Hi I bought a new XJ6n about 7 weeks ago and had the Yamaha dealer supply and fit a 33bhp ready for me to ride away. When I picked the bike up I asked the question. "Did you take off or change and parts to restrict the bike so when it comes round to unrestricting the bike I have all the parts and come do it myself". I was told no it's just a plate the screws on to the throttle body that stops the throttle, just unscrew the 2 screws and remove the plat. I thought I would have a look as it booked in for this first service this Saturday, and found that this plate not only is a throttle stop but also holds the cables. Hi guys, I purchased an 2010 Xj6 n abs over a month ago and just want to make sure there isnt an issue with the bike as i can only engage the following gears, 1 N 2 3 4 5 does anyone know if there's a known issue with engaging the 6th gear? ive never been able to get into 6th at all. The bike is still under yamaha warranty but want to know if anyone else can give some advice on this as when i went for a fast paced ride the other night could only get into 5th and high revs being around 6. This is the first XJ6 and yamaha so now dont know if i'm doing something wrong myself neither so any help would be greatly appreciated!

Im looking for a After market exhaust for my new XJ6 i know Devil, Ixil, Leo Vince, do one. but i cant decide what i want. what would you guys recommend =]

You need to do some cutting and soldering as the connections given aren't long enough and the correct shape. Will post pictures in a while.

Hello guys and gals, I know this sounds like a slightly boring question - but what would you expect a xj6's mpg in town to be? I mainly drive in London and commute to the center of town, so obviously a lot of stop start and slow driving... Over the last month or so it's slowly been declining to about 30 mpg or so now - And it's not as if I'm revving at the lights or anything, honest! Anyone else out there I can compare mpg's with? On the couple of occasions I've traveled on the motorway it's picked up a couple more miles to the gallon (a bit over 40),but nothing close to reported 50 mpg it should be able to do (I've even seen reports higher than that). Hi, I'm looking to get a seat cowl in the next few days and the black XJ6 09 I have is black, however it has a grey fairing on the back.... Does anyone know what Yamaha calls this colour by chance??? Reason being is that Demon bikes do one in either Black (same colour as the tank) or Titanium Grey (not sure if this is the rear fairing colour for the black version: http://www.demonbikes.com/more/on/details/12965 Any help would be highly appreciated as I think I'd prefer the cowl to match the colour of the fairing instead of the tank!? I have a Yamaha XJ6N 2010 year model, and I damaged my front side fender (first picture, position 1). Since I will change the cover, I wanted to change it with a different color. I wanted it to be matte black, but none of the variants for 2009-2012 have a matte variant, only glossy (I don't want to buy Chinese variants from Ebay/AliExpress). I have a XS 400 E 1978, running pretty well. It has a Mikuni carburettor. I am thinking of buying a carburettor of 1981 XS 400 Speical. Is there any difference between these two, it look like both the bikes have same carburettors. Hope it will fit on 1978 XS 400. Invites your advise. John

I have a 1979 Yamaha XS750 which has no spark. I have narrowed it down to blown transitor in the Electronic Ignition Module. It is about as big as a 10 cent piece and has FTD32 printed on it. I cannot read the rest because it has blown a hole where the part number is. Does anyone know the part number for this? Could it be something else that has blown it up? I was thinking voltage regulator maybe. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hey Guys, Just got a pre-owned yamaha xt125r as my first bike. I cant for the life of me work out how do use the digital dash. Obviously you have the blue mode button on the left side handlebars but I cant work out how to change the time or do anything like that. I mean what modes does it have?? Is there an owners manual I can get to show me how? Also this bike was stolen/recovered and the previous owner had to rewire all the ignition and stuff. After purchase I've realized that my horn doesn't work. However after fiddling with the blue mode button, the horn started working again, until i fiddled some more with the mode button and now its stopped working. So is …

can any one tell me how to adjust the float to the right level on my yamaha xt125x as i had a problem with fuel leaking so cleaned carb and all nearly fine but think i,m not getting enough fuel now or to much. plus when i bought bike oil servce light on owner says oil changed but cant get rid off service light. says only a yamaha dealer can do it is that true thanks alot

Hey everyone. Today the bearings for the steering went crunch and now I can't go anywhere with the thing clicking and locking up every time I try and turn. I've tried looking for the bearings on ebay with no luck and the closest I can find elsewhere on the net are for the 82-86 model, can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks Michael

Hi guys new here previous KTM rider bow have an xt basically the bike is like new 9,000 miles i love the bike it came with aftermarket exhausts. Question is is very choppy and snappy in the low range 20mph is a killer, Also what is a cheaper alternative to a power commander? Heard they can mess up your bike?
