  1. Hi Rob Oldgitonabike sent me this link and yes i can help, but depending on which pedal gear you require, i have the rear drive hub and sprocket and if you need i can take some pictures, the one i own has only 1 mile on the clock and has never been registered. PM me if you want Cheers TTB
  2. Yes the TY is from the first year of production with the frame number being 000205, they only manufactured them for 1 year with pedals, the bike i have has never been registered or restored and has only 1 mile on the clock so very rare. TTB
  3. Now i have finished this one i have an early XT500C to do, just stripped down this weekend and all parts going off for powder coating, zinc & chrome plating TTB
  4. Lincoln bike fest 12the June 2011 I have missed this over the last 2 times due to it not been advertised enough so here goes. http://www.woldsbikers.net/lincoln_bike_fest.htm http://www.lincolnbig.co.uk/events/lincoln-bike-fest-2010 TTB
  5. Hi Guys Thanks for the comments guys, Yamahahead & Oldgitonabkie its ts good to see you on another site , i just thought i would share the hard work and show what is capable from nearly a total wreck. Blackhat250 the barrel & head paint is Simonize VHT paint but i think Sperex is better, only problem is i havnt bee able to find any local. The tyres are Cheng Shin, bloody dangerous in the wet but period looks, i managed to get the last Tyre from Kedo in Germany. Cheers TTB
  6. Finally another restoration that i have just finished, it was a bit harder to fined parts here in the UK but now its done and runs fantastic. This is how i bought the bike which was seized and hadnt been running for years. Hope you enjoy the pics. TTB

    DT's

Nice DTs Nets, is the 400 yours and has it been restored . Just a taster of my latest DT incarnation. Only has to have the bash plate fitted and all the nuts & torqued up. TTB
  8. Yes couse it is, where did i get 55U , sound like a german sub. Anyway yes there should be green and brown wires rnning through the harness, switch gear is the same as the XT600 i think. Indicators for the TT are hard to come by in the UK, not too bad in the states. Front brake light will have to be a hydraulic unit piped into the brake reservoir.you could find an XT600 harness and alter that or get a manual and make one. TTB
  9. Hi Finster If its the early 55U model there should be indicator wires within the harness, you will need a battery as well which should be located in a small holder behind the LHS side panel. TTB
  10. Seen them and the red one is very nice indeed. Wish it was mine. TTB
  11. The only ones available i now are www.yamahaenduro.com ( american based but limit access from anybody using car phone ware house server ) www.thumpertalk.com ( american based but a wide range of machines ) www.trailbikeandenduroclassics.com ( many UK members but mostly XT & DT ) Cant think of any others at the moment. TTB
  12. Yeh Make sure the motor is ok, only problem with the dt is the rhs crank seal which is near obsolete. Though the honda atc20r uses the same seal. TTB
  13. Arh well , I cant help you make your mind up, but they do ride well and i cant wait to get mine on the road this summer. I will have my DT1E on the road as well but its mainly because i have had to get it motd and insured just to get it registered. Go for it but see if you can get it for less £1200 would be a good price Chers TTB
  14. Its a fair bit of money but it wouldnt take much to sort, mine was £500 off flebay. Will get mine sorted first. TTB
  15. If thats your bike its better than what i have started with, is it for sale. TTB
  16. I dont often sell bikes, just finished the resto of my DT1 and did a full resto on my XT500 last year, ( featured in december issue classic motorcycle mechanic ). What do you need for your 360 i have a few spare engines and some other bits i may have spare, i take it that its a DT360A and not the earlier RT360. PM me if you want. Cheers TTB you tube markcoppersmith there is a vid of my running dt360 http://www.youtube.com/user/markcoppersmith#p/u/3/hJORwlNXSQE
  17. Hi Clive Nice TS185 farm bike on bike pics, i used to drool over one in one of the bike shop windows, and yes i think you where mad to sell the DT400, awesome bike there. TTB
  18. Hi Clive Welcome to the forum, i suppose it could be a number of things, first thing i would look at is the carb and the fuel tap .If its been left there could be crud in the main jet or not enough fuel being delivered to the carb, it also could be the main end seal that are failing, usually the generator side as they will run dry and go hard over time. Alternatively it may be the air filter being blocked or as you say just not jetted right. Good luck with the DT360 and when you get some pictures please add some on, just starting my resto on my DT360, not posted any pics yet but i will once i start to get bits back. Cheers TTB
  19. Yes Nets it will be on us quicker than we think, Arhh summer months riding down country lanes, i can see it now, how wonderful our hobbies are, good job everybody dosnt want to do it. TTB
  20. Squires , well you never know but i would have to come on the XT500 , any way here is the DT360 before stripdown. Here it is at the moment, frame just come back from powder coating, fork stantions are at philpots as they where really bad, zinc plating has come back so all i have to do now is send the tinware off for painting and send the parts off for chrome plating. Here is a utube link on the day i managed to get it up and running http://www.youtube.com/user/markcoppersmith#p/a/u/1/hJORwlNXSQE Yes it does go well. TTB
  21. Fully agree Nets, cracking bike both of them. I have another DT1 a 69 model but no lights and a 21" front wheel which i think i may turn into a MX version. Looks like yours would have been much harder project to restore than mine, so well done there. Got to admit it was your bike and article in the mag that got me looking for the early DT, trouble is i cant find the copy of the magazine now. I wonder how many DT1 there are in the UK. TTB
  22. Hi OGOAB I had all the zinc plating redone and nearly all the chrome work redone as well, new cable where bought from the states but they where pattern parts, very good copies though, new shock but pattern rechromed indicators, new tyres and tubes.Tyres where a problem as the front is an obsolete size so i had to go for a 300 x 19 rather than trying to find a 3.25 x 19. Answer to your question the paint inside the rim is Hammerite No1 rust beater. Cheers TTB
  23. Here is how it started, all there and solid with very little rust. Hope you enjoy the pictures TTB
  24. After restoring the bike for 4 months its finished, its motd and insured so i can now get it registered. Its been a good resto which i have enjoyed, fairly easy but most of the bits have to come from the states. I have done all the polishing and wheel rebuilding, rebuilt the motor and re-sheathed the controls. Soon to enjoy this summer Next resto is my DT360 Cheers TTB
