  1. Anyone heard of Reiju Motorcycles? local dealer in elgin has started selling them and they have quite an impressive spec; The Marathon Supermotard Pro 125 uses the new liquid cooled 15CV Yamaha 4-stroke 4-valve engine combined with a light weight alloy silencer for maximum power to weight ratio. The all new compact dual beam chassis provides perfect weight distribution for all riding conditions. Hi end suspension is provided by 40mm Marzocchi front forks, Rieju’s Progressive Racing System, mono gas shock rear shock with remote reservoir. Adjustable seat height. 17” Alloy Rims shod with sticky street tyres. Huge Galfer wave disc brakes (300/200mm) with radial mounted AJP gold series dual piston caliper up front. Steel braided hoses all round. As standard the Pro version comes with special edition Graphics, colour coded fork protectors, handguards, and digital instrumentation. Plus Pro Alloy handle bars with Domino grips Claims they use YZF125 engines, and due to being carbs, instead of injected the dealer will desrestrict up to just under 20bhp for free? at £3200 there deffo not in the same price range as your "chinese" tat, like the pulse, leximoto, superbyke etc, and boasting a yamaha engine makes me think they may actually be pretty decent? Thoughts? looking a new bike cos as you may have read my insurance is something stupid, and this fully comp was coming up jsut under £600 saying that, im off to look at another xj600n tonight
  2. Saying that, i moved 65 miles away from home when i was 17 to gain an apprenticeship, i am well aware of that bills and assocciated finances you are on about, luckily my mum and dad help out where they can but i cant expect them to fork out 2-3k to cover my bikes and car :-( will be the car thats going! i am not sacrificing 2 wheels for 4!, i mean, i can have 2 bikes to make up for the 4 wheels
  3. Well at 19 i have had my car since Aug and aint managed to kill anyone yet! cheers for the help guys, i also got a quote for one of that new honda 250's, the trials bike thing? and it was £2400 to insure FC, or £900 souley TP, not even fire and theft. being 19 sucks!
  4. short storey - when i was 16 i insured my 50cc scoot scoot for £183 fully comp, and it was valued at £350 since then, i moved onto a 125, then a 600, and now have a SV650S. Well times are getting tough, and i was planning getting a wee 50cc just for kicking back and forth between work and home. Found one online for £280 got an insurance quote and it was £210?! i dont understand why its so high! my XJ600N was fully comp insured with a value of £800 and it was only £240 to insure. someone shed a light on how they guage risk? as im only 19 im being humped left right and centre. do my 4 years ( as of aug) ncb and continious riding not count for jack shit? im having to sell my car this year as my insurnce for that has somehow got more awswell, and when i mean more its £1900 with a tracker in the car. i can honeslty say im not surprised so many young people run around with no insurnce. rant over...
  5. following the indicator wiring shouldn't be that hard, swap it out for the inidicator from the right and you will find out if its the actual indicator, or something before that. Have you checked the connections?
  6. i have mistakenly done this too before, i got a bit comfused thow - the bar is for general motorcycle chat, but the workshop is "yamaha workshop" havign a few bikes, where do you post if you want workshop advice on a non yamaha bike?
  7. yeah it has a reg plate . . looks like i'll be taking it down in the trailer then! haha
  8. So the local Rotory Club Marafun is this weekend coming, and there as usual will be a car and motorcycle rally. never had time to get any of our old bikes on the road this year - :'( however my old man got his BSA Winged Wheel Back from Grampian Transport Museam. My question is, when opering it as a push bike, am i still required to insure it? Thanks! and i was planning taking the SV but apparently it only likes the one cyclinder. again.
  9. i did read somewhere that sir William Wallace never rode a horse . . he had a yamaha
  10. why you selling your XT then? haha same, was brought up around my dad riding/working on bikes and got me interested into the nuts and bolts of them. Again, same as me. TT is the only racing i tend to watch. Other than that i just find the thrill of riding a buzz, dont get the same feeling from my car as i do my bike
  11. what the hell did i just watch ? :L
  12. They undercharged the the first time. The point im trying to make is that they made a deal with me, for the other parts, and this deal they did not deliver. therfor, according to the bank, breaching the contract for sales that had been made - and they should have gave me a full refund of my second payment
  13. cheers for the comments guys, i did think it was not getting used to the bike - but i was fine on it when i first had the step up, untill she started getting a bit loose in the wet. Basically, ive been on bikes (offroad) since i was about 10, then on the road at 16, never got my car tilll i was 19 and by that time i had passed my bike test and was on my bike, rain snow or shine - all year round. but yeah, hopefully when the weather improves a bit my confidence will just grow and grow, but i feel like i've backed down a heck of a lot from when i was on the yammy. my training is booked for the 25th of this month, starting with an assessed ride - so hopefully any problems/concerns i have will be raised there and resolved. being 19, the certificate i get from the DSA will apparently make about 30% reduction on the cost of my insurance . . . apparently . . .
  14. i did try breaking point haha - first call on everything even before flebay! got an indicator, just the one, for 4 quid as they didnt have the set, nae bad cos on ebay from breakers they are like £18 each! but yeah, phoned them to imform them that the bank have opened a dispute, and that i have informed everyone i know, including highlighting them on the various forums im members of, to stay welll clleaaar. Boy said the manager will be in touch
  15. yeah, i dont undestand how you can get taught to "speed resopnsibly" haha thats wht i wasnt sure what i was needing, all i was wanting was a something that would help me improve my current skills, aswell as help me gain confidence in myself and the bike. not sure if im just not used to the sv or dont like, but i've totally lost my balls since selling my yamaha, and i know its good to allways be on the cautious side, rather than the cockey side, but im weeey past cautuois. Probs just a mindset things . . .
  16. something that is a cheap fix is buying dry bags? poundland have them in at the moment with ther camping stuff! or have a look here - http://www.alpkit.com/shop/cart.php?target=category&category_id=295 and here - http://www.sportsdirect.com/outdoor-equipment/rucksacks/dry-bags-and-rain-covers
  17. cheers, i have done my bikesafe, and got an assessed ride with the police and and instruction from the advanced motorist bla bla but was wondering what the best option for me was, i phoned my instructor - whom i done my test with and he reccomended the enhanced rider scheme, being it cornering/wet that is knocking me back but will decided after i do an assessment ride
  18. they are not chinese, the are korien/american i had a RX125 - and it was pretty decent, 5 speed but could keep up with my mates cbr125 wand was faster of the line. you onto youtube and search for them - MCN did a review comparing it against the ninja 250
  19. whats the difference between advanced motorcycle and enhanced rider scheme? i want to do a bit of further training as my sv got a bti slippy in the rain, and i dont have near the confidence in it as i did my yammy Thanks, Matt
  20. been the unsuspecting victum there allready . . . nae good!
  21. my bank is on it - after phoning the company ended up phoning my bank to open a case against them. what happend was i ordered parts, and they undercharged me - no fault of my own. went to order more parts and they said they would make me a deal on the parts i was ordering since they made a mistake, so i paid a bit more on ordering the other panel, and they never sent anything out. phoned and asked whats happening - said they didnt have the parts in stock and would refund, then only refunded me £90 instead of the £144 i paid. dont think its fair that they made me a deal they were unable to deliver, then on refund kept money for another part nothing to do with that transaction.
  22. you may remmber this hwne i was needing my fuel pump for my yammy, well they have wjsut well and truely fkd me over for side panels for my SV. stay well away from MT Motorcycle unsell you actually physically go there and pic up n pay for parts. how could i bee so stupid as to beleve i was getting a too good to be true offer.
  23. she said its so much cheaper that me getting my anus bleached every two weeks . . .
