  1. I've had just under 80mph on mine down a hill. We have a dual carraigeway on i'd say a 20% gradient and I managed about 77mph. Just behind the red line too. Mine is a 3 month old YBR 125 2010 model and i've never had it go as slow as 55mph unless its up a steep hill. Guess i'm lucky
  2. Well i'm still learning and I think you can only get a buzz from a 125 if a wire's loose and shocks you!
  3. If you're getting it new from the dealers get it with them. They may even knock some off. I gave the guy in my dealers another sale because my mate wanted a bike and because he got a heap of commission he gave me a free top box for my YBR. If not just go on ebay. If this is your first bike I wouldn't bother putting all bits and bobs on it, just have it how it is and get some thicker gloves. Then within the next 3 years depending on when you're doing your test/age you can move onto a bigger bike get some gear put on it. But if this is a bike because it's cheap to run or for economical reasons then I suggest ebay or the dealer you got it from
  4. Yeah i'm no master by any means, i'm a lot more confident. Part of biking is being weary, but not worried. My dads a biker of over 20 years so I have him for advice. Yeah observation i've had that drilled into my brain. Hopefully i'll do my test in 6 months or so! Thanks for the advice
  5. Thanks for the reply but yeah, if everybody thought that way, everybody would have 125cc's as opposed to bigger bikes XD I'm happy with the speed I go at and never go above 40/45 unless I need to or go on a dual carriageway Yeah biking is instantly gratifying. I've had a car lesson and it didn't feel right. I can get on a bike and it feels so natural. In 3 years at the most I want to move up to a bigger bike probably a unfaired XJ6. They're incredibly beautiful bikes
  6. Well I say overtaking, what I mean is if he burns me on the spot or has a higher speed on dual carriage ways. What's your view on the speed/accel comparison. Is it a big difference? I've only been a biker for just over a week anyway and I feel pretty confident. Able to use the clutch properly at low speeds now But that's a different story!
  7. I've got a YBR 125CC 2010 black model. I got it just over a week ago. My friend is getting a YZF-R125. Obviously his is just under £2000 more but i've noticed that the speedo and everything is better quality. I'm just wondering which is the better bike, and what's the speed difference? Both accel and top speed. I don't want him overtaking me all the time

    2010 YBR Bulbs

I've just gotten a 2010 black YBR and the bulb in there is stock (Phillips HS1 35/35 watt 12v bulb) and I wanted a xenon as opposed to this glow worm. I bought this off ebay, I have no idea if it will actually work. I'd like an experienced member on here to tell me whether or not i'm making a mistake fitting this to my YBR http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/New-HS1-Super-white-Xenon-Motorbike-ATV-bulb-12v-35-35w-/370380407289?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts&hash=item563c6481f9#ht_2091wt_1139
  9. Thanks a lot I appreciate the advice
  10. That's a lot to think about for a new and first bike! Most of the roads back from my local dealers are national speed limit, and I don't want people overtaking me it's dangerous! So I might have to take it around 50/60 for 5 minutes at the most So you wouldn't recommend Moto Mans way of breaking in an engine? Thanks for the advice
  11. Ohhhhhhhhkay hey guys, i'm new here! Looking upon the deal of the 0% finance that's going on at the moment with the YBR's and i'm getting into this on Tuesday. I'm just wondering as to how to break the engine in. I know manufacturers say that you need to, essentially, baby it, but i've read in places that you need to just vary speeds and gears, don't rag it, but don't baby it either, just ride it how you normally would. This is so the piston rings set and don't glaze. I'm just wondering as to what the best method of breaking in an engine for a YBR is. I'd also like to add another question totally off topic. I noticed that the side panels (the new fairing on the 2010 model) has 'YBR 125' stickered onto it, but it looks like a very poor sticker (white background). I was just wondering whether or not that was covering the actual vinyl, or if that is the actual sticker. If it's the actual sticker it's quite poor Thanks, Dan
