Hi guys, got a little bit of money lying about (Not enough for a new bike before anyone suggests it!) and am looking to upgrade the YBR a little. I was thinking of 2 new tyre's and a Xenon bulb upgrade (As i do often ride at night) and then ran out of ideas! I have heard that pilot sport and city demon are both quite good, anyone rate one over the other? Got naff nylon ones on there at the mo so i think anything will be an improvement! Also what else can be done to a YBR to spruce it up a little? Sure some of you biking veterans have more ideas than me. Any input welcome!

Hi there! I'm looking at getting myself a bike. At the moment, the running favourite is the YBR125. I'm just wondering if people had anything to say, either for or against, about it. The other option is the Honda CG125, but the Yamaha seems to be better quality. Was also wondering if it's possible to find whatever user manual or book comes with the bike online somewhere, just so I can take a look through it. Thanks in advance!

So I've tried using a Spinexx to carry my gear to work (workclothes etc), but it's fiddly to clip on/off and the opening is a bit too small to use easily (anybody want to buy a Spinexx 3-in-1? ) and I'm tired of riding with a rucksack so I'm looking at 2 other options... 1. I really like the Oxford Humpback mainly because with the tailpack base there's a permanent base on the bike and in theory it should be quicker/easier to attach to the bike. Looking at it in the shop, it looks a decent size and is expandable too. Question is, would it fit the bike? Looks a little bit big, so I'm hoping that a fellow YBR owner uses this luggage to confirm or deny... 2. A…

Hi n00b here. Just bought a new YBR125 and was wondering, I'm sure I read somewhere that the 2007 YBR125 had an automatic choke, is this true? My YBR125 has a manual choke, I don't know anything about the retail bike industry but I would assume buying a new bike in June of 2007 that you would get the 2007 model? Or am I wrong on both counts lol? Great little road bike though!

Hi, Recently I purchased a front cowling for my Yamaha YBR125, went to fit it today, as was incredibly surprised to find that the mounting brackets are about an inch out of mounting. When the dealer ordered them in, they did say '06, but immediately dismissed that these would be any different (the headlight hasn't changed on the YBR over the years). I was wondering if anyone else has had one of these screens, what it was like to fit, and what year your ybr is. It does look like I can bodge it, but I don't want to run the risk of bending the brackets to find that it still doesn't fit, and then I can't return them. Has anyone else had one of these Yamaha screen…

Hi guys, I've just completed my CBT after wanting to ride a motorbike for years. One question is, do you reckon they'll be any new features added to the YBR125 '09 model which will be worth waiting for? If not then I guess I should get one ASAP, as I realise the new test rules have been postphoned until March 2009, so I reckon I should make it an excuse to get practicing Cheers

So I recently got a 57 plate YBR125 from my ex. He damaged the clocks back last year and refuses to give me the replacement brackets. I managed to get a set of the outer casing from ebay but whilst I started to put them on I realised hes also broken the two circular things with the glass (well plastic) in. Is there anywhere I can get just the clock plastic covering without buying the whole clocks bit? If no one understands me I'm sorry.

Unfortunately no garage means I have to keep my 56 plate YBR outside under a heavy duty cover. I'm only on L plates and it's not getting heaps of use other than mincing round a local car park practicing manouvres whilst getting my nerve up to go on the road post CBT but the rear brake is squeeking like mad and getting on my nerves. Apart from "get a garage" has anyone got any advice to lessen/get rid of the racket?! I might also find myself getting in trouble when I go back to rider training for some lessons 'cos they'll know if I'm cheating and using my rear brake 'cos the noise really gives me away It's probably the weather etc 'cos I don't remember it being bad…

Hi all, Just recently got a 07 ybr125. It seems the back light is not working, the one that should be on all the time. The brake light is working fine. Can anyone tell me which is the light that stays on all the time, as there are 2 lights at the back, the top one is brake so im guessing the bottom one should be on all the time. Anyone know how to replace the bulb in the bottom one? thanks, adilxs

Hi all, To me a single top box on a YBR125 custom looks a bit unbalanced and throws off the lines of the bike. Does anyone know if I can mount side panniers? If so, which ones and tips for fitting? Many thanks Rach

Hi Everyone, I have a problem with the start up of my YBR125. The bike will start with the choke reasonably well but after a few minutes, the bike struggles to even slightly rev up (after necessary adjustment to choke). As a result, the bike cuts out. I must point out the bike runs beautifully once fully warmed up. The bike has been into Yamaha and they have said there is nothing wrong with it, I think differently. All my other bikes (owned a few) I've been able to start, leave to warm up for a few minutes, get on and go. This bike is quite the opposite. Could anyone help with possible solutions? Thanks and Regards, Mike

Hi all, My son has just got a YBR125 that was in need of some TLC, including the front brake binding a bit. We've stripped it down, cleaned off the brake piston, and put new seals in. Brake fluid has (obviously) been changed as part of this, and the system fully bled. I did this with a compressor bleeding tool as used by garages, and when you pump the front brake, the pressure does not increase as you do this. It all works now (piston pumps in and out beautifully), but to me, it still doesn't seem right. Now, perhaps I'm just too used to the brakes on bigger bikes, but on this one, you can pull the handle back to the bars fairly easily. Even at slow speeds (just p…

Hiya. I have recently purchased a yam ybr 125. I'm from the UK and havn't done my CBT yet, so can't really ride it. I am just looking round the bike and seeing where everything is. Did the ignition shut off test earlier. I've downloaded the manual from there website and it mentions the fuel cock. This is a switch where you are supposed to switch the fuel from on, off and reserve. Thing is, the manual sais its supposed to be under the seat but i cant find it anywhere. The manual also stated that it may be in different places depending which model you got. I got a standard YBR 125ED. Is it possible my bike doesnt have one, or its automaticly done or sometihng? it…

Hi guys, Complete newbie to bikes and have acquired an '06 YBR125. Good so far, but as other posters have commented, weedy headlight. At this stage don't have the time to go into separate lights or upping the power, so am just looking for a "quick fix" replacement bulb before the nights draw in. I've seen some 35/35 halogen ones on Ebay, and they say they are BA20D (395) type. I've taken my existing bulb out and none of the (extensive) markings contain "BA20D" or "395". Can anyone confirm or deny that this is the correct bulb type (I won't hold you to it)? Thanks in advance.. Martin
