  1. Thanks buddy. Yer they are a good little bike i haven't had a proper ride on her yet as im still waiting on some new parts to arrive from Hong Kong so cant really say exactly how good they really are. Just re-skinned the seat the other night so that looks nice and new now.
  2. Sadly i dont mate but i still have my old 650 tank that's just sat in my loft. I could post it to you so you can see if it fits if you want?
  3. Mine is to ride Betty a few more times till i sell her, pass my CBT instrutors training this month and buy a new chopper / bobber project.
  4. Hey guys and gals, Sorry not been about for a while but i was arrested and put in the slammer just before midnight on new years eve. Long story short i was down in London ready for the count down and fireworks when a middle eastern man with beard and ruck sack started saying 10, 9, 8, 7............well im sure you would have all reacted the same as i did.
  5. Yer mine vibrates too so i wouldn't worry too much about it unless its the engine mounting bolts in which case you might find a sudden lack of power and weight reduction

I just cant figure out a good way to fix the con rods to the barrels to make it into a table, as one is ally and the other is steel cant really weld them together. if not might try and turn the barrels into a berrometer of some sort or 4 mini clocks with different countries time zones then flog it on ebay
  7. Yer i too have used Halfords petrol proof paint and it did go a milky colour but then it went clear when it cured. Its more a bastard to flat back i found, whereas the normal clear coat was easier to flat back

O right that sounds cool. I love bloke shed art and like you say it beats pictures of pugs and other tat thats around peoples houses. I was trying to use the front sprocket as the hands but the motor housing couldn't take the weight. Next thing to do is figure out what i can turn the old barrels and con rods into? Tried a table to hold 4 pint glasses but it failed

Well the wife is at work till late tonight and i was sat on the sofa attempting to find something of interest on the tv and as like normal i failed. So it was off to the man cave to find things to do and i spotted the old sprocket from the XJ and a spare bit of metal. Surely i could make them into something? Then i spotted the crappy clock i bought from Wilkinsonsfor £2 and then the idea happened. Now thats better suited to the man cave

  11. Hey Guys, Just an up date, I changed the spark plugs for brand new Iridium ones from Halfrauds last night and she's running like new, no bogging down and runs on both barrels. When i first read the thread on fake spark plugs i though it was a bit of tosh but i can now say that there is some logic behind it and i guess it does happen. Be very warey about buy them on line as you could end up having a bike thats dangerous to ride in the sence that half way round a round about you could either have on barrel go out or even the whole lot cut out all together. Stay safe
  12. The Day the Penis asked for a Raise I, the Penis, hereby request a raise in salary for the following reasons: I do physical labour. I work at great depths. I plunge headfirst into everything I do. I do not get weekends or public holidays off. I work in a damp environment. I work in a dark workplace that has poor ventilation. I work in high temperatures. My work exposes me to contagious diseases. Sincerely, P. Niss The Response Dear Penis: After assessing your request, and considering the arguments you have raised, the administration rejects your request for the following reasons: You do not work 8 hours straight. You fall asleep after brief work periods. You do not always follow the orders of the management team. You do not stay in your designated area and are often seen visiting other locations. You do not take initiative - you need to be pressured and stimulated in order to start working. You leave the workplace rather messy at the end of your shift. You don't always observe necessary safety regulations, such as wearing the Correct protective clothing. You will retire well before you are 65. You are unable to work double shifts. You sometimes leave your designated work area before you have completed the assigned task.. And if that were not all, you have been seen constantly entering and exiting the workplace carrying two suspicious-looking bags. Sincerely, V. Gina
  13. Well now you mention it Steve
  14. Id say either 3-4 days if not you will most likely have to wait till the new year
  15. This was a cracking read rossa, I've been saving this build thread for some time waiting to read it in full and i have to say you've done a cracking job on it. Well done and good effort buddy
  16. Well it was / still is raining but very light rain. When it first happened riding to Taunton it was a nice dry crisp winters morning so my initial thoughts could have been carb freeze but they are so close to the engine and tucked away i ruled it out. I think your rights with the fake spark plugs as before it happened he had iridiums in and now he bought NGK in "Genuine Triumph parts box" the trouble has started.
  17. Yer they are fine on that front OB, no cracks or nowt
  18. Thought you was going to say that but sadly they are in the bin
  19. Hey guys and gals, Well its not a yam but im having some strange issues with my mates 2007 Speedmaster (carbs) and was wondering if you had any ideas? Quick story to set the scene; My journey to work is 12 miles there then 14 miles home (different route home) he went away on board ship on manouvors and left me his bike to do a full service simples. He bought the full kit off ebay and all of the kit was genuine Triumph parts except the air filter was the wrong size so i had to keep his original one in the bike but thankfully it was still nice and clean with minimal dirt in it. I took it out for a ride to warm her up ready to drain the oil and she rode great and i actually fell in love with in. But her is where the issues started, After the service i took her for a ride to Taunton which is a good 38 - 40miles from home and about 10 ish miles in she dropped down to one cylinder then fired back up again? this happened three time on the way there and about 5 times coming home, i even stopped off in two laybys to see if she would "fix" her self but sadly not. Now last night i too out the right hand spark plug (the offending cylinder) and the gap was far too small which i admit was my fault for not checking to start with. So this morning i rode her to work and got about 10 miles into the ride with only a short bit to go to get to work i had to stop at a set of traffic lights and she ran great up till then and i thought that was the problem sorted, but i was wrong She didn't drop to one cylinder but when i went to pull away from tick over she was spluttering and hesitating like they do when running out of fuel (i filled her up on my way in) but then once she got to 2k RPM she was riding fine again. Then when i had to turn right into work and she dropped below 2000 RPM she coughed and spluttered lost power then picked up again once above 2k? I've re-checked the gaps on both spark plugs which are fine and the HT leads are connecting great. Its seams a tad strange that after a basic service of oil, oil filter and spark plug that she's running like a bag of shite. Any ideas?
  20. And finally the grab rails are on. O and thats cigarette ash on the paint not a blemish
