Hi guys, The sun is shining and I need advice to get me back on the trail. I'm just about to put the top end back together after a rebore. Everything is great but I have noticed that one of the two "spacers" on the right hand barrel studs is missing. Don't know why I didn't notice it before but it must have been missing when I got the bike as I certainly didn't loose it. Can I reassemble the barrel without it ( there is some movement when I put the barrel in place ) or is this part of the reason for the partial seizure that happened before I got the bike. Until I stripped the top end the bike was running quite well, Should I be worried? Thanks in advance for any kno…

Your thoughts gentlemen or even can you point me in the direction of someone who is already doing this so i can place an order for one. It way well have been done before and i di not want to reinvent the wheel Ok then. I may well have found someone who would manufacture a system for the DT250. I have looked long and hard on fleabay and literally 100's of sites for the system to no avail, they really do seem to be as rare as rocking horse poo. Assuming i am not as dumb as a box orf rocks and there is someone sitting (uncomfortably) on a pile of dt 'spannies' and silencers and i am the only one who does not know about them then; Q1: If i could get someone to manuf…

OK, folks, newbie here. On the site, not to bikes. I recently acquired the pictured(if I can get it posted) 78 dt-e, at least that's what the title shows. However, I don't think it's a 175, as IIRC the 175 dt's had the exhaust routed on the right side of the bike and this has it on the left. As you can see, it's had some strange owners who had uniqe ideas of paint, etc. WIP, believe me. Anyway, anyone got an idea of what engine I have? It's been snowing and I haven't been out to check the cylinder cc's, does have a six-speed box like a dt. Hmm, can't find any instructions on posting a pic, some help there would be nice. Ray

Hi I have just bought an Xt 125 which was a bargain. I am really pleased with it, it looks really nice and I think its cool as fuck but...... the only thing I am unhappy with is the speed and quickness of it. When I test rode it, it was sluggish. it wasn't properly warmed up, and I cant ride it properly until Saturday when I pass my CBT and my insurance becomes valid. Im not expecting too much of an improvement but I suppose for my first legal road bike, it will do. Are these exhausts worth getting that give them extra power? I have seen them on the net for around £250 - £280. How much of a difference will it make, and is it really worth buying? Thanks Guys

Hi Everyone didnt see that there was a separate setion for enduros - Ive just become the proud owner of DT 400mx and was wondering if anyone can tell me if, in general, spares are relatively easy to get hold of as i'm going to need shed loads if i want to get the bike back to a good condition and if they are expensive relative to other makes/type?

Hi Folks Recently broke the rear light & a few other odds & ends on my bike, which I have now replaced, however there is a terrible buzzing sound coming from the indicator relay under the seat/rear mudguard area. When I turn the ignition key, the neutral & oil lights no longer light up & I can't hear the little whirring sound that I used to get. The bike will start ok & these lights then come on, however the indicators then will not work unless I am on the throttle, at which point they seem to flash with a strange rhythm. I saw another post on here in which someone had a similar problem & the advise was to check a joint somewhere along a r…

hello there people, i have a 2003 yamaha dtr 125 and it has a problem. when i run the bike and reach to about 7000 rpm, the gearbox is spewing a creamy substance out between the crank case and the engine block. what im wondering is if the seal has gone, and if so, what kind of a job is it. and is the gearbox supposed to build up pressure? now go easy on me as im new to this club and do not have that much experience with fixing bike engine ect. cheers

Hey people! Before I get my carb setup I'm thinking about making my dr125r more suitable at 60mph! If I scream the nipples off it it reaches 110kph but I'm not a fan of running bike flat out for national speed limit! If I go down a tooth on front sprocket would this allow more comfortable riding? I'm gonna keep the standard sprocket for green laining! Cheers Ken

I had been looking for a definitive answer of whether this is possible or not , or more to the point how much modification is needed. well after failing to find an answer i just gave up on the idea. A few weeks later when looking for a new tire for the X wheels i saw a listing for a pair of golden color R wheels HOWEVER they were listen as suitable for the X and R model, i email to confirm they would fit the bike and the seller said yes, agreed on a price and waited for them to come. When the arrived everything seamed as though it would ft no problem, so got the bike up of the floor to swap the wheels took off the front one tried it and realized the disk on the…
