Dual Sport, Offroad Bikes

Hi everyone, I'm new to the site. Hopefully someone can reply and give me an idea of what's going on, any help is appreciated. So I'll start from the start. I bought the 2001 dt 125 and rode it home (about 50 miles) on dual carriage ways and a roads and everything was fine, really pleased with my new purchase. About a month later I noticed water dripping from the coolant expansion overflow pipe from the frame. I rode it the next day to work and it seemed to get really hot. Hello chaps Question regarding different piston types. My bike is a 1980 DT175 (G) I got my hands on two different Wossner forged pistons: 1. The first for a DT175 82-10; 2. The second for a 175MX Thru '77, '79-81 (also listed at CT-2). The first piston is clearly wrong for my bike as it seems to be a few mm longer and will likely hit the head. The 2nd, supposedly correct piston (based on what the supplier said), has the correct dimensions however the ports are round rather than square like the piston that came out my DT. Any ideas if the round port holes on the piston will be a problem? Thanks!

Hello does any one know the white colour code or paint name for my dt250mx 1980? UK, white with red/blue stripe tank. there should be a gray colour code sticker on the frame next to vin, but my one went a long time ago!!! I have had it many years from 82 and want to do my now second referb, the first was in 94'ish. I want to send the tank off for referbing, but I have never know what white paint to use. i think is ford diamond white at the mo!! Had a good search on the net and could not find anything specific, pure white or peal white maybe!!! thanks for looking paul

Hi! I've recently bought a Dt125RE converted to supermoto, it's got Excel rims front and back 120/70 and 140/70 . And im wondering how it will affect the handling if I install a 150/70 tire in the back. And im also having some issues with my powerband, my bikes tops out at around 140km/h (gps) but on most gears it lacks power at around 7000 rpm, it doesn't bog but just doesn't wanna KICK, like it does by 8000k rpm and 6000. . Hi All, Need a bit of advice. I need to get a new exhaust as mine is now far too rusty and i want a better one anyway. Which is the best front pipe/ expansion chamber out of DEP and Fresco Big One? I realise this is all subjective and down to personal experience etc but the Big one is around £60 cheaper. I already have a nice DEP back pipe. Thanks, Lee.

I HAVE A XT 660 R AT ABOUT 140 TO 170KM IT SNAKES FROM THE FRONT, I HAVE SPOKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP ABOUT IT AND THEY TELL ME ALL OF THEM DO THIS. I WAS THINKING OF CONVERTING IT TO A X MAYBE THAT WILL HELP, BECAUSE OF THE SMALLER TYRE IN FRONT?

Well I have decided to take the plunge. Going to the bike dealers either later today or by the middle of next week to order my new bike. Going to buy new for the peace of mind, dealer backup etc with a view to keepeing it for a year. Are there any other XT125 owners on here or any experience of the bike? Thanks.

i have a L reg dtr125 with a 02 reg engine and since yestaday it hasnt been starting and when it does it runs for about 10 seconds then cuts out, i got the AA out and they tryed the plug - superb spark, the fuel tap was letting fuel throught and there didnt seem to be a blockage from the tank to the carb but when spray carb cleaner into the air filter it runs ok, he said it will be the carb thats blocked and that need to take the carb off and clean it out but i wanted to know if it could be owt else before i take it apart cheers

Does anyone know if a pattern set of plastics are available for a 2000 model DTR125? My son has a blue model and the left hand side panel is missing and some of the other plastics are not in the greatest condition! Hi Guys, I'm 25 and have wanted an off road bike since a young lad. I'm around 6 foot and 12-13 stone and physically fit. I'm not sure on what bike to get. I have noticed there is a YZ85 Big Wheel. Is this too small for someone of my size? I cannot decide which bike to go for as a starter bike 125cc or 85cc BW? I will be mainly using the bike on Sundays, for fun, on off road trails and field's etc... nothing serious, not racing. I have around a grand or so to spend so was looking at a 2000-2002 model. hi all i am at the end of asking everybody the same old questions, i have an n reg xt350 i brought it about 3 weeks ago when cold at first start up it does not smoke once warm it does quite bad it does not miss fire and starts first kick, can any body help, is it valvestem oil seals or the piston oil ring, hope some one knows please help, cheers stibly

ok so i arrived at the test centre this morning a nervous wreck jumped on my bike settled down and got into it done all the manovers everything cool i thought id definantly passed then we were on the way back i was thinking how well i coped being in a place i have never been to anyway so close to the test litterally 50meters i took a left into this park and ride car park and the examiner drove past and stopped told me i had taken a wrong turn so i spun around out the car park turnt left then the next left into the test center was absolutly gutted when he told me it was a no left turn i should of went right then round the roundabout and back up 2 MINORS AND I BUGGERED IT U…

i was riding round last night on my DTR as i usually do then i heard clonk clang and it cut out, i go to kick it back over the kick start is solid. so I'm think seized (oh s**t) my mum then told me try bumping it so i did the kick start became free again but wouldn't kick over so i bumped it again and it started 2 go then it kept backfiring and wouldn't go faster than bout 10 MPH. if any1 knows anything please help my lil bike

Anybody got a headlight with chrome bezel and headlight grille for 1980 dt175mx

As some of you may know, i have a DT50mx, 1984 But when I try to indicate, it takes like 2-3 seconds for it to actually START blinking, but when i swap it to the other side directly, its instant, as it should be.. Any thoughts? or is this normal? 'Cause its REALLY annoying =/

Like the title says I am new to this forum, I recently purchased a 1992 WR200 and have a very simple question that I hope someone can provide an answer to- what is the mixing ratio for the gas and oil? The Yamaha race book that came with the bike says 20:1 which seems extremely rich to me, but I'm used to dealing with oil injected machines so I could be wrong. Anybody?
