Well first of all thanks for checking this out! (my first post ) I've just started getting into bikes and have gotten my first (Tzr50 04) I bought this bike second hand and the bike was also imported from Spain, the problem is that finding parts for this bike is very difficult and the bike needs a lot of work although it runs fines the digital speedo doesn't work, it registers as 00mph the Rev counter also digital doesn't work either, my questions are: 1.How do you find parts for an imported bike when there's not many of them? 2. How should I go about fixing the problem with the speedo? 3. Does anyone know of a bike that's shares parts with my bike, I was thin…

Hi all! I've just joined as I'm attempting to fix up my 1990 XJ600 (with 38k). I bought it a few years ago as a commuter bike, but it needs some TLC to get it working right again. I'll be needing to sort out the fork seals, valve clearances and possibly the head bearing (I hope not!). Also, it's always had gremlins with the battery charging circuit so I need to sort that out. So far I've fixed up some electrical connections and removed the forks from the bike. I'm looking forward to some help from the forum guys here to help me though! I'm an Engineer living and working in Belfast, Northern Ireland. happy 2012 to you all!! Keith

Hi, Ok, it's an old bike but new to me. The guy I got it from says it's an 1982 Maxim 650. The number on the crankcase is 4H7-102276; the number under the side plate says Engine Family: BYA065044 A6. Near as I can tell from research so far says this is a 1981. I'm going to tear it down to the frame and do a rebuild so I'd like to be sure I know what it is. In the gas tank is a bit of rust inside. Anyway for me to remove this myself? I've heard of guys putting in fish tank gravel and shaking it around; not sure how effective that will be. Also I've heard about "tank liner"; again, is this something I can so or should it be sent out? Any help is appreciated. …

Hi all, Just thought I'd say hi. I've been riding for a couple of years but always relied on other people to do my maintenance for me... so i recently thought I should pull my finger out and learn! I ride an R6 1999 and have invested in some new tools to get me started. I wanna apologise if I ask stupid questions on here, so if you see any of my posts, please bear in mind I know very little about mechanics and maintenance! Thanks for all your help in advance, Sam

Hello, my name is Baz and thanks for letting me join. A bit of background, I have been riding since I was 7 and have been hooked ever since. My first real bike on the road was an early 80's XT250 red tank gold rims. I have had various bikes over the years and I still have a few bikes now and one of the pride n joy's is my 1995 XT600E. It has been a journey as I bought it cheap with work to do and have enjoyed every step, some details: originally put new airbox and brakes, work on original carby(s)to get going on the road, After a while reco speedo and taco as well as new stainless spokes and alloy rims. Currently undergoing motor overhaul with big bore 660 kit, rebuilt cr…

Hello all, new to the forums and new to motorbiking, I currently have a CBF 125 and getting towards earning my A2 licence.. My cousin has this bike, pictures below, and I don't know if its worth doing up, I want a project and this seems a great chance, I've been researching and it seems a common bike, hence me finding these forums. from mytextcheck, it's a 1994 FZR 400 not Genasis As you can see it has this Cadburys livery, It must of been done by the previous owners as google has nothing about it being a special. I would love to get it cleaned up, serviced and start restoring some parts, I would love to remove all the fairings and have them repainted in a solid m…

Alright, my name is Guilherme Terceiro, I'm from Brazil and few days ago I received a strange kind of XV 535 VIRAGO. Here in Brazil, Yamaha starts to import bikes on 1994, but my crazy uncle, he imported one by himself, he always said that was a USA 1992 importation. Now he dies, and give the bike to me. Holy God, this bike is a canon on the roads as a Cat in the town. This XV535 (Virago) Don't have a fuel tank on top, just a cover for the air filter... But, I'm trying to look any kind like this, and i think don't exist. Later I'll send a picture for you!! And thanks a lot, to create and keep a forum like this online!!!

Hey there guys, Ive been riding since August last year and been having a blast and at some point looking for going on rides with people either before i upgrade or after! But before i rush ahead of myself, Does anyone know if theres a workshop manual for a Yamaha YBR 125 2010? Ive been looking at some Haynes ones on the Net but that only covers the 2004-2009 series. I had an accident the other day and went through someones fence which ended up with me trying to figure out how to repalce my rear brake pedal, indicitor switch and front light (not the bezzle or bulb) What i want to know is if the Haynes manual for older models is compatible for my bike? P…

Hey! I am new to riding, and have a old Yamaha YG5T. I saw my bike in a picture on google, next to another bike that is often up at my school parking lot (). I recently broke my clutch cable, and bought a replacement off the internet. I installed the new cable into the lever, but am unable to figure out how to properly insert the other end of the cable into the housing. Is there anyone in this club that can point me in the right direction. Thanks so much Dave

Hello, so thankfull to find a knowledgeable forum for yamaha! As you can see i got a yamaha chappy lb80. First few months it was running great, Lately ive noticed a serious lack of power. Everyone ive spoken with says no bore kit exists, And to bore out the cylinder would be a custom and rather expensive job. Any advice for a newbie? Thanks!!

Hi All, I am a relative newbie who has been blissfully bombing around London on my YBR 125, until my chain jumped on my way home tonight. The recovery guy says I need to renew it and the sprockets. I have a natural distrust of shops & dealers and would like to be prepared. Do you have any advice on what would be the best set to get? I'm not after any performance improvement (it's a 125, there's nowhere to go) but I would like to know what would have the most longevity! Doug
