my bike does not have a auto advance

got haynes book can fit the points dont know about time it and i cant tell atm if it has a auto advance one thing i forgot to say before is that when i am riding it it sort of hesitates every so often

they spark but i can sometimes see it come out of the side of the points

yep replaced condenser not so long ago

took it to the garage he seems stumped he said it doesnt need a top end rebuild but something isnt right could anyone tell me of any signs of ignition timing being set up wrong please?

update: took it out today and it feels like every few seconds it hesitates i can feel it im also thinking about getting a rebore and new piston

mixture screw is set right air filter is ripped but was the same before that happened if i pull the choke up the bike splutters and cuts out it just doesnt sound or feel like it has any power in 4th at all

forgot something it does also get very hot and isnt to good on fuel

cheers mate will take a look btw dont know if this helps but even with the weather like it is now it starts first kick in the morning with no choke it doesnt sound like piston slap its just a rattle and only when i get to the high end of a gear it seems to pull ok in all other gears apart from 4th 1st to 2nd 15mph 2nd to 3rd 30mph 3rd to 4th 45mph and thats all it will do

my yb100 just wont seem to go anywhere in 4th it either stays the same speed or like most of the time drop i change from 3rd to 4th at about 40-45mph bought 1 smaller sprocket no difference

hi was out riding yesterday and i saw some horses so i pulled the clutch in to sort of coast past them not to scare them as soon as i got back on the throttle the bike popped from the exhaust and hesitated it stopped then further up the road only about 300 yds it did it again but stalled i thought it had just flooded so we left it tried bumping it etc cleaned the plug the usual stuff but i never got it started havent tried it this morning but will do soon just wondered if any of you guys knew what the problem could be cheers webi

bought a new baffle for my 1988 yb100 got it today in post it said it was for a fsie but fits a yb100 it is alot smaller than the one that is in the silencer already i wonder if you guys think it would be ok to put it in the part number is 257 - 14753 - 00

the cap you pulled off mate is called a ht lead it just pushed back onto the top of the spark plug and all is fine find a deep socket or a proper spark plug socket and screw it out from the cylinder then check the gap if you have a manual and clean it

right guys thanks for your replies set the plug gap with feeler gauges was 0.014 inch i think but earlier i was going along it backfired (sounded like it was spitting from the exhaust a sort of splutter i guess) and died had to run and bump it 3 times to get it to clear think it flooded it then also did it when entering my village but didnt bog down and flood i think it is flooding anyway not really sure what started this was i was doing 25-30 and instead of going into 3rd gear i knocked it down into 1st

yer i found it quite funny lol out of no where a red ferrari pops out edit: think i have found the problem the points are closed

i was riding my yb100 saw a ferrari and knocked it down a gear instead of up it made a horrible noise and started backfiring and lagging cant think of any word to describe it when i am going along it pulls back for less than a second the stops for another half sec then does it again. left it for a bit not backfiring but at 40ish the bike does the lagging thing just wondered if you knew what it could be maybe thanks webi edit: i can actually physically feel it pulling back is this misfiring?

do you have any trouble starting the bike and is the gearbox oil going down it could be crank seals. the mixture screw is 1/2 turns out on my manual

hi guys i wonder if anyone with a yb100 could help my bike either drops speed in 4th or stays the same this is where i change gear 1st - 2nd 15 mph 2nd - 3rd 30 mph 3rd - 4th 40-45mph and it either stays at 45 or drops back down it seems like it has no pull

last one looked like it hurt the kid on the moped was funny
