    My R6

The can is a Racefit exhaust. From a company in the UK called Racefit strangley enough. The sound from it is totally nutts. Sounds like a twin. It was around £500 and they now supply an optional removable baffle which wasn't available when i bought my exhaust RaceFit They make a couple of different pipes for the R6
  3. Alright chief. Try these fellas. They make good quality kits and you can order seperate graphics from a kit instead of the whole thing if ya want. I've used them and they are good. Motorbike Graphics
  4. Alreet folks. I've heard a few reports lately sayin that there's a restrictor plate of some kind in the 06/07 R6. Anyone know anything about this and if it's worth removing if it is there? Cheers

The pic with my sister on the bike is pretty much how it looks now. Oh, almost forgot. There a DB screen and a set of Pazzo adjustable levers on there too

    My R6

Alreet folks. I joined here last July and forgot all about it.lol. Just found the place while i was searching for something. Well i've had my R6 for a year now and have made a few changes over the past year. Fitted a Power Commander Fitted a race airfilter Fitted Harris Rearsets Fitted a lot of decals, then removes some of them. Fitted a RaceFit Growler Rossi Rep GP exhaust (with Termi decal) Think thats about it Behave yourselves, thats my sister And my good self And a little video of the bike in the garage a few weeks ago 06 R6
  7. Well thats why we have forums old boy. You get enough people together, and together we know everything. Maybe i should have gone to the GSXR forum. I'm sure they'd know about an R6
  8. Slip-on usually means end can. I've fitted it already anyway. Sounds great and no ill effects from disconnecting the EXUP valve. All is well. I have to say, i expected more of a response to this, being a Yamaha forum and what not
  9. Not sure if this has anything to do with it but, i just bought the Akrapovic Megaphone pipe for my R6. In the fitting instructions it says you have to disconnect the EXUP Valve but leave the servo electrical supply connected otherwise you'll get an error warning on the dash. Maybe they have disconnect the servo electrical supply and not re-connected it. Just a thought
  10. Hello all. I have just bought the Akrapovic Megaphone slip-on race exhaust for my 06 R6. From what i can gather, the EXUP valve needs to be disconnected to fit this pipe. What exactly does the EXUP system do? What effect does it have on the performance of the bike and how will the bike be different once it's disconnected? Is running the bike without the EXUP valve connected a good thing or a bad thing? Thanks
  11. Bought her 5 weeks ago. Just had the 600 mile service done last week and she is sweet as a nut. This bike was just made for me. I'm 5'5" and quite slim so i fit perfectly on top. I had to drop the rear shock down by 2 clicks because i just couldn't manage to get both toes on the ground at the same time.lol. It is rather tall for a sports bike. I pretty much have to get off to back it up for anything more than a few feet. I was considerind a damper but i have been told that unless i'm gonna be on the pipe around mad country lanes, i really wouldn't need one as the front end is a lot more stable than earlier models. In second gear the bike just wants to take off. Second gear feels very twitchy to me. 3rd is a little smoother for plodding around town. So far i've had her up to around 140mph with my chin on the tank and it's so smooth that it feels like it's doing 50mph. Certainly felt like there was a hell of a lot more in her. Great bike so far. handles like a dream and certainly turns heads as people try to work out what the hell it is.lol. The pic was taken in a petrol station on the way back from the NorthWest 200 a few weeks ago. I had people telling me not to buy the new R6 because they would be common as muck this summer. The whole way up to the Northwest and the whole time i was there and on my way home, the only other 2006 r6's i seen where the ones racing around the course in the superstock races. So much for common as muck. If you want a bike that always has a crowd around it when you come out of a cafe, you want the new R6 Since that picture was taken, i've bought and fitted LED flush mount indicators for the front and a tail tidy and LED's for the rear. Looks very smart. I'll post a more recent pic tomorrow.
  12. Chrisw is right. There is a point in a sequential gearbox when it actually wants to change gear itself. You just put a little upward pressure on the selecter and snap the throttle closed. if you get it right, you shouldn't actually have to kick it up. Just keep the pressure on it and it will go itself. Having said that. My new R6 owners manual clearly states not to clutchless shift as this gearbox is not designed to do it. I think it only states that to cover Yamaha's ass though. If they were to say, oh go ahead and clutchless shift on this bike. They are almost telling you to break most speed limits as the correct rev range required to clutchless shift are usually fairly high, usually meaning high speeds also. And we can't have people on bikes going around at high speed now can we?
