  1. Hi, i have a DT 125 lc MK 2 or 3 (can't figure out which) with a YPVS engine and powervalve that is not functioning as it doesn't have the servo motor. i've been searching for ages for info on this for this bike and all i get is bombarded with info about the DTR which has a completely different engine and the power valve on the opposite side. i have searched ebay for a couple of weeks for one for a DT 125 lc and for RD 125 lc as i believe these have the same engine but cannot find one at all. are there any other ones that will work? like maybe off a bigger bike. its the 34x engine and it has the powervalve on the right hand side with 2 bolts to mount it to completely…

Hey, i'm kind of new to this but; I have an '87 DT 125 LC mk. 3 and have been searching everywhere for a powervalve servo that will fit on and work but have had no luck at all, i keep getting results for the DTR so i was wondering if any body knows whether one of the DTR servos will fit on the lc, i know it's on the other side of the engine but surly with some bodging it would work or is it much more complicated than that? Any help appriciated, thanks

New Chap on the forum here. I have a DT175MX (1979) project I'm starting soon with a mate (who bought it as a reminder of his misspent youth !). He stripped it down a few years back full of enthusiasm etc.The fork stanchions were then sent away to be re chromed and the guy promptly went out of business and thats the last we ever saw of them ! So.. First question as we searth the world for replacement tubes or complete forks is - Does anyone know which other year / model forks fit the '79 UK spec DT 175 ? We've seen a few different years etc pop up for sale but never knew diameter / length info to interchange. Anyone know any info so we can widen our search ? Of course …

I have just returned from a trip over Europe to landeck in austria just beside innsbruck 3000 miles in 6 days. I herd of people taking long trips on the xt660r but never did myself,My friend had a bmw1200gs and the yam kept up not only at speed but returned very good mpg at speeds on mororways of 90mph no problem,it had done 9000 before the trip and never used any oil during the trip the only thing i did was lubricated the chain. The main gripe which i new of was hard narrow seat and vibration through the bars mainly the right side and getting on and off because of the rear bag i am 5'9 31 inch leg but get on ok without the pack. We went on a good selection of roads f…

hi guys, i've recently had some issues with my new bike. keeps spluttering on the power band and when you try to maintain your speed! i've changed the plug for a 8 instead of the 9, new air filter and new 2 storke oil. i ran it down to my local bike shop today and asked them to give it a quick compression test. it was only a young lad who did so was a bit uncertain if he knew what the comp should be! this is how he did it, and the results:- ingnition on, 3 pulls on the throtle. then 3 kicks where it reached 140 psi. then 3 more where it made 160 psi was the correct method and are those good results?? i'm certain a red up on here it should be around 150 psi on …

Hey guys, So I was riding my AT1 today and I noticed my back brake had some travel I wanted to eliminate (The bike has drum brakes, by the way.) I tightened it WAY too much, but seemed to work ok until I went to slow to pull into my driveway. I hit the back brake with normal pressure and the wheel completely locked. I got it to unlock and adjusted the brake out until the bike moved freely again and took another test ride. Whenever I would slow to come into a stop, the back wheel would lock. Ok, easy fix, just adjust it out more, right? Apparently wrong. I have it currently adjusted out so that it doesn't lock when you hit the brake at normal pressure, but the…

Ok so the old girl failed the mot today on a couple bits, including the rear shock having sod all damping (thought it was bit soft!) and the bearing at the bottom having excessive play. Been looking for a replacement, but cant get a definative answer on whether the later DT125RE shock fits? loads on ebay for pennies, and they look identical, but not sure if its gonna fit and work right. Anyone know of any other bikes that share the DT125R's rear shock, or that will bolt straight on? not interested in changing the swingarm etc unless i absolutely have to!

Hi, I am rebuilding a 78 dt..I have three front wheels and when i fit them they are all off center, ie the distance from rim to the fork is bigger on the brake side! Surely the wheel should be in the middle of the forks, can anyone confirm this. Thanks Pete.

I'm 90% there on buying a used '99 WR 400. ANy problem areas I should look for? I had a friend that bought a used CRF 450 and had quite a bit of work with the cylinder head. Without taking the thing apart, any good way of assessing how worn the engine is?

  18. So ive bought another, not quite as old nail. It needs a few bits doing but it was cheap. First concern is the clutch, you pull it in to select 1st no problem. But when you let it out theres no modulation, no halfway, instant engagement. Ok so with a little practice there is a way of slipping the clutch, but its still too abrupt for the slow bits off road I anticipate!! Any ideas? The clutch doesnt bind at all. Cheers in advance. Ed

Hey guys' Need a bit of advice with my DT 125 R '89. I've recently rebuilt the engine and I've done over 1000 miles but I've fiddle a bit.... I've replaced the Rees valve with a racing reed and before I brough it, it had a DEP down pipe and a Big One End Silenecer... So to the point should I change the jet at all? Thanks, Zimbo
