My son & husband share two bikes, one is an '85 FZ750. It's starting to get tired & need major work, and they need a workshop manual. Anybody know where to get one in the UK ? -- Also I will no doubt be back with more gormless questions , so please dont yell or laugh at me

Hi, I am hoping to use an fz750 alternator on another project. Does anyone know if these are internally regulated or is there an external regulator/heatsink on the bikes? Also what wattage are they? Ideally I'm after a PDF workshop manual if anyone has one or knows where I can get one. Thanks in advance. Olly

Building an FZ750 race bike and i need some parts and advise . The reason is i own an independant motorcycle repair shop . I used to race "back in the day" but am now well into my fiftys and many of the young wannabees and cowboys that come to my shop and see some old pics or trophys give me grief about being past it - well - i'm not !!!. Mid 80's is my passion - i found a dead FZ750 and now i want to build a sleeper - something that looks old and slow to the wannabees and cowboys - and go out to a few track days and maybe open up a can of WHUPASS on these youngsters . I have an fzr1000 donor engine for the top end to put on the 750 6 speed tranny . Now i need some downdr…

Please can someone help. I am a new rider. My FZ1 is chattering round near front forks at low speed. Taken into Yamaha dealer, unable to locate fault, Has anyone experienced this problem?

i purchased a new 2008 FZ1N last week , i havent had the chance to ride it much . once run in , i'll run it through its paces . but my question is , what top speed are other members getting out of theirs ? hows their overall performance ? i'd certainly hope it can reach 260kph ?

Hello all, I have just aquired a FZR 250 with a little light work required (i hope) to get it going again. Trying to find a plate for the compression chamber between the cylinders but otherwise the bike is complete. 1986 model with a bag full of spares with the bike and the original Yamaha key that fits all the locks. Is anyone able to tell me what one of these is worth to see if I lost out on the deal I had? Hope to get your feedback soon. Thanks, T

hi to you mad yamaha fans. i am new to this club and very needy of your help in searching for spare parts for my ageing motorcycle. i own a fzr1000 genesis 1988 model on an "f" plate. my list is as follows 1) front footrest pegs including rubbers. 2) chain and sprockets , new preferably. 3) bar ends. thanks for all your help,look forward to speeking soon.

Our 1989 FZR 1000 Genesis. ran to work well. Pressed starter to move bike later and engine started to turn over then all electrics went dead. Battery and connections look ok, all fuses under left rear pannel look good. Where do we look next? anyone any ideas?

Firstly, hello everyone! This is my first post and already looking for somehelp.....sorry!! I am taking delivery of a 1989 FZR 1000 EXUP tomorrow (always wanted one!) and apart from the exup valve being seized it's really clean! So, to my first question.......where isbest place to find an EXUP valve (servo still fine)?? Also, would a FZR 400 valve work (as there seem to be a few of those about!!). Lastly,.....I've read the spec of the bike and it states the tyre sizes as front - 130/60/17 and rear 170/60/17. Can more commonly available tyre sizes fit....to get more choice?? I whould be eternaly gratefull if some one whould tell me in witch order the beast fires in I was told by a garage its 1 3 4 2 from the left with 1 and 3 and 4 and 2 coils paired up

Do they ever sieze up and stop working ? Doing a bike at the weekend and it's deathly slow for an FZR - deffo lack in top end. I suspect lack of maintenance and a duffer of an EXUP valve.. Any suggestions - J

I have been offered a great deal on a FZR 250 (2KR) and to buy it, I would probably sell my current 07 CBR125R which I feel is a snail on the highways, especially with the strong winds around here. The bike I have been looking at is a grey market import and very uncommon for my country (Canada) as I have yet to find any solid information that's not in Japanese, I have joined this international forum in an attempt to hopefully find some guidance. hey im new here, just have a question. My friend is selling me his fzr250 1990 model 1998 import to australia for $3000, it has a new engine with 20k on it that cost $1500. My question is are there any main problems with the fzr i should look out for, also is it possible to do an underseat exhaust conversion. I have not seen ONE 250 that has an underseat exhaust, why is this? thanx for ur help

hey, i need settings for my FZR 400 3TJ 1989 mikuni carbs. i cant find any manuals or anything on this bike jap imported. but yeah its running to rich, the only way it would run/idle is with no air box also takes a while to start but im guessing that its flooded and gunked up the the spark plugs. so yeah could any one help please? cheers danny

Hi guys I need to change the front disc's on a fzr 400 3tj 1993 model but I'm finding it really hard to source a decent secondhand set , will any other Yamaha front disc's fit? I also need to find a rear caliper for this bike too, any help and advice much appreciated :0)

i have this L reg fzr 400 and the battery runs flat after a while. i have replaced the battery with a new one, checked the charging, it shows a charge of 14v at tick over,14.2 at3500rpm. Put the lights on and volts drop to 12.4v at tickover,12.8v at 3500rpm.This seems i bit low i thought, any body know what volts i should be getting. thanks cranny

I am fixing up an FZR 400, fixing up the operative words, and need to replace the sprockets, and would like to know if anyone has completed a similar task, this is my first and I want to get any advice/wise words/tip bits from people "in the know" Darryl (Mr Inexperienced) If it is broke hit it with a hammer!

Hey I'm looking at these Japanese import bikes as they are easy to restrict to 33bph (then de-restrict whn i want some fun) i have seen alot of honda CBR's and seem in good nick however i dont want to leave yamaha as a yamaha was the first big bike i rode (ma dads wr) and i fell inlove with yamaha since.. however if the FZR isn't any good ill look more closely at honda's and qwackers helpp meee pleaseeeeee
