brain capacity to work out what back mirrors are for Cyclists - commuting with death wish (back mirrors..same applies) BMV & Mercedes drivers - as much as I hate categorizing, if someone f*cks me off on the road, 9 out of 10 it will be BMV or Mercedes. Big car = big ego = small ****??
  8. Found you my lovely Yamabee Cannot wait for our first ride out!!! xxx
  9. I agree, but black is closer to my heart. It's hard to do anything without a garage though. Especially this time of the year!
  10. Thanks! Where the hell did you get hold of Jawa?? Yeah well the evolution of Jawa stopped right after the invasion of Czech republic by the Big Red Brother. Good move to stop Jawa production and strengthen their Dnepr export, at least for Russia. I still have a pic of my mom on my uncle's 500cc
  11. Thanks for the warm welcome! There aren't many Zeals in the UK unfortunately, just like any other grey import. I didn't feel confident enough to saddle 600cc after such a long time of non-riding + I fell in love with fzx the first time I've seen her. It's a mission to get parts sometimes but at least she is more reliable than my Jawa was Here she is. I am going to splay her black next year
  12. Hey everyone, It's my first day here so I am hopping to the newbees section to say 'hi' and introduce myself. I live in London and recently bought FZX250 Zeal, after 10 years of non-riding. Prior to that I used to ride across the Czech land my 250Jawa from 1959! Gorgeous half dead bike that used to let me down in the middle of bumblefucks, and so pushing it around became a part of my life. Now I am back on wheels and my grin cannot be wider I am looking forward to chatting to you all. Twist the wrist!!!
