Hi all, as a new member, I'm searching out fellow RD owners. Have just purchased a recoed LC 250-(ex racers personal rebuild never used) and have not been able to find any local owners clubs. Seems everyone had one once and loved it (even me), but all have moved on. Not many left it seems, and no others for sale, so I've no idea what it's worth. At least this one will stay on road. Would also love to hear others RD stories. Have a friend who swears he'd never ride anything less than 1000cc cause they're not powerful enough- wait till I loan him the RD for a spin- Tee Hee!!

I pretty much run a straight pipe exhaust for my WR125x and haven't noticed any decrease in power except for some backfiring sounds when I downshift. Will I fould up the engine because I have lost backpressure? Thanks!

Afternoon all, after many years away from bikes i'm going to take the plunge and i'm very interested in a v twin virago 750 or 1100....i'm doing as much reserach as possible to find out, pro's, cons, service, parts etc...not to worried about servicing as i've been rebuilding lambrettas and vespas foir the last 20 years so not to bad on the mechanic side of things. I'm 6 foot and would be using the bike for work and pleasure during the summer months and the odd ride out at the weekend in the winter...all your thoughts, views and opinions on the subject greatly appreciated

Hi all, Exiting the Mway under light front braking I am getting vibration from through the bars. If I apply firm or hard front braking I have no vibes, can anyone offer advice. I have no excess play in the headset, all front wheel bolts secured, 800 mile worn in front tyre and good depth on front pads. I have not checked the front discs for warp yet, seems unlikely since very lightly worn. Wonder if brake pressure in one side lower causing light grabbing of the disc Thanks for any help

Hi, Although I've only been riding since August, I've got early Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (trapped nerves in the wrists). I had it very mildly before I started riding, but riding has exacerbated it something shocking and whilst I probably won't have this bike forever, I would like to be a bit more comfortable in the meantime! So, bearing in mind I know nothing about the technical stuff, can somebody tell me if it's possible to get risers for this bike? If so, what do I need to look for when getting them or is there a particular brand? Is it something I (or the hubby ) can fit ourselves? Sorry for the questions and thanks in advance for any help you can give me.…

  9. Hey After finally sorting out the steering on my 125, a guy from work is getting rid of his Ducati Monster 696, and I'm thinking of taking it (blasphemous i know, i'm really sorry). He bought it about 18 months ago brand new as his first bike but basically rode it for about 400 miles and was too scared of it, so has barely used it. He's giving it to me real cheap, but I'm just wondering what the main things I need to look out for are. I presume I should change the fuel in the tank (not sure if he used a stabiliser) and I have bought a trickle charger as the battery is dead (I guess that might need to be replaced having been used so little), but what other things are t…

So, really I have no idea about batteries. Mine is ~4 years old and after 2-3 days of non-use does not have enough power to start the engine. I have been looking at a few options; Replace with stock battery - Yusa YTZ10S - but it is £100 or so! (CCA:190) Replace with this AGM battery which as I understand will stay charged longer without use. CCA same as stock (CCA:190) but it is only £50. It has 4 terminals, I have no idea why. Replace with this lithium battery. The capacity is half stock (4ah) but CCA is 240 due to some wizardry I don't understand. Also £100. So I know nothing really about batteries, if you have any opinions on each of these (or oth…

It's been a while since I posted last. Still have my xs500b, and it's running as well as it ever has, but I recently bought an 03 YZF 600R. Currently making sure that everything there is all good, and trying to decide whether to sell my 500, or hold onto it and slowly turn it into a full cafe racer.... odds are, that's a pipe dream. Too much money that I could be spending on other things. In the meantime, heres the newest addition to my garage. The Fox and Skin decals are going to be the first to go.....

Hello to all, I have a 2006 Yamaha Roadliner, great bike. What I am looking to do is to bring my RPM's down when cruising on long trips. Looking to bring them down around 300 to 500 RPM's. I will be do this by using a small rear belt pulley since I don't' have any room for a larger front pulley to put a bigger one. Can anyone help me out as where to find a smaller rear belt pulley for the Yamaha Roadliner. Or does any know if the other Star belt driven bikes might have a smaller pulley that would work on the Roadliner. Thanks Dave

:x Recently an idiot 200lb friend of mine decided to get on the back of my R6 by putting all his weight on the left pillion footpeg, there was a rather sickening creak and now the rear frame seams out of alignment. With the bike on a paddock stand I've measured the distance from the floor to the footpegs and also from the floor to the luggage pins and the bike is 4mm lower on the left side. Has anyone else had this problem? Do I need a new subframe? Can it be straightened? If so, can I do it myself as I'm a competent mechanic? Rest assured I gave my friend a good kicking. R6's rule!

hello there iv recently purchased a xj600n and I'm going to change the oil. Iv already brought an oil filter and sump plug. I'm new to the biking world. What is the best cheapish oil to use it hasn't done massively high mileage. Is there any difference between bike engine oil and car engine oil???? As i am a car mechanic and obviously have plenty of good quality 10/40 car engine oil will this be ok? thanks for the help.

Hi everyone, This is my first post on the forum and i was wondering if anyone has had any sucess using a 150 / 60 18 rear tyre on a 91 model FZR600. I have had the bike since new and as anyone who owns an FZR with 18 inch rear its getting real hard to get decent tyres. I changed the front tyre size years ago to 120 / 70 17 which greatly improved the bikes cornering when hitting into tight ones at speed (stops it trying to stear itself) I have the bike stripped to the frame at the moment giving it a major birthday (new everything) Hope some one has some feedback on this. Bye the way has anyone changed the rear to a 17inch rim??
