  1. the broken boot is the one in the pic next to the green caliper at the top of page.even if i repaired it, it wont go inside in the groove there, its as if its gotten too big, tried freezing it in freezer even, no go. as a very last resort I could superglue it on somehow but dont fancy it, sort of roadside repair job, but not long term.
  2. Yup much smaller, the slidebar on the DTX which goes inside the two boots is about 8mm, whereas the slide bar on the TDR is about 16mm
  3. lol seen it Paul, theres another on there for £29 and thats incomplete too, my way of thinking was why buy another caliper and next clean service, and may come to needing parts. I'm gonna be back to square one, thats why I went for the DTX one, cos atleast I can get spares for that,as its common type of Brembo , and can flog it on for people SM'ing their DTR, at least till I can source somewhere for bits for the TDR brembo, as it's now become a task to find a 10 bob rubber boot for it somewhere. albeit a Herculean task.
  4. Aye ta Paul, good chance it may be same, been reading a fair bit about the yam stuff built under licence in Italy recently, tweaked them up good n proper, they did a dtr/tzr/tdr 125 sp engine good for 36-38bhp, 4dl stuff.
  5. Cheers Dave but i'll bet it won't show the 3sh model, the cmsl.com site i use misses it out 3sh completely, and aye deffo difference between the two brembos the TDR is for a floating 320mm disk, the DTX one has a floating bracket at the rear, mountings are different too, absolutely crazy huh? I reckon Merv may have helped some by putting me on to that TZR parts list.
  6. Cheers Merv, the tdr 96 you linked for me is showing a Brembo, but it's the DTX Brembo, although the link for the 4dl TZR link does again show the Brembo caliper but it's the 4 pot, mines only two,but it does look very much like mine, same mounting centres by the look of it, but not a good view of the actual boot, but can ring round with that knowledge, but where you've really helped me out, is I have the Brembo Front master cylinder plus lever, I wanted to fit, but the brake switch spade terminal had broke off, and its a wierd screw on block type, not the normal bayonet fitting like most, so now I can order from that TZR parts list, cheers again bud.
  7. It was Brembo UK I rang Merv, chuffin useless, if I could just get hold of a parts list I reckon I could sort it, everywhere I ring up, they tell me that because its an import(the TDR Italia)nothing shows up on their micro fiches, I've even managed to find the model code prefix which is '3SH' and still no joy.
  8. I had to buy a different DTX Brembo caliper off Ebay the other day Paul, just so I can use the bike, infact while looking around for one, I rang these up that are selling that one you've linked to, as its missing the 'L'shaped sliding mounting bracket at the rear, I reckon that there will be a few people duped if they think they're getting the full caliper. Obviously if I can get the TDR caliper sorted I will do, because of all the time taken cleaning then spraying, plus its got spanking new EBC pads in too, then I can sell on the DTX one on,just seems daft I can't use it because of a 2 bob rubber boot. Cheers for having a look round for me mate, 'tis appreciated.
  9. Recently purchased a set of wheels that came off a 1992 TDR125R Italia, so that I can SuperMoto my DTR, the Brembo caliper that came with the wheels also off the TDR Italia, needs a rubber boot, the larger of the two boots on the slider tube, been told I cant just buy a replacement rubber boot, and that I have to buy the whole caliper, which ain't going to happen!! So I was wondering if anybody with knowledge of these type of TDR's or any TDRcome to that, could put me on to a parts list from somewhere, as I can't find one for love nor money, or whether they have the knowledge of compatible boots from other TDR Brembo calipers, or even possibly have a boot knocking about somewhere in their garage / workshop? Cheers in advance Nev
  10. Aye daft ain't it, I'll ask on workshop thread see if there are any TDR owners out there might put me onto a compatable one. I'll just use a DTX brembo I got off Ebay till then.
  11. Aye I saw that done to, but heating it up like that and then a couple of weeks of this weather you'll have cracks appearing all over the place, I reckon anyroad.
  12. My lad Paul, I promised him if he gets off his backside, and gets a job I'll let him use it, he wants to be the envy of his mates, I want him to pay some chuffin board, bit of a carrot really,
  13. Well both TDR wheels are on the bike now, so it's pretty much Sumo'd up, just need to make the conversion bracket so I can still use the DTR forks, along with the 320mm TDR disc, and the DTX Brembo caliper, btw a word to the wise, if by anychance you come across a Brembo caliper for a TDR, and accidently split one of the slider rubber boots, BEWARE!! you can't get a replacement one for love nor money, you have to buy the whole frigging caliper, ffs. i even rang up Brembo UK to try and get one,
  14. yet another little problem to sort out is the airbox hose oh,and the inlet side too.... Dave, just an idea to toy with , but could you not cut off the tabs from the airbox coupling, so that it sits inside rather than outside the carb intake, then get some flat rubber vaccuum cleaner drive belt about 1/2" wide, cut it to size so it sits over the carb intakem maybe (1mm over), and using either rubber glue or araldite glue all around it to the airbox coupling, making it airtight, and when its dried, I reckon you'll be able to jubilee clip it onto the carb as normal, you can even cut off the original internal coupling now if it gets in the way of owt inside the carb intake.or at least cut it right back.. Just a thought, Nev

Aye, dangleberries lol, not heard that for years.
  16. Well I reckon a 4ft fishtank, upside down, would make a cheap showcase for it, you got an alcove it would fit in? lol
  17. Lol, not wanting to teach ya ta suck eggs or owt Pat, but arent you doing up bike for a young 'un? new panels.is that wise? probably buy new panels, aye lol ,but bang old ones back on for a couple of weeks at least. it's horrible to see a grown man cry lol
  18. Coming along real nice Pat, you've done a cracking job mate. Came across this on Ebay, don't know if its any use to you?, or even maybe the site?. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MiniMoto-Mini-Moto-Dirt-Bike-METAL-PULLSTART-PULL-START-/380388108142?_trksid=p4340.m1374&_trkparms=algo%3DPI.WATCH%26its%3DC%252BS%26itu%3DUCC%26otn%3D5%26ps%3D63%26clkid%3D6157533499350832645
  19. Cheers Dave, if all goes well with the SM conversion, and handles well for road use I'll more than likely do the same with my XT600, that'd be good I reckon.
  20. Picked up wheels, forks and brembo caliper, all came with spindle and speedo unit, not sure if DT spacer will fit or not, deffo need the inspection rubber for the caliper much bigger than the DT one, all off a c1990-1992, TDR 125R ITALIA model, but having a job to find a parts list for a TDR that early, so as to price up bits. Gave the wheels a bit of a tickle up,for saying the wheels are 20 odd years old very good nick, and the stainless spokes are like new, rims slightly scraped, but nothing a rattle can of black gloss and green rim tape won't sort outmind. Hoping there may be a TDR owner out there may help me out, regardng info? All sprayed and cleaned up, just waiting on the rim tape
  21. Any news back from DVLA yet Dave? I'd be inclined to get a v5 form and send it off to them, with its original reg number, if they um and arr about it being an insurance write off, ask them to send one of their blokes out, to check the frame , one came out for a scoot I did for the lad, they couldn't understand how a ten year old bike only had 32 miles on it.
  22. Pick up the wheels and forks and brembo up on Thursday, am going to make a caliper bracket for the Brembo, so as to try to keep the DT forks, that way it can go from Supermoto,, to Enduro set up in half an hour if needs be, can't see me going off road/green laning on it, but my lad will want to. I'll just need to sort out another big disc out for the 21" wheel. Still having issues with it suddenly dying on me, (re-starts imediately afterwards mind) and deffo feels electrical, and am still with the thinking its a dodgy wire on the magneto/stator loom, looking for the 2 pin 'cats eye' connectors on the magneto/CDI with a couple of inches of wiring left on, if you have any knocking about Paul? the replacement stator I have off a bottom half engine, I recently got was chopped instead of plugs pulled/undone, why I'll never know, but there ya go, and although the stator looks decent, it's still a bit of an unknown quantity as to whether its good or not,(only paid £6.00 for the whole bottom engine, so it's either a door stop or an absolute bargain at that price, and have already used the clutch basket off it as it was like new) and I dont fancy chopping the plugs off the one on the bike, as at least I know that one works, albeit tempermentaly.
  23. Finally got round to putting the servo assisted powervalve on the bike yesterday, by christ theres a hell of a difference from before when it was pinned half open.
