Hey Guys, On the USA Yamaha website, they're showing new pics of the 2005 Yamaha range from the 15 July 2004 (Next Tuesday).......check it out! http://www.yamaha-motor.com/products/categ...otorcycles.aspx I've already seen pics of the 2005 R6, it's the same as the current 03-04 model but with some engine, brakes and fork tweeks and sexy under seat exhausts like the 2004 R1. Looks mint!!!

If I do not use my bike for a couple of weeks, maybe 5, the carb jets clog and it won't idle or run right. I was told it's the gas, but had this done once already (all 4 carbs cleaed and put back together)and now it's happened again. Is this something common???

Hi all, As the weather was good today I thought I would have my first ride out of the year, turned out it could be the most expensive one of the year!! I was riding along minding my own at about 40mph when I hit a deepi-sh pothole in the road, luckly it did not throw me off just heard a lound bang (and felt it) I thought to myself the front tyre had gone but I seemed to slow down ok with no wheel wobble. Inspecting the front wheel all looked ok but I could hear air rushing out of somewhere, it was the rear wheel!! would anyone out there have some setting i could try that u know works for my r1 i weigh 100kg with the sute on. ride twisy good road. not so much track. mostly use for daily comuter. but have a lot of fun weekends. please help.

Hi all, I've fitted these headers (03-05) to my bike and I'm struggling to find a reducer so that I can fit the can back on. If any one has done this and managed to source a reducer to fit, could you please post the details. Your help will be much appreciated! Thanks inadvance Jim

Hi, Just passed my test a week ago and my 2006 R6 was delivered this morning with "0" miles :-D Anyway, to run it in the book says "no more than 8500 rpm for 1000 miles"... There still seems like plenty of poke AFAIAC nearly hitting 90 and nowhere near 6000 nevermind 8... Its all happys days BUT... just read the manual again, the Shift Change Indicator on the lower right of the console I understand can be reprogrammed which is a gucci idea... but someone missed a trick when it came to running it in in the first place... I thought that "why don't I change this level to 8500 so I know that I won't be going over it (too often for the min)" which would be okay, bu…

Hi Guys, just after a bit of advice really. I've got an 06 r6 with 43000 miles on the clock and I was looking at selling up for a R1. However, I was offered £1000 in p/x! It has more money than that on in accessories! Can any one confirm that is about right? Am i kidding myself that its worth more? The bike is in excellent condition with Gilles stuff all over it, carbon everything, Akra exhaust with de-cated stainless headers, braided hoses, Galfer discs all round and power commander. HI TO YOU ALL I AM A NEW MEMBER JOINED TODAY 04 AUGUST I HAVE HAD VARIOUS BIKES ALL 600'S AND HAVE NOW GOT THE LATEST R6 WITH THE STUBBY CAN I AM STUCK ON WHICH CAN TO GO FOR AS I AM STARTING TO MOD UP A BIT, ALREADY GONE FOR THE TAIL TIDY BY R&G INSTEAD OF THE AFTERTHOUGHT ON ORIGINAL BIKE WHICH MAKES A LOT OF DIFFERENCE IN THE LOOKS DEPARTMENT. I AM HAPPY WITH THE PERFORMANCE BUT A LIITLE EXTRA IS ALWAYS APPRECIATED. hi just up from a DTX125 to a fz6 got a very good deal on it just waiting for my restrictor kit to be fitted so i can take it home and remove it right first question; how different is this engine from a R6, am i right in thinking its just CAMs and the ECU?? also best place to buy a nice sounding exhaust, tail tidy ( to start with ) i'll post up some picks when i bring it home cheers

Hello All, i currently have an issue i would like some help with please. i have a 2006 model R1 and numerious people i have been following home at night have informed me that when they view me in there mirrors my main headlight looks like i am constantly flashing them(going from normal beam to high beam and back) !! I have had a look and i can see nothing loose, is this a current issue with the 2006 model??? Its annoying me now as other bikers think i am flashing them to inform them of a problen with their bikes when i am not. Please help? hi just started using my R1 after 6 months parked up have noticed when you switch bike off the cable going to i think exhaust cat it keeps moving and making a noise any ideas its like a small solenoid or motor running

With my mandatory introduction post out of the way, I figure I'll jump right in with my inquiry: I have an 07 R6 that doesn't like to idle at stoplights... randomly. When I say randomly I mean that it doesn't matter if its hot or cold. Sometimes it does it, and sometimes it doesn't. It happens frequently enough to where its problematic. I've changed the spark plugs, cleaned and examined the air filter, and had the battery checked. When I am riding and I pull in the clutch while off the throttle or stopped the idle dips and the bike dies. When I try to start it, it fires right up. It doesn't bog or sputter upon acceleration. I'm back from Daytona and the bike was great in all respects. I'm keeping the bike and am doing the Montana trip in June. I am looking for suggestions on alternative exhaust systems. I know Yamaha just came out with an exhaust system for the 1300. Anyone have any suggestions based on your experience?

Hi everyone, I am a newbie to both this site and the wonderful world of biking-I have just bought my first bike (YBR 125) and have been trying (unsuccessfully!) to find a topbox and tank cover for it-any knowledge/suggestions or items for sale greatly appreciated.

I just got a brand spanking new 2007 YZF-R6 three days and yesterday I put about 150 miles on it, and then today I went to ride it and it barely started up. I'm not sure how to explain it because it sounded like it was trying really hard to start and could barely get the engine to rev. I held the throttle open slightly and it did start. I'm wondering if there's a choke switch somewhere that I'm not seeing also. I did press the ignition switch a couple times by accident when I was riding yesterday because for some strange reason I was thinking it's not the horn, so I'm wondering if I screwed up the starter motor. I've read this is somewhat normal, but after I broke the engine in...around 1500 miles, a mysterious ticking noise from the top left side of the engine appeared. Increases/Decreases with engine speed/rpms. Engine & Exhaust muffles the noise at 5K plus. All the local dealer's say it's normal, but I'm not so sure of their competence. IS this normal, or do I have a problem? Seems a bit strange to pay 11K for a finely tuned bike like this to have "tick" after teh engine was broken in properly.
