  1. Yes, both bikes have the original frames and engines. I presume the forks , carbs wheels, gearbox and tanks are original to them too. I dont have the original registrations for either, and whenever i go onto any of these search things they say i need the 17 digit vin, or the 11 digit registration number on the v5. I can't find a 17 digit number anywhere on the bike - their numbers are only 9 digits long, unless you count the stars at the beginning and end and they hyphen..lol Thanks again. I will give them a call asap and see what comes up.
  2. I'm in the Uk. The site doesn't have a Namibian flag (where i've lived for years) so the Rainbow Nation's one is the closest/ Thanks for your help. I will see what i can do. I bought the other sr250 thinking it was registered, but it turns out the number plate issn't for that bike. I just hope I can sort it out. I have papers from Yamaha to say what year they were manufactured.
  3. I am looking for any info on registering a rebuilt bike. I bought the sr250 as an insureance write off. It hadn't been in an accident, just stolen and replaced. My brother keeps saying i will have trouble registering it once its done. Infact he said that i could loose it altogether due to the frame number coming up as a write off. Does anyone have any advice. If that really is the case i will transfer everything onto the other sr250 frame, including the engine. The other thing he said is that i might have real trouble finding an insurer for a bike on a 'q' plate, which he says i'll have to register it as. Help please.
  4. Thanks for that and congrtulations. Anyway, let me know what your friend's band says. I shall pass on the info to my friend, she is actually the one doing this thing - i'm just trying to be helpful because I can't get to the opening night. Hopefully you and your wife will manage to get to the opening night on the 16th of September. Their first band is brilliant - The Morris Brothers - excellent. for details go to www.rockatmoloko.co.uk / or .com, i'm not sure which.
  5. Hi, this is just for the people in the Uk really. My friend in Devon is starting a fortnightly rock nights venue and is looking for bands in the south - or not too far from the south - to play in the future. they are looking for classic rock tribute and covers bands and some that do their own stuff. It might prove to be very good for a little known band who is trying get into the pub music scene. Anyway, do any of you know any bands, or know of any or are in a band? If so, please let me know the name and website or e-mail address and I will pass it on to her. The opening night is on the 16th of September at Rock At Moloko. I will let you know any other details if anyone is interested. thanks.

    engine seized

Thanks. i will certainly try that. I did think of that perhaps I should remove the spark first a few minutes after asking for advise. DUH!!!!!! I should have thought of that before.
  8. My bike has been standing for about a year now while I've been working on it...now its somewhere near nearly ready but it appears that the engine has seized up. What is the best way to test it manually (without starting the engine) and what do I do about it?

    Hi there

Hi, nice bike. I have a SR250 SE Special...it will look good one day - but its nice to see someone with something similar. I've only seen 1 other sr125.
  11. I got that a while ago, i've also had 1 or 2 similar things in the post - someone with my last name and no other relatives has died and left so many millions in the bank but only I can help whoever it was get it out for a percentage of however much it was. And - 'I'm a Zimbabwean who needs to get money out of Zimbabwe, can I use your bank account. I got your address from the South Africans abroad (or something) register@ or something to that effect. No you didn't because you've spelt my name wrong - the same way the stupid mailing list people spell it and I am not on any South African list of any sort - stupid. There must be people falling for it - or else these people would surely have given up.

    wiring

I know I'm going to sound VERY STUPID in a moment, but I need to know about the RUN wire on my bike. I have attached the KILL wire to one of the coil wires, and seems logical to me that the RUN wire would go on there too. Am I right? If not - where? And what amp wiring should I be using? I am using 5amps at the moment for all the controls. I also don't see why they can't be joined somewhere outside the handle bar control goodie....either there will be a spark or there won't.
