  1. Riding with your balls out ! Have you split them new trousers? I told you they were too tight. You couldn't find your way through the gears unless you had a map. I did state on my original post only going UP the gearbox. I have managed to get home doing both, once, when the bikes clutch cable snapped. ATB J
  2. O.K. I admit to doing clutchless gear changes going UP through the box. I find it gives a smoother change and no chance of finding a false neutral. My mate 'UP.YOURS' and fellow Y.O.C. member struggles to do them. Mind you - hes only just learnt to eat with a knife and fork. Does anyone else do cluthless changes? ATB J
  3. When I see 'shit face' next I will pass on your message. 'UpYours' is living proof that all men are animals. He just proves that some make better pets. ATB J
  4. Yes. His in growing toe nail has come back. ATB J

I'm also a newcomer to this web site although an old hand with motorbikes and already Ive been shown kindess when I was unable to post in the 'FOR SALE' section. Some one (Drewpy) posted my advert for me while the mods sorted out the problem. Great ! ATB Ian
  8. Its always worth having a look on the insurance comaprison sites. Theres loads of them. The should be a comparison comparison site. I use EBike insurnace. ATB Ian
  9. Sir! Your a gentleman. THANK YOU. ATB Ian
  10. As I still cant post in the FOR SALE section would someone kindly post the following in there for me. WORKSHOP MANUALS. Genuine Yam XS500. Tatty cover but fully readable. 314 pages A4 size £25. Yam. TY250B Trail. Cycleserv manual. 119 pages. Excellent condition. £15. Both, plus postage of your choice at cost. Contact: [email protected] THANK YOU. ATB J
  11. Thanx. Much appreciated. ATB J
  12. On the 9th July I paid £5 for a - 'Lifetime. No garage access' membership. ATB J
  13. How do you post in the 'For Sale' section? I know I am a newcomer to this site and there has to be a certain amount of security but I have paid the subscription fee and still I cant post in that section. Its just that Ive got a genuine Yam manual (XS500) and a Cycleserv manual (TY250B) which are of no use to me. Ive tried contacting a mod with no success. ATB J
  14. I always lock my bike up even if Im only away for a few minutes. I will always remember the look on my mates face when we once returned to the car park to find his (unlocked) bike missing. Gutted ! ATB J
  15. Have you tried a comp test after putting a very small quantity of oil down the bore via the plug holes? If there is a marked increase in pressure it may just be the vales need re seating. HTH J
  16. Some models of Yamaha have a special order for the clutch plates to be fitted. I found I had no clutch on my FZX when I reinstalled the new plates in the wrong order. ATB Ian
  17. Put a small amount of fresh neat petrol, just a spoon full, direct into the plug hole. Use a new spark plug, they are cheap and with the ignition on crank it over. If it runs for a few seconds then dies its probably a fuel supply fault that you have got. e.g. carb, bad petrol etc. Hope that helps, J
  18. An air leak on the intake manifold ???? VERY CAREFULLY (due to the fire risk) try spraying a mist of petrol or Eazi Start round the intake when its running to see if the engine speed increases. VERY CAREFULLY ! ATB J
  19. For washing and de-greasing I use Pro Clean. Unlike Jizer and Gunk if you miss a bit you can re apply and it doesn't instantly react (turn white) with the water. Its also not slippy on the floor. Does anyone use MAAS polish as advertised in this months(July, p 30) Classic Bike? Looks interesting. ATB J
  20. If women had to list what men couldn't do or do properly we could be here all day ! ATB J
  21. Hi Dave, I live in the neighbouring town and used to use K & K Dixon in Accy many years ago when they used to be main agents for Triumph (Meridan). They are one of, if not the, oldest established bikes shops in the area. Use with confidence. HTH Ian
  22. Oh yes it did! (Im too computer blonde to be able to alter it. ) FXZ 750 ATB Ian
  23. 1994 import model. Black/blue. Immaculate condition to the extent it still has the original stickers on the petrol tank, chain guard, shocks and forks. Less than 24,000Km. Original exhaust still in excellent condition. Slight dink on silencer. New f pads, battery and Scott oiler. Been dry stored for the past 4 years but run up regularly. Im getting to old and knackered to manage a big bike so Ive got a XV535 to potter around on. Any ideas whats its worth? ATB Joshua
