Hi folks! I'm looking to fit a top box to my XJ 900S Diversion (1997) so that my better half will consider riding pillion without worrying about falling off the back!!! Ideally, I would like to fit a Givi E52 or E55 or any 2 helmet mono lock equivalent, but am confused as to whether one can be fitted or not. When I list the available Givi accessories for the Diversion, it shows a 331-F rack, but that does not look suitable for a mono lock case. Is there a plate that you have to get as well? Any suggestions for a suitable 2 helmet box?? Cheers

I am new to the bike world, and I recently purchased an 82 xj500 maxim. The bike runs great and has lots of power, but at low engine speed it makes a noise. Being an automotive mechanic for five or so years it sounds like an upper end noise, maybe timing chain or valve noise. My question is, is this a normal noise and is this something I should worry about? Thanks in advance, Chris

Hi all , My first time on . I have a cloudy white XJ6 bought new September 09 . I have currently covered just over 12 thousand miles, the majority of the mileage is commuting . . Passed my big bike test Aug 09 so this is my first big bike following my excellent YBR125 . I am really happy with it , only 2 problems : the brake lever switch has started mucking about so that will be replaced under warranty at the weekend and the starter is noisier when the bike is hot , other than that, no probs . I have fitted R&G bar ends ( scuffed the originals) , Protech rear paddock stand Bobbins , crash bungs and engine protector . I have my eye on a Genuine…

Hi there, I'm relatively new to these pages so a big hello to you all. I've got a 2009 XJ6 and was interested to know what others have done about the exhaust. To date all I've done is drill a hole through the end and this has made a slight inprovement to the sound. What have others done? Anybody out there used 2002 R6 down pipes and worked from there? What about some of the full systems on offer? What have you had done and how much did you pay? Really keen to hear about others as I'm I'm going crazy trying to decide what to do? Thanks KW

Hi, Just got the XJ6 2009 and loving it, I bought a tail tidy and am stumped at how to remove the current tail! I can see the 4 bolts under the seat that needs removing which is fine, however I'm confused about the wiring and the indicators and how to take them off the oem one and adding them onto the new one!? Is anyone able to assist please! If not I'm going to have to take it to the local mechanic and he'll charge £60! Is there any instructions or tutorial anywhere? Thanks for looking and any help?

Hi all, New to this forum group so hi. I ride an XJ6 S Divvy 09 and love it. owned it for a couple months now and still absolutely love it!! I want to modify a few things like tail tidy, get LED tail light with integrated indicators and put on a decent pipe and get rid of the cat box. The question is.......I want to keep the center stand but all the exhaust systems that I have looked at require the removal of the center stand. Anyone got any advice on this or know a way to get around this? Also to those that have done any mods that are worth doing or not would like to know (esp the tail light). Thanks Nick

Hey guys I got a '59' plate XJ 600 naked in Sept 2009 , I ( at the time) had a 33 BHP restrcition Licence when I borught it . It is currently fitted and came fitted with a 33 BHP restriction kit . The bike paperwork, and the mechanic handed over a seperate steel engine part , which I now have been told is a throttle/ carb plate which was taken out , in order to fit the restriction plate/kit . The part was about 4x 2 inches of an irregular rectangular shape . Upon recieving the bike for the first time the mechanic told me firmly " Keep hold of this , you'll need it when de- restricting" . I bet you guesses it by this point , I managed to lose this very importa…

I'm needing to change the coolant on my XJ6S. Having gone through the manual (and worked out what type of anti-freeze to buy), the only point I'm not sure on is whether it's mandatory to change the 'gasket' on the coolant drain plug (I'd call it a washer personally!) The manual suggests it should be changed - but I cannot seem to find a part number anywhere for this. So 2 questions really - Do I need to change it really? (the bike is 5 years old) - What is the part number for the 'gasket'? Is it just a standard washer or is it a crush washer like on the oil drain sump plug? Thanks in advance!

Well, it looks like it! But I don't want to wade in and start removing screws and have something fall down inside! Can anyone shed any light on this?

Hi, I bought some some Givi luggage for my new (2nd-hand) XJ6 Diversion. The racks fit securely, even if the fitting process was fiddly. However, the T275 rack slightly obscures the rear indicators and the situation is worse , in my opinion, when the panniers are fitted. On the following image: http://www.motorcycl...exd.asp?id=1090 the rear indicators extend much further back than the rack. On my XJ6 one part of the rack lies "in front" of the indicator lenses, hopefully that is clear on the attached photographs. (first time I have tried this image sharing) https://picasaweb.go...feat=directlink However, the indicators are clearly visible from a distan…

Hi Guys, I'm the happy owner of a 2010 XJ6 Diversion F, got it last year, and came close to 10.000 miles on it. During my time with my bike I have come across some 'uncertainties', but hopefully you can help me out. I have google around to find answers, but the more I search the more in doubt I got, so I figured I'd ask you guys. 1) Since I'm looking for ways to make my XJ6, MY OWN, I have come to wonder... Is there a difference between the FZ6R and the XJ6, other than a few HPs.. If so, what are the diffences? and 2) Will I be able to fit a Two Brothers Exhaust V.A.L.E M2 005-2570107V-B Black series on my XJ6? (and will I need a PC). I know i…

Hi guys and girls, I'm new to the forum so........... Hi!! My ride is George, an XJ6-S, I've had him since May, done about 1500 miles and altogether very pleased My first bike was an ER5 and since having a 'proper' bike I've learnt a lot and am still learning. Anyway enough of the soppy stuff! At speeds of 60, the noise inside my helmet is so so loud. If I sit up straight my chest takes most of the blast and it really quietens down. Somebody suggested to crouch down more but if I wanted to do that I've had bought a sports bike. I've had a new helmet and it has helped but not much! I'm 5'3, so not sure if my height plays a part..... do you think a double bubble …

Hi, I have a 2010 XJ6 naked. Its done about 450 miles but I have found 2 things. Firstly after a ride of about 40 miles i find a small oil drip at the bottom of the coolant pump. I think it is coming from where the pump enters the engine. The pump did sound a little noisey when the bike warmed up on tick over the other day. Also when I let the bike warm up on the stand I get a slight engine noise / rattle for a very short period of time. It always happens when the temp gauge is about 47 to 50 degrees. Oh and the manual is a bit unclear about chain slack. The 45 to 55 mm amount shown deosn't say if its when the chain is pulled down and up measured between the …
