Hi all I'm new here I have a dt125mx 1981 it idles perfectly revs clean on the side stand, pulls away fine but then stutters and vibrates on part throttle and cruising along it is the same, if I open the throttle all the way it sorts it's self out and accelerates fine, if I move the needle all the way up it gets worse so I lowered it which is slightly better but not much I have tried everything I can think of to sort the running issues out I have, Rebuilt the engine top and bottom new everything. New Carb just to eliminate the old carb Rebuilt the original mikuni checked the float height, same running issue with both carbs. Idle jets I h…

Looking for a little help as I’m totally stumped. DT MX 175. Top end rebuild. A modern replacement has an inlet port stud spacing of 71mm x 51mm. The part info says it will fit a 1981 - w reg. The actual one on the bike that needs a rebuild is about 57mm x 47mm The engine number code is 2k4 denoting 1979-1982 so the part should fit but it won’t. The new has a twin inlet and the original has a single inlet. 1st pick is the new part, others are the old.

I am looking for information about what is hidden under the front left cover of 2002 Virago vxs 125. Mine was disassembled, so I have no idea what part I am missing. I am trying to solve problems with the carburetor and start the bike. I think there must be an issue with the vacuum line. I would appreciate to see any picture or description. I have a Service manual for the 2000 model, but can not find any specific data on that point in it. Thank you

Gents. Having some issues with a mates Dt125 oil pump. Auto lube pump seems to be working on throttle but not on tick over, see video link. Note you can see it going up and down on throttle but not on tick over it sort of sits their in one position. Currently got a bottle hooked up with pre mix in until I solve this issue. Would air in the pump cause this? Thanks in advance

Hi all, Thanks for the help previously, much appreciated. I have recently acquired a Yam TW125 for some green-lane fun. Bike starts fine and seems to idle OK too. When building revs very slowly the bike seems to reach max with no issue. When opening the throttle fast the bike bogs down and dies, unless I let off immediately. The plug was quite sooty, I thought it must be too rich. All of my research however tells me that my symptoms are that of a lean bike and I should adjust float hight. I have been experimenting swapping multiple sizes of pilot and main jet. Just swapped to a larger main, 120, and noticed fuel coming from exhaust, must be to…

Anyone know what i am missing? Spark plug socket wont go down over ones in bike. There appears to be something sitting over the plugs. Crude pic attached. Is there anything unique about these bikes? Asked question on American site and they said there are helicoils fitted (to all 4??) and i need a new cylinder head. Seems a bit extreme! Even if helicoils were fitted, you still need to screw the plugs into place. Thanks in advance.

Just bought an '09 big bang, my first, as a mini project that needed a good tidy and tlc.Started ok before buying, but hasnt started since I got it back. Had a 22 error code andI replaced the sensor, knowing that wasnt the root.Wasnt till I tried again I heard the pump prime and it fired up, but didnt run long. Rarelyis the pump priming, but when it does it starts. When the pump doesnt prime there is a faint high pitched whine.Any opinions on the best fault finding path? Where to start first? I have an incling it maymay be the ignition, as I've had that with another bike. But this is the first bike I've ownedwith a red key/immobiliser. Are ignition replacements as straight…

Hi, I bought a project bike xvs 125 recently (i think its the same setup as 250). I have sorted out all electrics and have the bike starting with easy start directly into the carb. When I bought it, the whole fuel system including carb, fuel pump and hoses were off the bike. Does anyone have any pictures / video of how the fuel lines connect between each component please? Thanks so much in advance for any help you can give:)

Hi Everyone and thanks for reading this or even suggest a cure! My DT175mx hasn't run right since I've had it. It was a full refurb job and have been doing it up over the last 3 years. When I finished it and first started it, it wasn't running right. Since that day I can't tell you how many times I've tried different things. When its first started, for the first 10 seconds it sounds ok. Then it starts choking on fuel. It wont rev past 4000rpm and just smokes. It won't tick over and the tick over adjustment screw on the carburettor has no effect whatsoever. If the petrol is switched off, it will eventually run absolutely fine for a brief period until the pet…

Hi there. I have a problem with my xvs1100 engine ticking. I had the same thing on my 750 Virgo and the garage managed to sort it out but didn't tell me what exactly it was. It's coming from the left side where the timing gears are and it's driving me mad. I've been told to just set the tickover higher but it just sounds crap. Any help would be great thanks. Steve

My son and I, are in the process of repairing an older Yamaha SZR 660. Last season it ran fine, right up to a point where it would not start. It was set aside, but now we're looking at it, to fix the issue. We found that the bike, was fitted with an unoriginal electric fuel pump, and some wiring/relay for this. This pump was deemed faulty, as it could not produce pressure. We ordered a new fuel pump, which is an vacuum operated one, like the original one. To this also a set of new fuel lines, and a new fuel cock. After the fitment for these parts, a new spark plug, removal of wiring for the electric fuel pump, and some repairing of other damaged elect…

Hiya, I am trying to sort out a problem with my SR250. Bike starts OK but backfires on 1/2 to full throttle, I've replaced the main jet with a larger one because the exhaust pipe has no baffle and the air filter is now a pod one (bike came like that so I'll work with what I have) I have tried to get a slightly larger pilot jet #50 but so far I'm not quite sure which one is correct. The one I have is #47.5 with 6 holes in the side, there seems to be some out there with no holes in the side and one with 8 holes in the side. Does anyone know which one is right and what the difference is please?

I have a Zuma 49cc 2 stroke. Last time riding I was cruising at 40 mph then the speed just dropped to 30-35, out of no where! This happened after about 30 minutes. It never got back up to speed and seems to have just lost top end. I took carb apart & cleaned, new plug, fuel supply/vent okay, air filter okay, exhaust manifold gasket/seal checked, and also burned out the little carbon that was in my exhaust pipe. I am at a complete loss. Would reeds have this effect on scooter after it heats up? One reed was against the valve, and the other 3 had a gap of about 1/8”. Or could it be cylinder/top end damage or wear? Thanks for any advice. I just don’t know what …

Recently restored my Diversion 600 after 11 years ! The fuel tap has been rebuilt with a refurb kit, but there is a leak from the tap. It's not the tap to tank, it's from the front of the tap. Tightened everything up as far as sensible. Also, the vacuum pipe gets soaked in fuel and detaches easily. Do I need to buy a brand new tap, if so, who sells a reasonable quality tap ? The second hand taps for sale on the well known auction site seem to sell for about £40 (condition unknown). Photo attached of the bike for interest.

Hi, I've recently purchased a YBR125 and after being flashed by a few motorists I've realised there's an issue with the brake light. When triggered by the rear brake there's no issue, it goes on and off in time with the brake. However, when the front lever is depressed then released, the light will stay on, unless I push the lever just slightly further so it hits the brake light switch enough to trigger the light off. This seems like it shouldn't be too big of a repair, however because the guy I purchased it from is conveniently ill, I was wondering if there's an adjustment I can make to sort this (if only temporarily)? Thanks all.
